The day trip to Lahemaa was a great experience! We had a very small tour (only three people!) and our tour guide Kullo was super great with customizing the tour for what we wanted. It was a really fun day and I highly recommend this tour!
This was the most expensive tour I've ever been on, I understand that everything is expensive in Estonia but still had to mention it. The tour itself was great, our guide was very knowledgeable, kind and easy to understand. This sure is the best way to get to see multiple places in the national park if you don't drive. The undisturbed nature is truly something to behold and I got to taste wild cranberries. We also went on the traditional estonian swing, which was scary but fun.
Excursion variée effectuée en basse saison et donc en tout petit groupe de 3 personnes. La tourbière est d une beauté envoûtante et la promenade entre forêt et mer est très belle. Merci à Kullo pour son accompagnement sympathique et intéressant.
We enjoyed our private tour with guide George, he tailored our day to our wishes and was knowledgeable and entertaining. Our first stop was a waterfall and a seashore. Actually, the waterfall ended in the beach, and the mix of both soothing water sounds really made my day (and I put them in a sound loop to create a sleeping sound :-) My travel compagnion best experience were the different sweet smells of the forests we have been in. We visited the Narva castle and I had never been so close to the Ru border. Then we had an excellent lunch in a university building and went for our last stop, Sillamäe. This is a small city with a crazy history. From fishermanstown, to luxury resort, to industrial oil plant, to concentrations camps, to a uranium plant to manufacture a nuclear bomb, and that gave the status of a secret and closed town, wiped off the map. And in recent history everyone can freely enjoy the promenade and seashore. So did we.
Our guide George picked up the group, and it turned out we were a great mix of nationalities and personalities and knowledges, this already was a source of fun! George knew a lot about his country and was also sensitive to everyone's needs. We visited the Jägala waterfall, the Sagadi Manor, and had a hike through the forest to the seashore, all in beautiful autumn colors. Then a nice traditional style lunch, to be prepared for the next hike; my personal highlight of the day: the Viru wetlands. Somehow pictures never do justice to the feel of being there, in beautiful nature. George encouraged us to take moments of being quiet and feel the spirit of Estonia. And we did! What a lovely day.
A fascinating tour to places unfamiliar and out of the ordinary. Eastern Estonia is well worth visiting if you like history and social commentary. Uku provided us with engaging commentary about the past, present, and future. A wonderful day.
An exciting and engaging tour to wonderful places and a few hidden gems. George was a perfect guide filling us in with history, social insights, and passion. Highly recommended.
I had a lovely day with lots of beautiful places and nice people
George picked us up from the city centre and was kind and welcoming to us all day. He knew so much about the history of Estonia and an expert in architecture! The tour itself was so beautiful and George was so knowledgeable. He then took us for traditional Estonian lunch which was SO delicious. He also drove us to the airport after as our flight was after the tour ended, which was very kind. For the sights, we saw the waterfalls, the forest, the beach, the bog and it was really a lovely day. I really recommend.
Such a fantastic tour, we got to the Estonian and Russian border, with multiple fascinating stops along the way. Uku was such a knowledgeable tour guide, very friendly and funny. Small group of 7, great number. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip.
Mariel was friendly and informative. She led us through the old town to the markets and beyond. She fully explained each of the foods we tried. And there was plenty (we actually shared our tastes and there was still left overs for us to take home). We finished back in the old town for dessert. Before she left us she gave us an exhaustive list of places to see and places to eat. Just fabulous.
Good tour with lots of variety. Something for everyone visiting a national park. History, culture, environment, nature… With some time to relax in between. Our guide’s name (Simon?) not listed as a choice.
Really fun day trip. We got to see a bunch of cool sites and do some short hikes. The guide explained a lot of cool facts about what we were seeing too. Would definitely recommend.
Our Guide was very knowledgeable in all things about Lahemaa N ational Park. I enjoyed our walk in the forest leading up to the walk on the boardwalk along the bog. It was as close to nature as one could get. I also enjoyed our beach time, and our waterfall hike to get a closer look! Quite a day full of adventures! Not sure if her name is Katrin, but hope so..
It was wonderful! The guide took us on a tour at our own pace and knew a lot or things about the history and natural fauna of the countryside. I was delighted to try swimming in the bog water. It was a great day for me and my mother. The Laahema Park was beautifull. We ate lunch at the restaurant advised. Really good too. I recommand this tour if you are still trying to decide.
The transport vehicle was clean, comfortable and up to date with seat belts. The driver guide was relaxed, pleasant and pretty well informed. Lunch was very nice. The park is beautiful and well worth the visit!
My husband and I had a fantastic day out to the Lahemaa national park. The guide was so informative and all the stops were well worth the time. The big walk was a highlight of our time in Estonia. Definitely would recommend this company.
The itinerary for this tour is great as it gives exposure to nature and history. Annaleena added much to the experience with her knowledge, energy and kindness.
Good therapy
I truly cannot express how much I loved this tour -- it was the highlight of my entire 10-day trip to the Baltics. I loved walking within the bogs and learning about their history (there is also an opportunity to swim in one of them so be sure to bring your swimsuit and towel!). I loved the little restaurant we ate lunch in. I loved getting to see the Baltic Sea up close and learn about the glaciers leaving their boulders behind next to the shore. It was a lot of walking, but definitely doable and worth it to take your time so you don't miss anything. I truly can't recommend booking this tour enough! I, of course, cannot remember my tour guide's name (I AM SORRY) but she was so excellent and even sat with me during lunch because I was by myself and really shy. We had a lot in common, with science being something we studied, and she even went to school in the northeast US, not far from where I am from! We ended up having a pleasant conversation that I am very grateful for.
The guide was amazing he took time to explain everything to us and really immersed us in Estonian nature and culture. Thank you for a great day .
It was a nice trip to get to know a little about the nature of Estonia. The guide was loving the nature and giving this love to the people. I didn't know that there was possibility to swim so unfortunately I didn't bring my bathclothes. I was more interessted in nature, so that I would have prefered to stay longer at the seasinde and the bog i stead of visiting the manor house. The lunch was really good and fine. I just would have known it before, the information about in the programme is not so claer. Alltogether, a great day with a sympathic group and guide.
The tour gives you a good chance to see a bit of the beautiful Estonian nature. Our guide was great, very knowgledgeable about the forest, mushrooms, different berries etc. I do think, that the manor is a bit unnecessary in this tour though, takes up some time, that could be spent on some more exploring.
The nature was absolutely peaceful and healing but also the tour guide was so good at explaining Estonian history. It was one of best moments I remember in Estonia. Rich understanding of Estonian history
If you love nature and adventure it should be in your to-do list. The tourleader was very well informed and a pleasure to be with. The highlight of the day was the waterfall and the forest. A warning: For elderly people this tour might include a lot of walking. However, the guide was very considerate about this and he ensure to satisfy all the walking styles of the whole group.
Our guide did a fantastic job to keep a diverse group together and equally entertained.
Highly recommend this tour
Very nice and enthousiastic guide. He takes his time to show us the best places and gave a lot of details about the nature. And the Lahemaa national parc and the bog were beautiful.
Beautiful nature, countryside and history at once. The guide was fantastic.
We learned a lot about the history and the people of Estland. There was a beautiful Walk into the bog. We would have liked to have more time here. The Bus was a bit to old and unconfortable. The guide was driving carefully. Unfortunately, we did not understand his name.
We had a great day away from town with Jan, we saw many interesting things both about nature and about Estonian culture and Jan was helpful and attentive all day long. The lunch stop was also very good.
This tour is the perfect way to explore the Estonian countryside if you’re otherwise just planning on staying in Tallinn. Highlights include a swim in the bog and the Sagadi manor garden
Guide perfect , friendly and expert
It was a great day out to see the Bogs along with learning more about Estonian culture. Our guide Ruta was full of energy and full of knowledge.
One of the best tours we ever made. The guide and the driver gave us a lot of insights. We saw a lot of the countryside we would not have found by traveling just on our own within one day.
It was a great day out to see the Bogs along with learning more about Estonian culture. Our guide was full of energy and full of knowledge. 10/10 I would do again
Nice Guide and a lot of local History and Stories to understand the Combination of Rstonian History, Nature and straightness
Liisi was a terrific tour guide. Very knowledgeable. From the beautiful waterfall to the amazing bog, to a wonderful lunch and swing, to the Manor, to the fishing village hike (with option to walk/ wade a small part of it in the Baltic Sea)… the entire day was a joy. Tallinn is a wonderful city, but escape for a day and see some Estonian nature and culture away from the city!
Everything about the tour was as we’d hoped. We particularly liked the pace and informality of the day. The guides were great - very knowledgeable and approachable. Thank you!
Thank you to Annaleena and Kert for our Lahemaa tour. Our guides combined the history and culture of Estonia and the wonders of plants and nature. We met some lovely people on the trip and ate some delicious food at a traditional restaurant. We were taken back to Estonian childhood on a giant wooden swing. Walking through the bog on the boardwalk was beautiful and peaceful. A very worthwhile trip 😍
Mariel was very warm, pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide. We had amazing experience with her during our food tour day. We were large group and it was not easy to please us :) But she did an amazing job! Absolutely loved our food tour with Mariel and will definitely recommend her to anyone
Thank to our guide, we not only discovered the beauties of Estonia nature and seaside but also learned about the Estonian way of life.
A well-balanced tour, with a bit of everything. Kert, the guide, was very knowledgeable and very personable. You need your bathers so that you can swim in the bogs! The boardwalk is the highlight! Fantastic!
The guides, Kert and Kullo, second driver, were supergood. I enjoyed the tour very much. I'd have liked maybe a little longer time in the Manor house, to enjoy more the gardens, maybe 1 hour stop rather than 45 minutes, but it was very enjoyable all the same.
This was a fantastic tour around Lahemaa national park. Hanna-Liia and Kristin were very knowledgeable and we were given lots of time in a small group to learn about the park and even have a swim ! Thoroughly recommend this tour
It was the great to spend a day in the nature and meet different people
My family (me, my wife, and two teens) thoroughly enjoyed our tour of eastern Estonia. Each stop was fascinating and our guide was friendly, funny, and informative. Would highly recommend!
The excursion was very well planned overall. And the guides Kert and AnaLeena were nice and provided very interesting info in all the stops, and they were very available for the group.
Very good tour with a biologist and a historian, they did very good job
Great day tour to explore the nature of Estonia, fun and educational. Tour guide is enthusiastic and considerate. Good luck with her studies.
We had a great day in Lahemaa. There was a nice mix of nature and history and sometimes both at once. The bog walk was great and and another unexpected highlight were the gardens at the Sagadi palace. Siret was very friendly and a great guide. Nothing felt rushed and there was opportunity to explore at your own pace. The food at the lunch stop was great and we had fun learning how to use the swing!
The tour was very good, the guide was very friendly. We visited everything we had to visit and it was worth it. The walk through the park, the visit to the village (small houses) by the sea, Sagadi, the Jagala waterfall, everything was good.
The nature park is magnificent! Our 2 Estonian guides were interesting and friendly. The fact that we were in a small group was great.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable about Tallinn. She provided great information about Tallinn history!
I had a blast today during the Lahemaa tour. Our guide Siret provided us with loads of info on Estonian nature and history and gave us a better insight in the real Estonia. The views at Jägala, the Viru bog and Altja were stunning
Nice getaway from Helsinki. Mikhail is a good tour guide who provides us with a lot of info on Finnish nature and how the Finns experience nature.
導遊在整個旅程中都一直保持微笑,還和我們一起採野生藍莓,這是全新的體驗!導遊也很有耐心回答所有的問題。我們大家都很喜歡也強烈推薦其他喜歡大自然的朋友這個導覽活動
This tour was beyond our expectations. We had a very educated tour guide, where she was able to tell us all about Estonian history, and also the ecosystem of Estonia as we went on the trail at the National Park and also at the waterfall. She brought us to a local pub as well and it was the best food we’ve had in Estonia so far - again, beyond our expectations. Overall, it was a great day that we spent, we learnt a lot about the history here (totally worth the money!) and the car ride was also very comfortable! 100% would recommend.
This tour is a great opportunity to explore Estonias national park Lahemaa. Pick-up was easy, our guide friendly and knowledgeable. She told us a lot about nature, Estonia and the Estonians. And the national park, the Mansion and the waterfall were all highlights of my trip. Highly recommended!
We explored the highlights around Tallin with our expert guide, Sten. He was the best guide we have ever had. His logistics were perfect, and we were able to enjoy everything we wanted to see with plenty of time to enjoy all. Sten had encyclopedic knowledge of everything - culture, history, wildlife, geology, military history, and food. We especially liked looking for fossils at the base of the coastal cliffs. He was an excellent and safe driver. We even had time for a nice lunch at a lovely cafe that Sten recommended. Above all we want to thank Sten for going way beyond his duties because he helped us with a first aid urgency (something from the days before and not a result of anything we did on our tour). At the end of our tour, he took us to a medical clinic that he had made many calls to arrange an appointment. The doctor saw us immediately and Sten remained with us until he knew all was going to be OK. The entire day was absolutely beyond our expectations. We wish Sten continued success with his career working with the Railway Baltica extension and hope he continues to provide superb tourist guiding in his extra time.
It is really worth going to Lahemaa NP. The moor / bog is so beautiful, the coastline also. We had a very good quality Lunch in Palmse kört. And our guide Ruta was very nice, well prepared and explained everything good. Great Day!
It is good to join the tour, because public transportation is difficult. Remember to take mosquito repellent!
Great experience with an extremely knowledgeable guide
We had a wonderful time on our private tour of Lahemaa National Park. Kalev catered the tour to our interests. He was knowledgable of the area and personable. We would not hesitate to book with Traveller Tours if ever in Tallinn again.
The tour was fantastic and the guide, first day for her, was impeccable.
Incredible experience ! Sten was passionate about telling us about Estonian history and culture, while showing us some fabulous places. The viru bog, lunch at the manor house and the walk along the coast will always be highlights.
We booked this tour as a private one because we wanted the flexibility to potentially see things that weren't described in the trip listing. We were not disappointed! Our guide had arranged a surprise for our group, a meeting the previous mayor of a town on the way to Narva. The tour included interesting sites that you would never see if only visiting Tallinn. Our guide, Sten, was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor in sharing stories about all the places we visited. It is a long trip, but totally worth it, especially our last stop at the beautiful cliff side waterfall and hike down to the beach on the Baltic sea where we looked for fossils.
Incredible day. Every moment of it was breathtaking. The visit of the bogs was especially healthy for the mind. Thank you for this tour !
Sven shared his love of nature and its importance in the Estonian culture. He answered all our questions with intelligence and knowledge. The day was a pure pleasure.
We learned a lot from our tour guide who is conversant with the history of Estonia and special features of the Lahemaa National Park. The bog walk was enjoyable and the scenery along the route was spectacular and impressive. The tour guide brought us to a local cafe to try an Estonian meal at reasonable price. We are fully satisfied with the overall arrangement of the tour.
I was hoping to use this trip as a nice step outside the city and to see the famous Estonian bogs, and it was such a perfect day. Sten, our guide, was so energetic and informative about Estonian culture and nature, it was quite the enjoyable experience. Lahemaa was such a beautiful park to experience and if you go when it’s warm, I recommend taking a dip into the waters. This was the perfect day trip away from Tallinn for anyone who is seeking to get out and touch some grass.
It was a brilliant tour and perfect way to spend a day in nature close to Tallin. I really enjoyed the bog walk - we were so lucky to see it frozen over. The tour was the right length and Sten the tour guide was super informative and really helpful. We were really lucky and even saw an elk in the park.
Lahemaa is a place of stunning beauty and our guide Sten is super kind, ironic and well prepared! An amazing experience!
We were a small group and Kert and Eliza were very fun and informative about showing us around Lahema, the Jagala waterfall and the baltic sea coast. Walking through the Viru bogs was definitely a new experience for us. In all, a very satisfying trip for a nature and outdoors lover.
It was such a unique adventure, as we were only there by ourselves in the national park, because no tourists came there, because of the big snow. Our guide was super great!
Hi! Me and my wife did this forest and waterfall hiking tour on march 2024! It was EPIC ! Our guide Sten was the best guy to go for a hiking ! Very experienced really good person and for sure loves what he does! About the tour… waterfalls were amazing specially at this period we did the tour , everything frozen around them and the colors were so intense! The hiking in the forest was an unbelievable experience that you must really go there to understand! Estonian forest is so alive and breathtaking, the colors the paths and the way that everything surrounding you is really unique and feel so different than any other forest we have visit. Again our guide was excellent explaining so many things for the forest, history, myths, plant and tree species that we wanted even more time to learn more! The food stop was also a pleasant surprise! The food was not the typical tourist food that nobody likes but one of the best that we had in Estonia! , at the end of the tour you will see the sea… and an old beautiful fisherman village that closes the tour so nicely! There is also a nice museum included in the tour with many nice details of the forest and history of the place. If you are a nature lover or a photo lover this is more than highly recommended! We feel very lucky that we did it.
Sten provided a wonderful tour of Lahemaa. He was knowledgable and happy to answer all questions. The day started with a trip the waterfalls, the walk through the bog, lunch at a great spot, and the trip the fishing village with a walk along the shoreline. Sten was accommodating to dietary restrictions and found a spot that had something tasty for everyone. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour, as well as Stan as the guide!
Sten was a great guide and knew a lot of history by heart about the areas we went to. The sun was also very nice on the day and it was an enjoyable experience away from the city.
It was a fun sunny day with Stan as we explored the countryside . We enjoyed the beautiful coastal cliffs , amazing the Keia Joa Falls and surrounding area . We saw the Rummu quarry and heard a lot of interesting stories and its history of prison tales . We had delicious lunch at a local cafe and the Russian airplane that seems to have been part of Star Wars series. Thanks Sten for a beautiful sunny day !
Magnificent landscape, interesting cultural monuments and picturesque Baltic Sea coast. Many thanks to our guide Chris for the organization, the well-founded and interesting explanations and the caring support. All around a fantastic day!
Great tour around the countryside and tour guide very knowledgeable about history.
It was a great day, even with the rain. We had just the appropriate time everywhere. Our guide was great, very friendly. Highly recommend!
Superbe découverte du parc de Lahemaa grâce à notre adorable guide. Nous avons pu apprécier la beauté de la nature, fôret et bord de mer, et en apprendre un peu plus sur l'Estonie, son histoire et ses traditions
Loved the tour. The guide was fantastic, very nice and interesting, would totally recommend.
I love bog tracks. They are really special and beautiful.
The trip was organized very smoothly in a perfect pace. We also had the perfect bog walking experience and a wonderful local cuisine. Highly recommended. Katrin also gives us a good insights to landmarks and history in Estonia. Enjoy a lot :)
An enjoyable, varied and informative trip with an excellent guide who brought personal insight to her excellent knowledge and perfect English.
The tour was interesting also for locals from Tallinn. We learned new facts about history and heard interesting legends. Our guide was very nice and spoke very good English.
Katrin was an excellent guide who was happy to share her knowledge about her country. The programme was nice with a lot of different things around nature, culture & history, food & drinks. I had a swim in a bog in the national park and I enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed this tour with my wife, especially a walk through the bogs with ample time at each attraction. The group bonded and enjoyed each others company. Highly recommended.
Nice and friendly introduction to the beautiful Estonian nature, some traditional food, history and general way of life. Our guide Katrin created a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, while giving a lot of interesting background info throughout the whole trip. No special outdoor clothing necessary (the walking part is rather easy), although I would highly recommend mosquito repellent and long trousers.
If you thought you were “just” going for a tour of beautiful Lahemaa park, think again. Our brilliant guide gave us a glimpse at the Estonian psyche as much as the history and how it was to be Estonian in the past decades. You also get to swim in a bog and eat some hearty local dishes, on top of the beautiful landscapes. Pro-tip: get some mosquito repellant, they are relentless. And ask for beer tips.
Our guide had really interesting information about Estonian culture/history and the stops all were really worth it, I loved the bog trail, really beautiful even during cloudy weather, and also in theory there should be vegan options at lunch, but I had lunch myself at a nice place.
Ein ganzer Tag - ein perfekter Tag, um ein Stück Estland kennenzulernen. Wir empfehlen eine individuelle Tour zu zweit bzw. als Familie. Besser geht es nicht.
This tour is definitely a must from Tallinn. The lahemaa national park offers beautiful views and hikes. Our guide (I'm sorry but i forgot the name) has been very kind and gave us a lot of information, including suggestions during our lunch break. In my case, there was also an organizational problem but everything was well handled and they also offered a reward for the inconvenience.
The tour is comprehensive of most of the key points of the National Park. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining as well. A stop in a local restaurant is included, where it is possible to taste estonian typical food at really reasonable prices.
Super expérience. Many explanations on the history of the park and the nature. Several short walks among the bogs, the foresta dn the seaside. Plenty of time to fully enjoy the guide was super. The van very comfortable. It is money well spent since it allows to visit a Greta part of the park, which would be hard to do privately.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour thanks to a fantastic tour guide, Ivar, and other tourists from Canada. Ivar is a knowledgeable local guide. His guide was to the spots and didn’t miss any what is essential to the tour. I greatly enjoyed the borg walk, a bit swim, local food and a cozy vibe the area has.
Sehr interessanter und idyllischer Ausflug. Definitiv das Geld Wert!
Ivar, our guide was very nice and knowledgeable
A private tour was arranged for our group of 4. It included a stop at a waterfall and a moderate hike in the bog, followed by a visit to a manor house and a fishing village - all in all a great mix of various sights. Our tour guide Kert was very knowledgeable and attentive - we enjoyed his sense of humor and flexibility.
Highly recommend this tour! A great way to see some of Estonia’s amazing nature spots, and also a chance to dive into some history. Our guide was very informative and our group of 7 was small enough for a very personal experience.
Kert is a wonderful guide with enormous knowledge, who is individually setting places to see, he listens to guest’s interests. He is also a good driver and protective host- everyone is feeling safe during the trip. He’s English is excellent. Highly reccomand!
I was happy we covered many places during the tour and had enough time to enjoy each of them without rushing. Marju, the guide, told us many things about current Estonian culture. We could ask as many curious questions we wanted and she was happy to answer. I also appreciate she drove safe. Thank you so much!
We greatly enjoyed our participation in the Lahemaa National Park tour on Saturday July 15. We were a small group of 5 people plus the guide whose name I do not remember (sorry for that!). She was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about the places and nature. She was very knowledgeable also about other issues relating to the country and it’s history and made us all feel at ease with our questions. After awesome nature strolls, the visit of Sagadi Manor took us back to the realities of the majority of rural Estonian people during centuries. Driving was not too much. We particularly liked the nice hikes in the park and at the coast side and it felt nature pure. The lunch was in a charming and apparently country typical restaurant.
We really enjoyed this tour and we can thoroughly recommend it. Kert was an excellent tour guide. The tour exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing day.
The Viru Bog walk, lunch at an historic tavern, the trail to the sea, the manor house with the Forest Museum, The waterfall… all were sensational sites. Katrin as a tour guide is wonderful intelligent and knowledgeable . It was a great day!!!
We had a really nice day in the outdoors near Tallinn. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable about the nature and the history of Estonia. We also had a very nice Estonian lunch for very reasonable prices.
Amazing tour that is well worth the money. They managed to fit so much into one day and our guide Ivar was outstanding - very knowledgeable! Would highly recommend this to anyone.
My two sisters and I took a tour with Katrin to Lahemaa national park and we had a great time. Katrin is knowledgeable, sweet and funny. We were 7 people so it was a great size for a tour, we could easily ask questions and do a lot of different things. The park was beautiful and the scenery is amazing. We were really happy we got a spot on the tour as it was a bit of a last minute decision and we really enjoyed it. Totally worth it and I already recommended it to some friends!
Was absolutely worth the money, you spend a whole day traveling around the national park. We walked through a moor, went to the coast, to a waterfall etc. Our tour guide explained everything very well and could answer any questions you have. Groups are small (we've been 7 people), so it's a really fun vibe and you get to know each other very well :) would recommend!
Excellent tour in the Kalamaja area, visiting the Balti Jamaal Turg market and the Telliskivi Creative district. This was a great introduction to Estonian produce, foods and drinks with plenty of different stops to try a variety of foods. Hanna was a great guide, really easy company and willing to answer all my questions about the culture and history of Estonia. I had a really good time in her company and enjoyed all the foods and drinks that I tried. La Moo ice cream was a great place to end the tour!
Brilliant tour, can’t speak highly enough of Liine and her enthusiasm and knowledge that she portrayed and shared. Great range of activities and well timed and paced.
Highly recommended! Visited gorgeous places and even a moose crossed our way :-)
Beautiful nature, nice guide and insight on estonian culture
We booked the guided tour to Laheema National Park as part of a company excursion. Everything went very smooth and well organized. Our guide was very well informed and gave us wonderful insights into the local culture and history. It was a really informative and relaxed tour and i can highly recommend it. Many thanks to Marju for this great experience!
The tour is well structured in terms of places to visit and lenght and the guide was very nice, prepared and helpful
I highly recommend taking this tour to experience a bit of Estonia in addition to Tallinn. We saw natural beauty of the waterfall, the bog, the coastline, had a local lunch, and came to know quite a bit about life and history in Estonia. Our guide Kert was super - felt like a day out among friends.
We were accompanied by the guide Kert who was very friendly and well informed on the area. We learnt a lot, not just about the Park, but about Estonian culture and wildlife in general. Highly recommend.
We were the only people in the tour so the trip became a private tour. The guide Sten kindly took us around many beautiful places, which we could not have been without this tour. At every place, he explained so much about Estonia’s history, especially because the tour was on the Estonia’s independence day. Even after going to all the places on the website, he took us for another German manor for extra time. We definitely recommend the tour which will show you astonishing nature beyond expectation.
Marju our guide was very well informed, and told us so much about Lahemaa, and also about Estonian society and culture.
Sten was amazing on our private tour. He is so full of knowledge and provided an in-depth history of Estonia and the roles Germany and the Soviet Union and Russia played along the way to Narva. Even in winter, the tour was well worth it.
We spent a wonderful day visiting incredibly preserved natural spaces in the company of the best guide
I had the chance to take part to the tour even if they hadn't reached the minimum number of people. They were so kind to do it anyway and I was very happy about that. Kert is very friendly, well-prepared and easy-going. It was like spending a day among friends.
Wonderful guide extremely competent ( a history professor!), and a tour bringing some nice touristic sights, but most of its interest comes from the way it makes you understand the reality of Estonia. today, between Baltic states common history and Russian influence
Carlos was the best guide ever....super knowledgeable and you can tell he loves his country. We feel fortunate to have had him as our guide! The tour is a great outdoor adventure and gets you out in nature to see the beauty of Estonia.
Our guide Karl was fantastic. Was energetic and informed. We saw parts of the park we would never have found on our own. The pace was perfect. Included plenty of time for hiking and taking in the beauty of the oark
The bog and the beach landscape was like something I have never seen before, and it was fascinating to learn about this very unique eco-system. The tour very quickly felt like a relaxed trip with friends rather than strangers forced together because of a common interest. I've been on a few of these kinds of guided tours before, and this has easily been one of the best because of our guide, Karl (I chose him on the list as Karl-Johan, I hope this is the right person). I'm in awe that he was so knowledgeable, responsible and grounded at the age of 19. You could feel his very sincere kindness and enthusiasm all day. Highly recommended!
We had a fabulous time on the Coastal Cliffs Tour, and our guide Kert was extremely knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure.
Perfect opportunity to see a part of the lovely Estonian country side just outside Tallinn. Our tour guide was the perfect combination of funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend to everyone!
Unfortunately, with little vacation time to visit Estonia, this tour was a good opportunity to visit a little bit of Estonia. Lahemaa National Park is very beautiful and with a small group you can better appreciate it. The Viru marsh is unique, the Jagala waterfall is very beautiful (even if with a small jump and in August with not much water) and the fishing village of Altja and the view of the Baltic Sea. The villa of Sagadi is interesting. Our guide / driver Andres, very knowledgeable and helpful. A tour that has satisfied me and I can recommend.
I really enjoyed the tour: if you are going to Estonia the Lahema National Park is something you shouldn't miss out. The bog is just stunning and walking through it is so fascinating. Our guide was funny and knoledgeable and made the trip even better! Definitely worth!
Our guide, Katlin, was super knowledgeable and funny, I had a very pleasant day with her and the group. The tour was also well structured and you get to see lots of beautiful places! Highly recommended!
Les paysages sont superbes et les explications/anecdotes d'Andres nous ont aidées à encore plus apprécier cette journée. Sortie recommandée à 100%, nous avons passé une super journée avec Andres.
We had a very good time during this day tour in Lahemaa park. It gave us a good overview of the several natural landscapes and ecosystems that can be seen in the park. Karl is an excellent guide, adapting to the group wishes and telling a lot about estonian culture and history.
Nice landscapes and some post-Soviet abandoned places. The guide tells about the history of Estonia in an interesting way. A good option for people who want to see a piece of Estonia without renting a car. Thanks to Kätlin for the great day!
We are very happy to have booked a full day tour in Lahemaa. The whole experience was great. We had a taste of culture, history and nature. Plus, our guide Kert was super kind and very knowledgeable. We really recommend it!
Karl made us feel like we were friends, not paying customers. A great "day off" from city sightseeing, Beautiful nature and valuable insights into Estonian Heritage and culture. Strongly recommended.
Easy way to get out of the city. Our guide knew a lot of the places we visited. Also out of his own general knowledge. Not only got to see the moor, but also learned a thing or two about Estonian culture.
This day tour, which I arranged as a private tour, brought us to a variety of beautiful places in the park. The bog walk was a wonderful way to experience the calming aspects of nature. Kert was a wonderful guide. He was knowledgeable and personable. We really appreciated that he did his best, within the guidelines of the tour, to let us see storks and cranes.
Amazing tour - Kert did a really great job to show us all his favorite places around his home town while letting us decide (group of 4) what we‘d like to do best :) Had a fun and great day. The bogs are stunning, the swing was exciting and the lunch at the tavern was great and affordable with vegetarian options. Thank you again!
The undoubted highlight was the bogland - try to make the most of this unusual and interesting ecosystem. The seaside village, manor house and waterfall were all good; but bogs are best! Kert was an excellent guide, too.
Some people prefer sightseeing in the city only, yet to have opportunity to get out of the city is definitely a big plus! The tour to Lahemaa, Estonia's largest national park is one of the best options to spend a day in nature with nice views and certainly is worth a visit. Our guide Karl-Juhan kept us busy all day with information and lovely sceneries. I can only recommend this tour to anyone who stays in Tallinn!
Our guide Karl (?) was a very sensible and informative guide in discovering a lovely part of the country. He also drives safely.
Tour guide is very friendly and knowledgeable, bogs are beautiful. We also played the swings in the fishing village, picked blue berry during the expedition near the sea. Mr. tour guide drove us to our hotel when we return. Highly recommended.
Kert was a great guide and explained the history and culture of Estonia in detail.
The tour was made up of different locations so it was nice to drive around and explore different parts of the countryside. Kert was a really nice guide, he gave us time to explore. The lunch at the Estonian tavern was really affordable and I enjoyed experiencing authentic cuisine. I was in a group of 6, which was a perfect size to get to know my fellow travellers. Take inspect repellent for the marshes and forest! And an umbrella as Estonian weather is so changeable.
Fantastic day out with an excellent guide who made sure we all knew what was happening and the historical context of places we went. :) Tip for anyone taking the tour - make sure you have some mosquito spray for the bog and forest areas if you're going in Summer! Thank you so much Kert for a brilliant and memorable day ^_^
Very nice tour, good info from the Guide.
We booked the costal cliffs tour. I booked this as a private tour because my family is tall and the website states that a private van is the means of transport. We were disappointed to pay extra to have to ride in our drivers personal vehicle a small hatchback. It seemed unfair to charge us the premium for this. When I raised the issue I basically was told no vans were available and they were sorry. This should have been communicated up front especially because I booked the tour well in advance. Our guide however was wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We really enjoyed our day with him we just felt a little taken advantage of by the company.
Quiet and wonderful day trip - beautiful nature especially the bog. Nice and friendly guide - showed great interest in the guests and sought knowledge about our countries, languages, etc.
A wonderful adventure to the national park and surrounding areas and a fantastic way to enjoy Estonia outside of Tallinn. Kert was great and his sharing of Estonian history and culture was the perfect complement to a day out-of-doors. The bog walk was incredible and highly recommended. Once I saw the sundews, I was hooked (although I was hooked already)!
First off Maibel is the best. She took us around to multiple places that we would not have explored and tried great foods along the way. Maibel is a historian so she knows and appreciates what she it talking about. We started in the Balti Jaam Market food hall with some meats at a small shop. Next was some meat and fruit pies that were so large we shared them. They were phenomenal. We tried the curds, but they were over all not to our tastes, but we could appreciate them. We went to a place close by for the best tomato soup ever eaten. Next up was Herring at a local place. to finish off we had 2 desserts: La Muu ice cream and then a cream and berry dessert. It was wonderful, tasty and enlightening. Loved every minute.
Lahemaa National Park Day Tour is a worthwhile day trip and chance to see several key landmarks Estonia has to offer. You will see beautiful trails in the forests, boulders, waterfall, the coast, bogs, a manor, and a lunch stop at a charming tavern which had excellent food. Over a 6-7 hour period we walked about 6 miles through the various stops. We rode in a 8 passenger van and it was fun getting to know other travelers on the tour. There are a ton of trails and parks to visit in Estonia but I think this tour captures a little of everything in the best areas. I highly recommend this tour and avoid wasting your time trying to plan your own excursion. Plus you get great stories and facts about Estonia and park from the tour guide.
Our party of 5 requested a last minute tour. Traveller Tours was very accommodating and quickly responded with an available guide. The tour guide was amazing, excellent story teller and knows the history of Estonia and Old Town very well. She spoke well, was funny, and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour.
Was a really nice day out.
This was a nice day tour, with as highlights the walk through the Viru bog and the walk along the coast. We also visited the Kolga manor, which is falling apart, although some repairs have been done, and shows the opulence of the Baltic Germans in the 19th century. In the forest before the bog, and part of the bog, and along the coast we did walk through a cloud of mosquitos, so bring stron mosquito repellent.
This tour was the best part of my visit to beautiful Estonia. Our marvelous guide was fantastic, knowledgeable, and kind. He was willing to answer a lot of questions about his country. The best. Anyone who wants to see Estonia outside of Tallinn must go on this tour!
Highly recommended. Well planned, well paced, varied. Excellent guide: informative, helpful, kind. Lahemaa is really impressive, and it’s good to get a sense of the lives of the people who live, or have lived, in it.
It’s a fun trip with a lot of stuff to see, waterfall, bogs, forests, coastline, manor, etc. We had quite some walk, but not too much and not difficult. Kalev was an easy-going local guy, experienced and knowledgable about nature, culture and history, and also offered good options to choose from when the time allowed.
Super day trip from Tallinn to the delightful Lahemaa National Park - there is a lot packed into the day but the trip never felt rushed. Lunch stop was in a super traditional Estonian restaurant which I would never have found myself. We were accompanied on the trip by two guides in training who were enthusiastic and good company. Kert was knowledgable and agreeable company also. I recommend you bring a good camera and, if you are a nature lover, then a pair of binoculars would be a good idea too. Definitely 5 Stars fro this trip for both content and value. Thank you!
What an interesting day in Eastern Estonia visiting the part of Estonia, we had never been before. 12 hour tour was really worth experiencing: oil shales, secret city, ghost town etc. Our guide Sten was awesome, we were impressed by his knowledge and enthusiasm. We highly recommend this tour, and you'll be so lucky, if it is guided by Sten.
Our guide was very informative and interesting and really went the extra mile for us. The tour was very enjoyable.
The guide is AWESOME and so knowledgeable. If you want a heavy dose of beauty, history, and adventure then this is a must-do on your trip to Estonia.
The tour was so interesting and complet, I absolutely loved it ! It's like "Estonia in a pocket", I learned a lot about Estonia's history and I saw a lot of really beautiful places !! And the guide was also so kind !
We had a wonderful time with Sten our guide and saw perhaps some of the most beautiful sights in Estonia. The waterfall and seaside views were quite breathtaking and there was an educational dose of some Estonian history at the old manor. The lunch stop was lovely with delicious traditional food. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough. These were some of the best tours we have been on! Sten was very informative, funny and patient with us. He is clearly well prepared and goes the extra mile to make sure tourists enjoy themselves.
We had a wonderful time with Sten and it was just the three of us. Sten even added in extra bonus stops for us at the begining and end to catch a beautiful sunset. We had a lovely time and got to see a natural phenomenon not seen for over 20 years in the national park!
We spent a full day in Lahemaa Park during winter time. We had the chance to have an awesome guide, Sten, who told us so many things about Estonia. Best guide ever!! We had an amazing day in the heart of the nature. The bog was all covered by snow, so magical! The waterfall was really impressive. I think winter is a great time to visit this place, I strongly recommend it. We also had the chance to see a medieval castle and Sten told us a lot about Estonia history. We finished the day in a small village, we had a beautiful sun set over the sea and the wooden houses. Overall, I can only recommend this tour!!
We were amazed by this beautiful and wild nature and happy to know that Estonian people try to protect it as much as possible. A big thank to Sten who was an excellent and precious guide to discover this park. He was very interesting, very kindly and passionate by history and nature. We spend very good time with him!! Thank you so much and we hope the best for him.
I wasn't actually sure the day of the trip that I'd even be able to go, but once we we reached the first stop at the waterfall, it was all smooth sailing. Sten was very informative and helpful and my girlfriend and I are very grateful that he decided to spend his Christmas chauffeuring and educating strangers.
Two 19 year olds, really enjoyed this tour our guide was great and definitely would recommend.
Super journée d’excursion, bonne organisation avec un guide très sympathique et intéressant, fier de faire découvrir les beautés et l’histoire de son pays.
The tour was very interesting.Talking about Estonian history, nature, traditions,...The landscapes were amazing also in autumn. Our guide, Sten, was very kind and warm and the place where we ate was delicious!
I absolutely loved it, the whole tour was quite striking and breathtaking. I got some amazing photos out of it too and the tour guide was incredible! Thank you :)
The tour was wonderful to experience Estonia‘s nature and to see something outside of Tallinn. We were really lucky with the weather so an overall amazing experience, from the hike through the bog, to the old manor and the walk on the beach! Our guide was great and really tried to show us as much as possible as well as share local knowledge with us. A great day trip, lots of fun and also relaxing because the walking part was doable for anyone.
I took three teenagers for the tour and they loved it! Our tour guide Mirjam did a fantastic job of keeping everyone engaged in the cold and rainy evening. I recommend this tour for everyone. Thank you!
We went on the tour for a team event and it was really fun. Not only the guide was very knowledgable but also really friendly and funny making the whole experience super pleasant. I absolutely recommend this tour not only to tourists, even to those who live in Tallinn, there are so many interesting stories that I had no idea about. We learned a lot from the city we live in while having fun :) Thank you Loviise
It was a wonderful excursion. The guide was so kind and gentle. It was just me, my husband and him so we cet the chance to spend all day just the three of us. Everything was perfect , I highly recommend to do this trip. It was the best day of our journey.
It was a truly magical experience that really was a trip of a lifetime! I had such a wonderful experience that will stay with me forever!
Great tour and guide Sten! I can highly recommend. A lot of informations about Estonian history, wonderful nature, tasty stop for the lunch. I’m very satisfied and once again many thanks!
We enjoyed our day outside of Tallinn with Sten. The sites we saw were interesting and full of natural beauty. We were blessed with a beautiful day, but even if it was rainy this would be fun. Sten was an excellent guide, giving us not only histories of the areas, but also answered all our questions about Estonians in general. Thanks Sten
Super tour guide, wonderful landscapes, easy trekking route
Very good tour! It was a fun experience.
Sehr schöne Tour, besonders der Nationalpark, sehr Empfehlenswert. Der Guide war witzig und hat sehr interessante Geschichten zum besten gegeben!
I really enjoy it!
Sten was the best tour guide imaginable, kind, knowledgeable and very funny. The tour stops were well chosen, and I had a great time!
Both beauty in architecture and some 'sadness' in environmental destruction to experience.
Very good day spent in Lahemaa National Park. Sten has been a great guide, funny and full of interesting stories about Estonia and Estonian tradizion!
A fact filled day in a beautiful part of Estonia. The Wooden swing for grown ups and the gulf coast Rocks closed off a great little tour.
Very interesting tour, very good explanations, however, by simply saying "In private cars, masks are not needed" is really leading to many sick people. if we had known earlier, that no corona protection would be kept we would not have booked.
The guide Kurt was brilliant. He kept the trip engaging with local stories and anecdotes at every spot. Viru bog was superb. However, I feel the coastal part of the trip (fishing village) could've been made a bit more interesting with activities/boating options...etc. Also the Kolga manor house was rather dull.
Made 4 stops: waterfall, bog, manor and lunch at a rypical estonian Restaurant. Had enough time for everything, no rush...great. The only thing to improve: tell the people at the manor house that there is a museum. We all were willing to pay for it, but if one does not know it is open, too much time is wasted outside...and museum is really worth it!
It was our first daytrip tour in Estonia. We were a small group of travellers, so the tour became more friendly and fun. Our guide had a lot of information about the places we stopped, and about the history of Estonia. We had also the chance to pick some fruits in the forest.
Our guide was amazing, and share a lot of histories. The landscape are amazing to discover
The itinerary is very well thought-through and, above all, the guide was truly professional, energetic and knowledgeable! Thank you!!!!
Tutto meraviglioso soprattutto grazie alla compagnia di Chris che ci ha guidato con grande professionalità a scoprire la vera Estonia. Consigliatissimo.
We had a great trip to Lehemaa with guide Chris. We saw some mansions; drove and walked by the seaside; had lunch in a traditional pub with good food; and really enjoyed the naturewalk through the bogs. So, if you have some extra time in Tallinn I really recommend this tour!

The tour was overall nice. I really enjoyed the Viru bog and the village walk. Just a few comments: - the tours advertise "Entry to Sagadi Manor Complex" but the manor was being restore and not possible to visit and the guide wasn't even aware of it so this is poor preparation - the tour also advertised "Bottled still water", however at no point during the tour were we offered water. Fortunately I had a small bottle with me, but it wasn't enough. If I had known I would have taken some more water so as not to get dehydrated at the end of the day. - overall, even if the guide was knowledgeable, it seems he didn't prepare his tour. Having worked as a guide myself, I find that disappointing and lacking professionalism.
We spent almost whole day in beautiful national park. Kalev was super friendly and answered on all our questions. Thanks him I know better not only information about Lahemaa National Park but also about country and Estonian. Good tour 💪
Very satisfied
Our 9-hour small-group tour took us first to Estonia‘s highest waterfall where we learned a lot about Estonian geography and geology, then to a Swedish manor where we got an intensive course in Estonian history, after which we went for an easy one-mile hike on a boardwalk through a peat bog and learned a lot about flora and fauna. One member of our group even went for a swim in the bog, he found the experience incredible. After a simple but tasty lunch in a rustic inn, we made short walking tours in two historic seaside villages. It sounds intense but it was chill and lots of fun. Our guide Andres did a great job of sharing his wealth of knowledge about Estonia with us. Wear walking shoes.
Nice tour and nice guide, even if the weather was particularly bad that day! The tour is nice and we had really interesting talks with our tour guide Kurt. Thanks !
You See a very nice landscape- Driving in a van with 8 Person oneway 1 Hour an walking 2,5 Hours in the Moor and on the water. The Lokal guiding is very Friends and know a lot of interesting Stories about the sightseeings. The tipical meal is very Good. Tipp: it is better the Guide say the points and programms bevor Startsignal
An easy going and relaxing day tour to the Lahemaa National park. This was the best option to immerse into the Estonian nature and rural culture. Trips like this leave you memories for life. The trip wouldn't be so interesting without the knowledgeable tour guide Chris.
We had a superb day with a perfect guide. The tour was a fine balanced mix between wonderful places in nature and interesting historical places from medieval to Soviet aera. It gave us an insight in Estonian society and a better feeling for the country and their inhabitants. I can absolutely recommend this tour!
Our tour was amazing! Our tour guide, Mia, was really fun. Although we have been to Tallinn many times and we know quite a few ghost stories about the town, all the stories were new to us. We learnt a lot about the history of Tallinn, and discovered quite a few new places.
We had a great time with the other people in the group and Kristjan was a great guide!
As usual, great guide and a great group of fellow travelers. We had a lot of fun. The tour felt personalized to our group (even though I’ve taken the same Lahemaa tour with Travellers in 2019). I liked how flexible it was, we spent a bit more time at places we liked the most. Everything was perfect. It doesn’t feel scripted. It’s like an outing with friends.
It was a very good experience. The guide Tiirin was very kind. She explains all the history and the culture of Estonia. She answers all the questions. The trip was very complet with the visit of all the touristics sites of the National park. It's also possible to swim in differents place. It was perfect and not expensive!
Andres was a wonderful guide and knew a lot about Estonian nature, history and culture to share with us. We saw some beautiful nature sights (the Jägala waterfall was fantastic!) and ate a delicious lunch at a traditional Estonian tavern. You should definitely book this tour to see a variety of fun sights outside of Tallinn!
Our group of four was accommodated with a tour booked in English only the day before. We had a phenomenal day at Jägala Fall, Viru Bog, an old manor house, and a fishing village on the sea. Our tour guide Andres was knowledgeable about all of the stops, with fun folklores and stories. We are so appreciative to Andres and the tour company for helping us to explore Lahemaa National Park!
It was our guide's first food tour - and he did a great job! We ate our way through Tallinn market, a Soviet style canteen, Hipster heavan in Telliskivi & finished with desert and Vana Tallinn at "Pööbel". Friendly Igor spoke impecable English and knew absolutely everything - we had a wonderful time!
Really enjoyed this off-the-beaten-track tour of eastern Estonia. You really get to see a very different side of the country - a lot of which looks and feels like it is still in the Soviet times. Narva was particularly interesting being so close to Russia, but there are many things to see and we highly appreciate that we were able to tailor our tour as desired. Would highly recommend to others that like a more quirky and unusual experience. Our guide Sten was very good - you could ask him anything and he would know the answer!
Nice experience, It permit you to see several places of Lahemaa in 1 day. The best is to swim in a pool during the Bog trail. Sten is a local with a great knwoledge and his approach is very friendly.
First, Loviise is a wonderful guide, has perfect English and is very enthusiastic :-) Second, the places she took us were interesting and gave a good overview of what Estonians like / used to eat. Maybe in the future you could also include or offer a local beer, especially with the hot meal. And, Pööbel was fine, but not really in Kalamaja ... All in all, we really enjoyed this discovery trip!
I really enjoyed the tour to Lahemaa. The programme is well prepared, the guide was a very nice person, explained the background information very well. I liked the lunch place and the bog tour was amaizing. Thank you for it. It was a perfect day during my holiday.
I enjoyed the discovers made during the tour. It was interesting to hear about the Soviet empire that we rarely are taught about in the UK. Sten was very informative and knowledgeable about the history. I enjoyed the food from the restaurant too, tasted good and was very filling! You'll enjoy the tour. My highlights were visiting Sillimae and the ghost town
We had a wonderful time on our tour around some of the old Soviet sites and beautiful natural attractions of Estonia. Our guide Andres was friendly, flexible and extremely knowledgeable! Would highly recommend this excellent day out!
Very vice day, tour and organization. We had our time to spend in all the stops for sightseeing, photos, explanations
Some places reminded me of former East Germany. Good spots of 'Stalin Culture' Sten was good and entertaining guide, that has a lot of knowledge about every stop we have visited. He explained a lot of Estonia and from the past and today.
Had a great day out exploring many abandoned places and beautiful landscapes and Andres was a great guide!
We were welcomed by our great tour guide, Sten, a bit before 10am. We were two to do the tour that day (me and my girlfriend) so that was great as we could really talk with Sten and take our time to discover each place. We started with the mighty ( :) ) Jägala Fall and then visited the Viru bog. There was a bit of rain but it added to the bog experience (even hesitated to jump in one of the lakes from the small platform). The nature there is magnificent ! Sten's explanations about both the waterfall and the bog (formation, role in Estonian culture before and today) were very interesting. Unfortunately, we did not spot any bog monsters that day, but it's probably because it had eaten the previous tourists passing by... We then went to Viitna Kõrts, a nice auberge on the road between Tallinn and Narva where we ate good and hearty Estonian dishes (perfect for the day) and enjoyed glasses of kamajook and kali. The rest of the afternoon was great, finishing with the small and charming fishing village of Altja. We then went back to Tallinn. Sten offered to put some Estonian modern music (pop, folk, etc.) to get to know the art-scene. We took note of some nice songs :) Sten dropped us off before our hotel, which was very nice, and gave us some great places to have dinner or have a drink. We had the time to try some and really enjoyed them !
If you want to escape the city, this is a nice way to do so. My guide was simply great and especially the small hiking tours were fun.
We had an amazing day experiencing the breathtaking and unique beauty of the Lahemaa National Park. The highlight for us was the Viru Bog Trail. Hard to find anything similar in the rest of the world. Thanks to Andres for all the information provided in a pleasant and entertaining way. We will be back for sure.
It was very interesting especially because my guide was really fond of nature, hiking & mushrooms. He was available and kind.
An unexpected treat! A big thanks to Marii for keeping me informed about the different tours during my stay in Tallinn. When the opportunity arose to join the Lahemaa tour, I didn't doubt. 4 diverse stops (waterfall, bog walk, manor house & fishing village), a good mix between background info and free time, and one of he highlights of my stay: the walk through one of Lahemaa park bogs. The landscape is really typical (and in some places: truly stunning), and the walk (about 3.5 km) is ideal in length. And because the weather was great, another bonus: swimming in a brandy-colored lake...
Einfach klasse. Absolut lohnenswert für Naturliebhaber
Maybe especially for a Swede, with all the common history, this is a very interesting and nice tour to take - to visit Narva and see some of the historical sites that is so deeply seated in our history. But the tour is also of great interest for all people who are interested in getting a glimpse of what life was like in the U.S.S.R. You will even be able to visit a formerly "secret city" that was not marked on the map!
This day trip deserves more attention! We had an amazing time. Our tour guide, Andres, has a wealth of knowledge on all things Estonia (and Lahemaa, of course), and he shared that knowledge in a way that was light, funny and engaging. We had a great time with Andres! Each stop on the trip offers its own beauty and serenity. We loved the bog — during a cold, rainy day, it had an added mystical feel — and thought the hikes through Estonia's famed forests were lovely. Each hour is different, and you cover a lot of ground (including about six or seven miles by foot) throughout. If you're visiting Tallinn, I would highly recommend making time for this.
Great tour! Really fun and tour guide was great
Line was brilliant. It was snowing, cold but she had really high energy and delivered the tour so well. Stories were entertaining and she was very lively. Thank you!
Learned so much about the country, the history, the geography, the astonishingly rich nature. Andres was a super guide, so lovely to talk to, and a wonderful source of knowledge and stories. Highly recommend this to anyone who loves nature and wants a perfect day trip outside of Tallinn.
A great tour in the wilderness and a real opportunity to visit the coastal regions of Estonia. Our guide Anders was great and especially at lunchtime where all cafés and restaurants seemed closed. In the end he found a great little café with a delicious menu for only €6 : Top
Great tour to visit landscape outside Tallinn! We were lucky as our guide was the God of Thunder himself!! Despite the rainny weather we enjoyed this tour, especially the parts through the bog, the forest, along the coast and the waterfall. The tour is shorter than described on the website (7h)
Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly.
Nice nature and, sovietic history tour outside of Tallinn I would definitely recommend to join to discover other side this lovely cou tey
This day trip was fun and easy going. Our guide Andres was prompt, knowledgeable and above all fun. As we made our way from site to site we enjoyed an informative discussion on the local and historical facts about Estonia. For lunch we stopped at a true local hangout which had great food and atmosphere. All in all a great way to spend the day and see the country. I would highly recommend this trip!
It was a great exprience! Lahemaa National Park is a beautiful and quiet plaec. We had a lunch at traditionla Estonian restaurant. It was good! Thnaks to Anreas, excellent historical knowlege to share with us...
My friend and I had a great time visiting the park. It is beautiful and very quiet mid-January. We would highly recommend people visiting Estonia to go on this tour, as it offers a different perspective on the country. Our guide, Andres, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable and engaging. Kudos to him!
The tour was well worthwhile; a great opportunity to see a bit of Estonia beyond the city. Andres was great - knowledgeable, enthusiastic and honest (happy to discuss Estonia warts and all).
It is very amazing to see old Soviet places and learning about it, see the Baltic sea from beautiful view. A lot of things :) Only one negative feedback, the tour is too fast. I wish I had more time to savor the moment while visiting the places such us some times to see the sea or walking less spedly the:(
Our private guide was fantastic
I really appreciated this excursion in Lahemaa national park. Uku was peaceful and we could take time in every places we went so it was a pleasant and relaxing moment. He gave us interesting informations. The fact to be six was really nice as we could take time and know better each other.
We didn't know much about Estonia, being Americans and such. To us, it was simply a former Soviet republic that found independence dumped on its lap when the Wall fell. Through JJs personal stories of growing up during these years, along with seeing some of the scars, we got a much better appreciation of the nation and people around us. I feel disappointed for those who travel to Tallinn and only see the Old City. This tour opened our eyes to so much more.
I really liked the walk in the park. may be a little longer because it is really beautiful. visiting the village by the sea is also nice because it allows you to see the sea. It was a great day with a friendly guide.
It's was an interesting Meander through the town. For a lactose intolerant eater it was a difficult journey but our engaging young guide turned a testing evening into a lovely exploration of tastes and places.
Wonderful nature and cultural day tour. The guide was very good! So, if you like nature and forests you should definitely take this tour!
Very nice tour at night in the Old Town. Lots of legends and history details pretty well narrated. I did not see the time pass by. I highly recommend this tour, which is a very useful complement to the free daily tour at midday (with other spots to see).
This trip is really worth doing. The Jägala waterfall and the Lahemaa national park are both a beauty for the eyes. We had the chance to have a perfect weather : it snowed a bit the morning, when we were on the road, which permitted to enjoy very delightful landscapes covered with snow. When my group reached a little tower inside the national park, it was just the time of sunset, which we could enjoy watching from the top of the tower. The lunch was also great, permitting to discover local food. Great guide from whom we learnt a lot about Estonian culture, and great co-travelers! A very enjoyable day!
Great stories. She did a good job relating the stories to the various nationalities in the group of tourists.
Nature paradise beautiful country side amazing guide
Cold weather, creepy stories
Me and my two friends enjoyed The ghosts and legends of Tallin tour very much. It was a fun introduction to Tallin's peculiar history and strange stories. Our guide Mirjam was excellent and she spoke clear English, she is a great storyteller. Personally I would have liked to hear a few more spooky ghost stories - like actual sightings, haunted houses etc. But this was entertaining combo as well. Would definitely recommend this tour for other travellers!
Beautiful cliffs and interesting places!
The guide was really helpful and funny and told us so many things! He knew all of the Estonian stories and he was happy to answer all and every question. The walk in the park and at the beach were lovely and the manor too. It was one of the highlights of our trip so if you like a bit of adventure you need to go!
It was nice to travel outside Tallinn and see more of Estonia. We were blessed with a beautiful day. The walk through the Bog in Lahemaa National Park was a bit of a challenge but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our group was from Germany, Belgium, Hong Kong via Australia and New Zealand. It was a good group. Our guide was informative. However, it would have been nice if he waited till the whole group was together before explaining the area. We missed some of what he was saying.
Brilliant quide and awesome stories. Our quests from Finland were really delighted.
Easy walk in the national park including the bogs because the land is so flat. Anyone can do it so dont hesitate to take this opportunity to get out of the city. The sights are pretty in their own rights but dont expect it to be comparable to places like Austria, Scotland, etc. The guide is very quiet but so am I so I was completely fine with it. But some may not be. Some advice for the guides would be perhaps you can share some of your insights on your country's culture and history throughout that long drive.
Great day to Lahemaa and thanks to great tour guide, Thank you so much so much JJ, you are terrific!!
Great day to Lahemaa and thanks to great tour guide, Thank you so much so much JJ, you are terrific!!
Great autumn tour even if it was a little rain.
The guide was exelent
The Lahemaa National Park day your was great. It was well run and our guide was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The park is beautiful. Very happy I did this.
Jevgeni picked us up right on time, and despite an ominous weather forecast and rainy morning, he was, as he put it "ready to be optimistic" about our day. Since we'd only landed the night before, and we're quite jetlagged, it was great timing for this kind of tour since talking to someone always makes a trip more fun and keeps you from having that slightly lost and confused feeling that sometimes comes with new places. My husband and I chose a private tour since we only had a week and wanted to maximize our experience. The rain miraculously stopped shortly after seeing Estonia's biggest waterfall, and we arrived at the Viru Bog. The fall is turning the moss various shades of red and orange, and combined with the totally unexpected blue sky it was absolutely beautiful. Jevgeni was incredibly knowledgeable about the biology of the peat bog and got hands on by showing us how peat functions and how it is such a unique formation in the places that it exists on Earth. After that we stopped for a delicious lunch, and headed to more forest where he regaled us with a hilarious rendition of Estonia's "Epic" legend that was written in haste. We learned why hedgehogs are considered bearers of wisdom, and we even got plenty of history lessons along the way. Coming out from the forests to the edge of the Baltic Sea was stunning. It was so peaceful and serene. Pat and I both ended the day feeling like we'd seen things we wouldn't have found on our own. We'll absolutely be recommending this tour to anyone else who wants to visit Estonia!!
My husband Pat and I opted for the private tour option since we only had a week in Tallinn, and without a rental car, we wanted to make the most of the trip by getting outside the capital for a bit. We took two private tours with Traveller, and neither one disappointed. On this tour, Sten picked us up promptly outside our AirBnB and gave us plenty of options of what we could go and see. Our response was "all of it." For the entire day (we left at 9am and got back around 5:30), we kept seeing one thing of beauty after another. Sten was so so knowledgeable about the history of Estonia, it's Occupation, it's subsequent Independence, what life is like now, and so much more. The highlight for me was climbing around the former limestone quarries and the flooded prison. If you're not afraid of heights, or, as he put it "to go mountain climbing in the country with no mountains", this is a real treat. Also the Soviet plane, now the home to a model airplane club, is surreal as you sit in pilot and Gunner seats and get transported back in time. We didn't only talk about the past, though. We talked hobbies, politics, culture, movies, etc. It really left us feeling like we'd made a friend in Estonia. I will absolutely recommend this company to anyone visiting the country.
The tour was awesome!! We came across numerous buildings and statues, and each of them had a different (sometimes cruel) story to tell. Igor brings these legends with enthousiasm, passion and even a sinister sense of humor. :) You'll be sucked into the stories as if you are living them. Keep up the good work! When attending this tour after sunset and in cold temperatures, the cruel medieval stories really come to its best! Afterwards we ate in a medieval themed restaurant (peppersack) to make the experience complete. What a night! When having a few spare hours in Tallinn, don't hesitate and book this tour. Relaly. You won't regret.
This tour with guide, Sten, was our favourite time in Estonia. We learned so much about Estonian people and their history while experiencing the stunning countryside. The bog was definitely our favourite part but the manor, castle and seaside village were also hugely interesting and beautiful. Thanks so much to Sten for making our day very special.
A fun way to spend an evening in Tallin.
This tour was truly amazing. A perfect balance of nature trails, manor houses and coastlines with plenty of hidden gems mixed in. I really enjoyed the traditional Estonian lunch too. Our guide was superb with great energy, humour, knowledge and engaging storytelling. Thank you for such a special day!
JJ was a great guide. Knowledgeable and explained on some history as well. He was not in a rush to finish the tour. Lunch was excellent!
We had the best day on this trip. Great history, great guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Loved every second! Thank you very much to Sten!
Don’t miss this beautiful nature in Estonia:) i really enjoyed this tour. Our guide is knowledgeable and nice, and I really loved every moment. The path in the park is flat and is not too long walk, so all generations could participate in and enjoy it.
This is definitely one of my best days during my visit to Estonia. The forest scenery is amazing. Love the bogs and scot pines very much! Lina (I hope I spell it right) is a very helpful tour guide who made good arrangements and also being super funny and friendly. Nice trip!
Our tour guide had a good command of English and it was fun to chat with him. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable throughout our journey.
Marju was a great tour guide. She was knowledgeable and shared facts in an interesting and relatable way. I really enjoyed the walk through the bog, which was like nothing I had ever seen before. I tossed a rock onto a pile of rocks at the beach, an Estonian effort to bring good luck. I even managed to convince Marju to reveal the secret location where she picks mushrooms...nah just kidding! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
The tour was informative and the guide JJ's sense of black humor made the tour all the more fun.
Great tour for those who want to venture out and see more of the areas outside Tallin centre. Was not disappointed. Particular highlights were the visit to the Prison Quarry, the waterfall and surprisingly for me, the Russian cargo plane. Marju is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide, giving the group great insight into the places we visited and history. The tour is great value for your money and I highly recommend.
It was really nice. My guide was so kind. She care about people and let us know lot of historical things. It is good to understand about Estonia. The important thing is the landscape was so beautiful. All the places are nice.
View, food, guide, all great.
During this tour you have the chance to visit Jagala waterfalls, to walk into the forest, to visit a manor and to walk through dark small lakes hiding swamps. It's been a very interesting trip, the part I preferred the most was the path among the lakes, I found it very naturalistically suggestive. There are also some legends related to these places coming from ancient estonian people that concurs in creating a particular atmosphere. Our guide, Jevgeni, was highly qualified, super friendly and very kind with all of us. The fact that this tour is organized with a small number of people it allows to create a confident and cozy atmosphere in the group. You also have the chance to eat some delicious traditional food in a folkloristic tavern. Don't miss this opportunity!
The day tour was very well run and we had an enjoyable outing with a professional guide who volunteered lots of information on the background and history of the places we visited. He mixed well with all the guests and we shared lots of fun.
I enjoyed an interesting walk in Estonia's countryside. The guide provided many details, the restaurant was authentic and the food delicious. The Baltic seaside was perfect! highly recommend!
I loved getting out of the swarms of your groups in Tallinn and into nature. Our guide was very knowledgeable about so many topics including history and ecology all the while being approachable and funny. The bog, forest, villages and sea shore we visited were stunning. Highly recommend! Only regret was that blueberry season had already past!
Wonderful tour to discover the Lahemaa National Park. Thanks to Oliver for appreciate us this National Park at few kilometers from Tallin with his competent explanations. Excellent organization. Michele Italy
The guide was excellent and the sights most interesting. It could be improved with headsets and the guide giving more of the history and politics of Estonia, especially during the quiet time between stops, we are generally ignorant of Estonia and would appreciate more information.
The guide was lovely and gave excellent explanations about the things we saw. Would have liked to be able to go into some of the abandoned apartments to see what Life was like in Soviet times. It was also a big coincidence that I met my high school principal on the same tour on the same day! I graduated from high school in Toronto in 1981 and the former principal is now 85 years old!
Our guide's dry humour was perfect and we both thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Particularly liked the bog walk and local food (he had eaten his potato porridge with egg and bacon topping before my food had arrived). Lots of history and local knowledge too.
This was a highlight on our trip to Estonia, down to our excellent guide Oliver, who also goes by 'Ollie' or 'Hey!' The bear impression was spectacular, and his knowledge of the wildlife made for an interesting listen. Oliver was extremely approachable and provided an easy-going environment for the 8 of us on the trip. Very easy to reach the meeting point at Tallinn, for a prompt departure, where we were driven by car see Jägala Waterfall, Viru bog and the coast, while stopping at an excellent restaurant (and reasonable) for lunch, with traditional Estonian dishes and drinks. I would thoroughly recommend the day trip - reasonable and enjoyable.
It was very interesting and guide knew everything ja told as lot about eastern Estonia.
Stan was an excellent guide who spoke exceptional English and was very knowledgeable. He was keen to assist and at no stage did he rush the tour. The restaurant had nice atmosphere and there was a wide selection of food.
I had a very nice day despunte the Rain. Cool explanations, nice seightseeings. The perfect tour if you have only one day and want to see the best of Lahemaa national Park.
This is a great tour, Andres our tour guide was personable, had these wonderful tidbits about nature, history etc. I also 7 other wonderful people on the tour from various countries. Walking in the bog, snacking on wild blueberries, cranberries! It was good communing with nature, this was followed by a hike in the pine forest, which opened onto a beach , walk along the beach to a fishing village and finally on an Estonian village swing. All and all a wonderful tour. Highly recommend it.
We had absolutely great day trip and enjoyed everything, Thanks a lot Andres!
Very nice tour with Jevgeni, the parc was amazing and he gave us as much information as we wanted. Definetelty a tour to make if you stay in Tallinn!
Great guide. Fascinating and fun stories about the buildings and history of Tallinn. We would recommend it to anyone with a evening to spare in Tallinn.
Marju was a wonderful tour guide and she answered all my questions during our bus rides between the stops. Loved seeing the sunken prison and the old Soviet plane - so cool! Highly recommend the tour to see outside the city for a day.
Appreciate the pur air and its wild nature is an integral part of the program for all travellers who put their invisible footprint in the Baltic countries. The Lahemaa National Park offers one of the most appropriate frameworks for ! Well-versed and knowledgeable, our Traveller's guide Olivier knows how to make an intermediation between these bogs, moss, blueberries and mushrooms growing in these forests and us, passengers. Our guide shared with us the generous and sober charms of Estonia. Furthermore, Traveller's backoffice team is nice and flexible :) THE tour to do !
A really great day trip from Tallinn. A must see for anybody in Estonia for a few days. The Viru bog is beautiful, make sure to bring swimming attire for the chance to swim in a bog pond, truly memorable. Our guide Gregor was fantastic and really informative and passionate about showing Estonia, he answered all my questions.
easy but interesting trip! our guide JJ is vey nice!
You really have to go to Lahemma. Theres really only one thing to do here, and that thing is a must see; theres an hour walk on a boardwalk through the heart of the bog, and its great, since a bog is such a weird environment. It feels bad to drive an hour, do an hour of an activity, and drive back, and they don't; they really do a good job of making it into a real days worth of activity.
I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore more than just the old town of Tallinn and who is interested in the post Soviet space if Estonia. Our host Hannes was extremely knowledgeable and approachable both in respect of the tour itself and life in current Estonia. We covered a lot of ground from waterfalls to ex Soviet nuclear facilities to an authentic Russian meal to an old antonov transport plane now the headquarters of a model aircraft club. I'm only sorry that I missed the Narva trip but I intend to book that in advance when I next visit this fascinating country. Cheers Hannes and cheers to traveller tours!

The tour was an amazing day; Oliver was a very friendly and open guide, readily answering questions and sharing experiences. The nature is beautiful, much more than I expected. However, we still have to pay for lunch, and don’t go into the manor; for this reason, I found it too expensive
The guide was very nice and professional. He took us to the waterfall and forest, and told us about many stories about the bog and mushrooms and Estonians. That was more than expecatation.
I definitely enjoyed my tour there and Oliver, our guide, was really professional and always smiling. I would definitely join this company again.
Lahemaa is definitely an interesting option if you're looking to do a day trip out of Tallinn. The trip was a nice overview of the Estonian countryside and geography outside of the capital. The bogs and beaches were the most interesting parts of the tour, and I wish we could have seen more of the park's natural features. The greatest value I took from the trip was Uku's commentary. He provided some fantastic insights on Estonian history and culture, and it was fascinating to hear some of his family's experience during and after the Soviet era.
I loved to be inside the nature. The forest, bogs, fall, sea all things were I never seen before and they made me peaceful. and I also liked the history guide explained to us, and of course the food too. I enjoyed a lot for whole day and I absolutely recommend this tour.
Great chance to get out of Tallinn and see some of the big that Estonia is famous for. The highlight was a wonderful swim in a bit lake and the huge village swing. Great guide.
The guide, Oliver, is excellent. He is humour, knowledgeable, friendly and taking good care of us. The tour is perfect, especially with the walk in bog under a lovely weather.
Wonderful experience and excellent tour guide.
Each location are beautiful, but walk around and photo time is a bit rush. Tour guide explanation are very detail (although I only got it around 60% understanding)
First of all, the bog in the lahemaa park is a must-see for every tourist in Tallin or Estonia in general. The bog is very unique and the trail is beautiful. We also thought the other stops were a nice addition! The beach was actualy really nice and calming and I wished I could've sit there for like 30 minutes just watching the shore. Though the trip on it's own was great, our guide was maybe even greater! Ollie (Oliver) was very enthousiastic and told us many things about the nature we didn't know. He let us try edible berries and answered all our questions about Estonia in general. He is an amazing guide! Would definitely recommend this trip!
I took the Lahemaa National Park Day Tour which is definitely a highlight in my trip in Tallinn. I would like to give my special thanks to my guide Hannes. He is knowledgeable about local, curious in history and respectful to nature. Going on a tour with him is like a vivid biology class back to school. Thank you all for such a well-arranged tour! I would definitely recommend it to my friends who would visit Tallinn in the future.
The tour was up to only 8 people so, even though we just met, the atmosphere was close and very comfortable. Our guide was kind and funny that I enjoyed listening to him a lot. He told us about the history of Estonia and the relationship they had with the soviet. Not only did I enjoy the sightseeing but also the conversation with the local guide and it definitely is an unforgettable memory for me!
J'ai passé une excellente journée, super guide, beau paysage, bon repas. Je recommande
It's well worth doing this tour - I felt I got a real insight into life in Estonia. Our guide Ollie was friendly, helpful and very informative. He took us to beautiful places and we got to see the wonderful Estonian countryside.
Really really nice tour !! Lucky that the weather was perfect but might be also beautiful when is not !! Nature in Estonia is so nice and it wasnt crowded at all as the old town :) a must to do list
The sites we went to were interesting and unexpected. It was nice to get outside and out of the city. It was a bit too much time squished into a minivan between the sites. Our group was very quiet and not chatty, so maybe if there had been more guided conversation while driving it would have felt less awkward/boring.
We were taken in a very small group to Laheema reserve, all stops were leisurely. Our guide Oliver was brilliant and really made the day special. Our lunch stop was at a lovely local place and the food was great. It was a glorious day in the sunshine!
We had Katrina who was really interested in the fauna and the history of Estonia in general. We all learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves. It was a very pleasant day and we were made to feel very comfortable. Katrina was really accomodating and asked us if we needed anything.
The tour was well organised and our guide was very informative. We went to the places around the national park where it is difficult to get without a car. I recommend the tour to everyone to find out about Estonian history and its nature.
It was a very great day with very nice people from all around the world. We saw a lot in just one day !! Everything was so lovely, beautiful. The timing was perfect, we were not running. The guide Reliika was lovely, she spoke a lot about the country, history, economy, landscape... She was very nice.
This tour gave us ample time at several unique sites (cliffs, manor houses, a traditional fishermen's village, a waterfall, and a bog boardwalk) that would have been hard to see without a car and significant knowledge of the area.
At first, we wanted to do another tour but lack of availability we, a little disappointed, took the cliff tour. We were pleasantly surprised by the tour thanks to our very good guide. We loved our day. In addition, our guide was not only very professional and friendly but also an excellent driver. Thank you very much for her.
I went on this trip with my son 11 years old not really expecing anything specific but "something interesting". As it turned out it was even far better than I expected. We got to see some really interesting places and a lot of beautiful sceneries. That itself would have been well worth the cost of the tour. But in addition our guide Robert was fantastic, he gave us a great history lesson about Estonia and created an exciting context to all we saw (and much more...). So both of us 49 and 11 years respectively were really satisfied with this tour and can recommend it to anyone no matter of age or interests!

Really amazing!
It was a wonderful tour at the national park, Our tour guide Hannes was friendly and fun. We learned a lot about the landscape and Estonian history. Loved everything about this trip. Thank you!
Very nice tour with Katharina. She gave us a lot of informations and it was very pleasant to discuss with her. A tour that gives a good overview of the national park
We had a great tour through some of the best vistas in the park. Our tour guide provided us with a thorough overview of Estonian history and culture, yet knew a bit less about the nature. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the tour and the casual atmosphere.
I really enjoyed this day trip to the National Park. The driver/guide drove very well (I'm often carsick so it is important). Then, the trip was well constructed the longest time in the morning so we can sleep and then we walked on the park. The bog is so beautiful and the view from the tower so stunning :) we also had the chance to taste traditional Estonian food : potato mash with bacon. I really recommend this trip !
The views in the Viru bog are breathtaking.
We had a fantastic tour with Andres in the Lahemaa National Park. Andres welcomed us with the following statement on his cap: Trust me I‘m a Tour Guide ;) He really was a great tour guide, knows everything about the nature & culture and had fun stories to tell.
good to recomend other people. It was what we expected.
It was a very interesting day knowing the nature, cliffs, forests, landscape and history of Estonia and having a great time with our excellent guide Katrin T
An interesting overview of the Estonian nature, history and food. We really enjoyed taking picture in the forest and in the bog, landscapes were stunning. Oliver (our guide) brought us to a typical tavern where we tasted traditional food. He was also kind enough to answer every question we asked about Estonia. The tour lasted 9h, hiking was quite easy and pleasant. Definitely recommended!
we loved the tour - very interesting, fun and relaxing. Thanks so much, for dropping us up at our place to stay there!
Great experience! Our guide was prepared, funny and gave us the best tour! A unique experience that everybody should live! Highly recommended!
A great tour around the Natuonal Park. Hannes was an excellent guide with lots of knowledge and a great sense of humour. The day was well organised with plenty of places to visit. Walking in the bog was the highlight.
We wanted to spend a day at Lahemaa but didnt know we would need an international drivers license to rent a car. Traveller's tour to the rescue! We booked this tour hoping it would give us a full day in nature, hiking, seeing the water and breathing in the fresh air and it did. Our guide Hannes obviously cared about history and we were glad to learn from him. Lots of walking on this one but easy flat and beach walking.
It is what one would expect from a National Park tour. A walk in the woods, exploring the natural beauty of Estonia. Also, the manor visit was interesting since it added a little element of history within the tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He tried his very best to make everybody welcomed and gave ample information.
It was good to be able to be with wonderful scenery The guide was bright and friendly
Thanks to the experienced nice guide, I and my wife could touch the Estonian nature and enjoyed it, even though changeable weather. In the nature park, we understood the relationship between the moss and the blue berry. Whenever I plant a tree of blue berry, I will remember the Lahemaa National Park.
What an informative and beautiful day. The walk through the bog and fishing village were real highlights. Lunch was fun in a traditional restaurant. Our guide!s knowledge of the history of the area and Estonia in general was mind blowing. All in all a great day out apart from many many mosquitoes near the coast.
Very interesting excursion. Well organized. Very kind and knowledgeable guide.
This was a really excellent and informative tour. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was equally amazing. From the 19th Century Bunker to the beach at Paldiski and the grounds at Padise Monastery, our guide Marju was full of energy and very knowledgeable about everything. She brought the past to life and together with Oliver, they were very friendly and contributed towards a very enjoyable day. The stop at the roadside cafe was good fun, allowing us all to get to know each other a bit more. The meatloaf was very tasty too! We took a walk at a park where the grounds were very impressive and filled with greenery. Our trip to the Rummu Quarry was a highlight with stunning views of a unique area. The chance to sit in a Soviet Cargo Plane was something I will never forget. Thank you Marju, Oliver and Traveller Tours for an unforgettable experience.
The highlights were two Soviet-related stops on the tour. First was an abandoned military bunker near the coast. We saw the bunker and then headed inside. It was much larger/longer than expected and we saw where the missile launchers had been. Another stop was an abandoned limestone quarry. After it was mined, there was no need to continue to pump out water, and so it naturally filled up-flooding low-lying buildings. Now that area is used as a local swimming quarry--swimming and snorkeling in clear water around the buildings that had been flooded. Quite unusual. Of course the views along the coastal cliffs were also lovely to see.
Lovely to venture beyond Tallinn to see a little of the Estonian Countryside and the west coast. We stopped at Nova Beach and Spitham Point - very pleasant. Saw Haspsalu castle and the railway station, but was disappointed we had no free time for a wander around Haapsalu on our own - especially as weather was beautiful.
Really enjoyed this day trip. Our guide Hannes was informative and also made the day lots of fun as well. Loved everything about this trip. We were a bit sceptical about the lack of choice for lunch but this ended up being a highlight of the day as food was great and well priced. We learned so much about Estonian history and also experienced the beautiful countryside.
I booked this tour after doing the Riga to Tallinn Tour with TravellerTours. Both were fantastic, this one was nice because you spent more time at the sights than in the van, due to the cliffs being so close to Tallinn. I'm terrible with names, so I forget our guide's name, but he was friendly and knowledgeable and made for a good trip. The lunch in Paldiski was also quite good, get the meat dumplings.
It was a wonderful tour at the national park, beautiful scenery, especially the viru bog. Our tour guide was friendly and fun. I learned a lot about the landscape and history of various sites.
Thanks for the interesting tour. Jevgeni was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. Beyond Lahemaa, Jevgeni's explanations gave us a glimpse into today's Estonia.
Merci à Oliver notre guide. Il a su répondre à toutes nos questions. Il nous a fait passer une super journée ! C’était génial !
Very nice Tour with a great guide. We've learned a lot about Estonia, as well as Estonians!
Such a fun and filling way to experience the culture of Estonia. Helen was amazing and made our day even better!! Thanks for the “Kama”it was our favorite. Can’t wait to make this at home. Helen has such love for her country and knowledge of the culture.
Last week, my family and I went on the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski Tour. We very much appreciated the beautiful and varied scenery but also the different historical sites. Our tour guide, Kert, was amazing: his knowledge and passion for history was truely fascinating ! We all really loved this trip !
It was an interesting day because we learned a lot about the country, landscape and nature. Our guide was very nice and did a great job. I recommend this experience.
We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the country's history and also about the places we visited. Amazing guide as well !
We really enjoyed our tour ! Incredible sights with a fun and knowledgeable guide is all you need to know. Definitely worth the money !
Very interesting and smiling guide The groupe was super cool Had a very good experience
Nice tour, nice food and great weather. The only thing that we have missed were the Viking stories.
Very professional guide Beautiful scenery!
Sehr schöne Tour in den Nationalpark mit vielen Informationen
The Lahemaa day tour was a beautiful experience. We enjoyed the trip, the places and we were pretty lucky with the fine weather. The tour was also very informative! Thanks also to the guide we had very nice tips for other destination of our stay in Riga.
A very interesting trip where the history and beauty of Estonian Nature are mixed equally. The visit inside the Antonov 12 is a must for aviation lovers! Very good work by our guide.
It was very nice. Will do again.
Hanna our guide went truly out of her way to make our tour both interesting and exciting. She shared many of her own experiences that helped us understand better both the food and culture of Estonia as well as life in Tallinn. We strongly recommend this tour with Hanna.
No better way to discover Laheema National Park. Our guide J-J was very friendly, provided us with so much information not only about the park and the different locations we visited but also giving us a glimpse into Estonian history, culture and way of life. Our group was lovely. We were in no hurry so we took our time to have lunch, walk and enjoy every moment. Definitely the best way to end my stay in Estonia. Highly recommended
We spent a beautiful day in Laheema Park. Our guide was always smiling, kind and ready to give us many explications. The path in the park was lovely ! We ate in a very good typical tavern ( the salmon was delicious !). We highly recommend this tour !
This was a wonderful and varied day. We walked through the bog (on the boardwalk), visited Estonia’s largest waterfall, ate lunch in a trad pub, walked round a Manor House, (outside only) and went to the beach. The bog was truly spectacular great bird life and scenery, the significance of this unique environment was starkly shown by walking a little way to see an area which was exploited for its peat. We splashed out on a private tour which was well worth it as we took it all at our own pace. I am so sorry I can’t recall our guide’s name but she is very good and informative.
Very good.
The tour was very comfortable and tons of fun. Our tour guide was amazing
One of my favourite day trips that we did on our holiday. Loved the contrasting places...waterfall, peat bog and sea...all equally beautiful in their own way! Estonia is a beautiful place to visit. The guide had excellent local knowledge and the trip was very well organised
The tour was very well organized in groups of 8 persons. The guide took us to see a watelfall, then a manor, then we walked through the forest and the bog (which was the highlight of the whole tour), we stopped for lunch, then went to a second manon, and finally visited a village by the sea, before returning to the city. The esthonian nature is really impressive. The guide was very well prepared and gave us a lot of colorful information about the people and the history of this small and beautiful country. The reason I do not rate the tour with 5 is the price, which was a little too high, and the lunch (but that is a matter of taste).
Brilliant in every way!!!!!! small group, no rush, inside knowledge, most welcoming!!! loved the swim in the bog lake!!!!! great lunch too!
I enjoyed every minute of this amazing tour and can highly recommend it! Our guide Oliver was super friendly, kind and caring about every person in our group! And Lahemaa National Park is so beautiful place. Thank you very much for showing us it! Cheers!
What a day. Superb adventure through the national park. Great tour guide. Sten was excellent throughout the day. He helped every single couple or person with questions about the day and their overall trips to Estonia and indeed the world, as Sten is very well travelled and totally loves his job and discussing the places we visited. The tour was well organised and all the places we visited were interesting. The timing of the day was good, ie enough time to visit places and not feel rushed. Food at lunchtime was excellent and in a wonderfully authentic tavern. We loved the whole day. Our favourite part was trekking through the bog and sipping our feet in the bog lake, so cold but really refreshing and it was a really hot day so we needed it! Loved it.
Always nice to see some of the surrounding area and this tour gives you a taste. The guides were informative and I was left feeling moved by what these people have been through the last 100 years.
This tour was definitely a highlight of my two week holiday exploring the Baltic countries. The Viru bog was my favorite - I really enjoyed walking along the boardwalk and taking in the beautiful surroundings. We were very lucky with the weather and the blue sky reflected perfectly in the bog lakes. Jevgeni was an excellent guide and we learned a lot about Estonian nature, history and legends.
The Viru Bog was astounding! What an opportunity to see Estonia's beauty. The Jagala waterfall was a gorgeous stream before its plummet- both were worthwhile viewing. Who'd want to miss a walk along the seashore and then the forest walk. All sights were key. The most astonishing facts were about Estonia's manor houses and the history of Estonia after world War II. Robert was an excellent guide who showed us Estonia's beauty and so much more!!!
We had an excellent tour with a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide, Oliver. The bog area was amazing and the rest of the tour was interesting as well.

This tour exceeded my expectations. I especially enjoyed the walk in the bog. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
Long tour but definitely worth it and I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to learn more about the Soviet times. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
A wonderful journey - - Wild blueberry grows under the pine tree every where (tasty 😋). Beautiful trail, amazing dark water , good +friendly tour guide. 😍
Enjoyed Viru Bog and Altjaa village
Well planned day with frequent stops to learn about Estonian history and present.
Katlin is a proper history teacher who kept us engaged and enthused as we struck east past storks and an elk (yes! -not guaranteed every day). From Narva we looked at Russia, Lenin, twin forts and the huge Krenholm cotton mill. Mining town Kohtla-Jarve, with garden city origins, shale bings and an Armenian restaurant (try the Georgian green lemonade, looks like absinthe), the model soviet Sullimae, which had some nefarious cold war purpose, and a not-entirely-abandoned mining village (some valiant residents still holding out with neat gardens against adjacent abandonment). Tolse Teutonic castle on the seashore and an interesting (yes) cement works started the day's visits. Be prepared for a long and stimulating day rich in recent and ancient memories. Thank you!
We had an excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide, Hannes. The bog area was amazing (and we could have spent more time wandering there) and the rest of the tour was interesting as well. The enthusiastic tour guide made the day trip hard to forget. Thanks for the memories.
Good guide, answered questions honestly and thoroughly. Glad we were able to do more hiking because the manor pond was reserved for a wedding. WOuld have been happy to skip the manor all together, especially since we didn't go inside anyway. The bog walk was my favorite - wish they had advised us to bring swimming gear!
I really wanted to learn about the Soviet occupation and see cities in the interiors of Estonia. It was a fantastic and informative tour. Our tour guide Kat was really good. Gave us ample information about the medieval history of Estonia and later on about the soviet occupation. We visited cities on the border town. Saw old abandoned castles/forts and some refurbished ones. This tour is not everyones cup of tea but if you are interested, I’d highly recommend it.
Great Tour. Nice local scout. 👍👍👍
Great Tour. Nice local scout. 👍👍👍
Our guide, Uku, was amazing! Friendly and full of facts he guided us through the Viru Bog and the mires of Estonian history. Visiting the Gulf of Finland's erratic boulders and the highest waterfall in Estonia were highlights. The two Baltic German majors we got to poke around inside were amazing as well. All round money well spent! I cannot recommend this highly enough!!!! :)
Great!
Four of us took a private Lahemaa National Park Day Tour with Andres. We had a great day out of the city walking on the trail through the bogs, enjoying the coastline and visiting manor houses and fishing huts. Andres was an excellent guide - knowledgeable and interesting and happy to answer our many questions. He also suggested a lovely seaside restaurant for lunch.
Merci pour cette belle journée de découverte nature et culture. C'est exactement ce qu'il nous fallait pour mieux découvrir l'Estonie. Tout était parfait avec un guide attentif qui aime faire partager les beautés de son pays.
A perfect day seeing far more than just Paldiski. Gregor took us to view cliffs so we begin with geology, and that led on to the waterfalls at a Manor House which was the place to briefly relate the history of the Estonians from pagan resisters to the present day. Greg is a proper historian who delivers his subject lightly and well. Then we turned up at a former Soviet missile base just as a rocket was prepared for launching on the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. On to some lighthouses, compounds of cars destined for Russia, and a nice pub lunch. Highlight was the amazing submerged prison quarry ( as seen on Abandoned Engineering TV prog) and lastly we boarded an Antonov Soviet plane. The guiding was just right, not too didactic. And we covered ground to see what we would have trouble finding without Greg. Thank you for a superb day!
We had a lovely time with this guided tour. The Viru bog was the highlight for us, but the waterfall, the fishing village of Altja and the lunch were also good! Our guide Sten was a gentleman and a scholar, both a well of knowledge and good in taking care of the group and engaging everyone individually. He even picked us all some tasty berries! Also, a good driver. Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend this tour. Well worth your money!

I highly recommend this tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. You’ll see a waterfall, a bog, 2 manors, and a fishing village while learning about Estonian history and way of life.
Liine was fantastic! She was incredibly knowledgeable about the national flora and fauna and helped us hunt for wild blueberries! She had just the right combination of knowledge, being in charge, friendly and helpful. The pace of the trip was just right. Enough time to do everything and we ever felt rushed to get to the next stop. Lunch was traditionally Estonian and plentiful (huge portions! ) I enjoyed the variety of places visited especially the swing!
We spent a magnificent day at the park. The guide was very nice, informative and gave us ample time to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature. Definitely would use these tours again.
A small group and it gelled so well. People from Germany(3), Malta(2) and Australia(3) and guided throughout the day by an excellent and expert guide who not only knew her stuff but described everything with such enthusiasm. Clearly a devoted patriot of her beloved Estonia. Oh yes, an excellent driver as well. The tour started(10 am)and finished(7 pm) in Old Town and there many highlights not least being the walk through the peat bog areas of the Laheema National Park and the visit to the traditional fishing village. Highly recommended!
The tour was excellent, as was the guide we had. It was a jam packed tour for a port day (part of a Baltics cruise) so the operator was amenable to customizing the tour and starting as soon as possible, first thing in the morning. The group loved the tour and, including myself, was thoroughly exhausted by the end of the tour. Will come to these guys again when I do an Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania trip!
I had an excellent time
We spent a perfect day exploring Estonian Nature, former way of life and got to know inside infos while having lunch in a traditional restaurant :)
The day in and around the Lahemaa national park went really well. The fact that you are in a small group does not make you feel like a package tourist ;-) We saw Estonia’s biggest waterfall, walked in pine forests, visited a traditional fishing village and as a highlight of the trip we made a tour in the Viru bog, an interesting wetland. Our guide was knowledgeable both about the nature as well as history and kept us entertained during the whole trip.

It was a sunny day, when our tour went to the Lahemaa National Park. That is the key point we very enjoy the trip.
A very nice day, full of discoveries. Outstanding views in the bog, very nice walk in a tiny fishermen village. We even tried an « Estonian swing »! That was a very nice experience in the nature and I recommend it.
Really impressive trip here
The guide Katharine is very nice and knowledgeable. The trip will allow you to get a real taste of Estonia's nature and know the country better.
A really great experience to visit Lahemaa. Our guide was very nice and kind. She gave lots of information about the sights, which were so beautiful. We enjoyed every second of this tour!
My family all said this was one of their favorites of our trip to Tallinn. Our guide Kert was great. Getting to see the old Soviet town, quarry/prison, abandoned base and cargo plane gave us a feel for life under the USSR rule. Getting to the coastal cliffs gave us some beautiful views.
The tour was very good. I really needed the nature time after being in the Song Festival crowds. Only issue was the rented vehicle. It had no air conditioning and had a gas leak somewhere. That made for an unpleasant drive between stops.
The tour was incredibly fun and interesting, with an excellent balance of history, culture and nature. Our guide was friendly, approachable an deeply knowledgeable.
I booked for this tour at the last minute and it was a good decision to do so. The natural beauty of the coastal cliffs and learning about Estonia in Soviet times made for an interesting day. Visiting the abandoned Murru prison quarry was a major highlight. Our lunch stop at a small restaurant/cafe was a chance to enjoy the best pastries I have ever eaten. The only reason I have not given five stars is because the tour did not visit the Padise monastery ruins as advertised - I am not sure why. Still, that apart, it was a really good day.
Had a great time on the tour. Saw a waterfall, some manor houses, walked through a bog and on the beach by the sea, and more. Our guide explained much about the history and present of the places. Also met some interesting people as all participants were from different countries. I definitely recommend the tour, especially if you have already seen the old town.
Although the weather was not at its best we had a very enjoyable to the Lahemaa National Park and surrounding with Marju. There is a great beauty in the still ponds and lush greens of the peat bog that is an antidote to the hussle and bussle in Tallinn. We also had a walk to the coast, which is very pretty and there are not many seas where swans can be seen. Getting to use the village swing (kiiking) was a nice bonus. Marju is a very informative guide and as well as explaining what we were seing, gave us a lot of insights of what life for Estonians is really like. So if you want to clear your head and breathe in some clean air while enjoying some unusual natural environments I thoroughly recommend this tour!
good service, friendly guide, a lot of information about the park and the estonian way of life and sunny whether! Great experience!
We had a nice day visiting Lahemaa with our Estonian guide, Sten, on Wednesday. We learned many things from Sten, not only history but also about nature, food, Estonian traditions, etc. We really enjoyed the hiking in Viru Bog, the town of Altja and the lunch in a traditional restaurant. It's really worth it if you want to get a real insight of this part of Estonia. Good value for money! Our trip mates from Australia, Germany and Slovenia were also fantastic, thank you all and thank you Stan!
The waterfall and the manor house are picturesque. The coastal cliff is simply spectacular, the highlight of the tour! We could spend the whole day wandering along the coast that covered with colorful wildflowers.
From the easy and punctual start in Old Town to the many interesting stops along the way this was a very well run tour. Excellent itinerary. Knowledgeable and prepared guide, Perfect weather.
The bog is an exceptionnal landscape. We appeciate the explanations about the plant and history. the restaurant was différent of the description : so we have been despite (a little) about the smoked salmon. The fisher ‘s village of Altja was very cute A visit in french would be to organize Furthermore, a flyer with explainations could help to understand
The bog is very interesting. The pace is not so fast and is suitable for family with kids and senior. Hannes is also very knowledgeable about plant and history. I have good time
We had a nice, informative and funny day, pleasant company and a really likeable guide with a comfortable way of driving. Recommendation!
There is so much more to Estonia than the old town of Tallinn. It was definitely worth my while to take this amazing tour - it was a small group (four of us in total) and we saw the coast on the Gulf of Finland, a small fishing village and an impressive manor house but the big highlight was the walk through Viru Bog - it's on a narrow plank boardwalk but it's quite an easy walk with so much incredible plant life to look at. It's not necessary to be a biologist to appreciate the beauty of Lahemaa National Park. Our guide Marju was very knowledgeable and she gave us all the information we needed without it being an overload.
This tour was a great way to see the beautiful national park. The Altja area was absolutely stunning, where the eerie pine forest met the brilliant blue Baltic sea strewn with glacier-borne granite boulders. Also lunch at a local tavern was hearty and traditional. Our guide Hannes went in detail describing not only the natural beauty that we were witnessing, but also covering Estonian modern history of the last 200+ years, giving us some context around why Estonians love nature. He did it all with a great sense of Estonian dry humour. All in all a great day that I would highly recommend, even if you don't get the beautiful sunny day that we had.
A wonderful escape from town into different parts of Lahemaa National Park and time for a traditional lunch too. Easy hiking and great scenery with some culture and history too!
We learned a lot about the historical stories, the estonian people and how all this influenced the food. Furthermore we discovered new places and how estonians are living. We strongly recommmend this tour.
Interesting, informative and enjoyable food tour. From markets to restaurants to food stalls...tgis tour takes you on an Estonian/Russian exoerience. Highly recommend.
We had an excellent tour on 6/19/19. Very small group of 4 people plus our guide. Our guide was very informative and personable. Highly recommend if you want to learn about Estonia and see the countryside in a hassle free way.
The tour was very well organised, allowing me to appreciate different aspects of Estonia culture and history. My guide, Sten, was super attentive and was very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
A very interesting tour to the Cliffs , Country Park with Waterfall and onto Paldiski , a place that Fascinated me from afar ( Northern Ireland) A very informative Tour Guide who also took us to visit an old Russian Fighter Bomber . Not sure if our female guide was called Marju?
Katrin tried really hard to accomodate us. She tended to all our needs. I got to see parts of Estonia which I couklld not have seen on my own in a day. Very informative comentry. It is a part of the country that has been neglected and needs more loving. It will not blow your mind, but will give you another perspective of this beautiful country.
This tour was lead a very energetic & passionate tour guide (Andres). He took us around some very beautiful countryside and national park. Although he promised us bog monsters but I never seen any which was disappointing. He also took us to a lovely seaside restaurant for lunch which was great. Best part of the tour was to an Estonian person's house which is a Maritime museum (Excellent). I would strongly recommend this tour.
This tour was excellent. It was great to see the coastal area of Estonia which is very beautiful & quiet (great for nature lovers), and then on to a place which used to be a naval base in Soviet times (for me it had quite an eerie feel to it). The tour guide (Marju) was very friendly and answered any questions about the area & Estonia that I asked. Very pleased with this tour.
Our guide, Uku, was brilliant. He had a fantastic knowledge of his country & its history & with a great sense of humour & irony. I really enjoyed the trip. We got a good look at the countryside & coast. I just would have liked to have been shown on a map where we were visiting & the names of places. Overall, very good & good value.
Nice Tour to stunning landscape with waterfall swamps, Forest, manors ans a Village at the baltic sea. The drives between the stops were not too long, and the guide does not rush you through anything. The Restaurant was good with good prices and selection.
100 % recomendable.
Marju was great explaining and answering our questions and looked after our needs as my wife has angina. There was just the two of us. This tour was recommended by another guide as it was very relaxing but took in lovely countryside and sea. Marju took us to a lovely cafe for lunch which was inexpensive but great choice and quality of food
The tour was great and our guide Helen was an absolute delight. Her stories and storytelling really brought the spooky history back to life. Thank you so much!
Laid-back, fun trip to Lahemaa NP, in which you get to see a lot of different environments/areas. For me perfect way to be in nature and get out of the city for a day.
Our guide, Ray, was excellent. On this tour, you will learn things you will not learn on a regular walking tour. You find out about the dark history of the buildings you have passed. These legends are based on history and told in a fun easy way to understand. This tour would be engaging for teenagers as well. Ray, who is an historian, was also able to answer various questions we had about Tallinn and Estonian history that were not related to ghosts and legends which was an added bonus.
Great trip, guides (split group in two) very knowledgeable. OK so end of that. Personality of Andres was fantastic, really filled in the day both with humor and environmental/historical information in a lively manner. Gregor also gave his insights on Estonian life from a slightly different view- good team. The forest/ bog environment and the historical info was fascinating. Highly recommend this tour
The tour was great. We had 4 or 5 stops, very interesting places and the tour guide was friendly and told us different things at the different stops. Highlight was our meal in a museum. Thank you for everything
This was exactly the experience we were hoping for — a chance to see some interesting, beautiful, historic and quirky things in and about Estonia. The guide was great, the itinerary is smart and gave us exposure to a lot during the day. Absolutely worth it!
Six of us did the tour on Monday with the wonderful guide, Mia. Young but incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, Mia took us under the skin of Tallinn and we tried Russian food (soup and the ubiquitous potato salad), fabulous ice cream, different meats and bread, flavoured cream cheeses, fish salad, a traditional dessert and liqueur! All for €49 in 3.25 hours. Great value and we learnt so much about Estonian history as well as food traditions and local delicacies. We would never have found the food halls which were well worth a visit- we revisited for street food lunch the following day! Highly recommend the tour.
After a day or two in the Old City of Tallinn, it is good to see the other and more genuine side of Estonia - its nature and peacefulness. The day trip was truly enjoyable and the memories will stay for life! Even the bad weather could not stop anyone from enjoying the stroll through the Lahemaa's bog, forests, and shores. Combined with a friendly and knowledgeable guide, comfy car, and umbrellas waiting to save those who are less accustomed to pouring rain, there was nothing that could be better! Highly recommended to anyone who loves to step off the beaten track.

A great guide. Charming, pleasant, practical. Offered interesting comments, when asked, about larger socio-cultural patterns in Estonia as well as excellent short summaries from nature to history. A nice man. By chance a great, as well as diverse, group. PS Guide's name. I didn't take in. Thurs 24 to Laheema ...tall young man.
We had a great time to discover the nature and also culture of Lahemaa region, our guide Katrin is very warm and knowledgeable person. Love this tour and definitely recommend this tour!
This tour involves surprisingly little driving for a unique and varied experience. From viewing an 18th century manor house built on the fruits of serfdom and the timber, spirits and brick trade, to seeing the reemergence of the freedom to fish after Soviet times, we walked through a forest and an eerie bog, enjoying wildflowers along the way. All this was punctuated by a delicious home cooked meal where the owners have displayed memorabilia collected by their antecedents over many generations. Our guide was knowledgeable, accommodating, informative, communicative, helpful, empathic and had extraordinary competency in English as a second language. I found this tour to be an excellent day out and can unreservedly recommend it.
With blue sky and warm spring weather we started our beautiful trip through the Laheema national park. Our guide Uku was very friendly and besides explaining the various sites we visited, he was even up to chatting about Estonia and answering every question we had. Its not everyday you get such a nice guide. We especially liked our little hike through the bog. Also worth mentioning was our meal at a local restaurant. Tasty meals and good prices. We would totaly recommend anyone to take this tour. See you hopefully again beautiful Estonia!
The "Ghosts & Legends" tour was instructive and fun. It's also worth participating when it rains!
Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Estonia.
I never thought I could be so funny to go hiking with eight strangers from different countries. But I had an awesome day!! Andres was an amazing guide, told us a lot about everything and knew answers to nearly every question. We visited nearly everything I had on my personal list of places I wanted to see and I couldn't be happier about it. The lunch was really tasty too and I could also choose a vegetarian one which I really preferred because I don't like fish. There was plenty of time to discover every place we visited and when it was over after nine hours I felt like we just had started. I would definitely recommend and do it again!
The day was super-easy, relaxed and enjoyable. Our tour guide Andres was really informative and enthusiastic, and the day was well-organised and professional. Really recommend this company if you want to get out and about and see a bit more of this wonderful country!
There was a lot of good information passed on and many things to see and understand. Just went over my photos and am happy with the results. Guide and guide helper were both down to earth and made sure we were gettng it. Both are obviously proud of their country and like showing it off.
We had two guides for this tour who were both excellent and complementary. Got to see a lot on a perfect weather day. What a joy to be out of the city for a day. Had a delicious lunch at the maritime museum. Learned a lot. And they accommodated my mobility issues as well, so that I only skipped one walk later in the day.
What an incredibly enriching experience! Estonia is so much more than Tallinn, as this tour so expertly and entertainingly shows. We were graced with some good weather but I would have enjoyed this trip even in the pouring rain. We got to see Estonia’s tallest waterfall (I won’t spoil the height, but keep in mind that any waterfall is a miracle in the flat Baltics), the miraculous and ancient bogs, restored and unrestored manor houses, and some amazing coastal villages that shed light on life outside of the city both past and present. All was supplemented by the riveting and impossibly vast knowledge of Andres, whose expertise made this trip particularly special. I plan to return to Estonia to be able to experience more of these trips and see what else this magical country has to offer!
Kerr did a great job showing us a lot near and around Narva. He explained the history well and as we were on a private tour he also adapted the schedule when we asked to visit an additional site. It was a great day!
Very interesting tour, our guide was excellent and we went to many places. Would have liked to have a bit longer in Narva. It was a long day.
I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour! Booking was incredibly easy, then we headed out in a large and comfortable van. The group was small so our guide easily customized it to some of our interests. Having a guide for the abandoned Soviet sites is necessary - there is so much to see. Andres also knew the best spots to see the underwater prison from! I really highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in the Cold War, as well as a desire to see the ocean.
Guide was excellent and took us to many places. She was very helpful and knowledgable. Unfortunately I can't remember her name.
I had an excellent tour guide Krislin. Her native town was Kohtla-Järve and she gave us a lot of information about this eastern part of Estonia. Many thanks! The tour is an excellent mixture of old (Toolse fortress, Narva castle+memorial of 1700 battle) and new history (WWII, Soviet era) together with industrial heritage (oil shale mining, Kreenholm factory). A contract of walking in a "ghost town" and in Sillamäe was unbelievable. The distance of 210 km gave me a perspective of a size of Estonia and of her fields and woods which we were passing.
Second time lucky taking this tour. Glad I made it this time. The whole day was interesting. Especially the walk through the wetlands and the sea museum. Our guide JJ was Personable and had good knowledge of Estonia. I particular liked the options and flexibility he offered.
This tour was a great way to see nature outside of Tallinn, both in terms of the walk through the bog and a couple visits to different parts of the coast, Jevgeni did a great job!
We discovered interesting historical places along with beautiful views of beaches, a cliff and a waterfall. The guide explained in a very clear way the history and the most important events of Estonia that are mandatory to get know if you travel to this region. I strongly recommend to take this tour if you travel to Tallin/Estonia.
I really enjoyed this tour. Andres was very knowledgeable about the different places we visited. He also took us to a part of an old Soviet base to see some specific he talked about. His perspective on the recent history of Estonia made the tour even more interesting. I would highly recommend this tour and Andres as a tour guide.
Spectacular tour just outside Tallinn. We visited the bogs (astonishing colors and landscapes), a waterfall, the forest and the seaside, with stops at a fisherman village and an historic palace. The guide was very knowledgeable and enjoyable, the walks easy and balanced. Strongly suggested!
A nice trip, showing us a rural Estonia which in many ways differs from the urban and modern city of Tallinn. Out guide was pleasent, knowledgeable and quite funny. You should perhaps search for a lunch arrangement with more typical Estonian food traditions?
Buena organización, recogiendo los principales puntos fuertes del parque. Quizás eché de menos un poco más de senderismo a través del parque, pero para una jornada estuvo bien. El guía aporta mucho a la dinámica del grupo y la excursión.
The guide was very prepared and made us enjoy our tour! My advice is: do it because it's worth it!
Was a Great Tour with cool and top guide Marju and helps fromSigrid as we had to Drive in two Cars as a big Group! Russland Food was great. Helpfulminformation and a lot of History with Scenic coast interestings and surprising Spots ! Thanks for this experience!
It’s not what I expected- it’s better! My guide is professional and enthusiastic so I learn so much about not just the park but also the history of Estonia. The lunch is also a surprise.
I enjoyed the tour very much! There were a lot of very interesting dark stories (some ghost stories, some based on actual history) about various places in the Old Town, and our guide was fun and enthusiastic throughout, throwing in many quirky details. Would definitely recommend! (Just as a note, I always love to see a guide in some sort of historical costume, but I totally get that that's often just not possible. Even so, maybe a suggestion for the future...)
A little bit expensive but it’s worth it! There are a lot of stops and every place of the tour is amazing.
The food tour was great...Helen was not only tried her best to explain about food but also gave an interesting overview of Estonian Culture...restaurants/eateries selected for the tour were great too... overall it was fun and would definitely recommend it to every first time visitor.
Wonderful day in the national park. We were lucky with the weather so we had the chance to enjoy even more this great experience. The guide was amazing. Very nice and funny taking time to share with us her knowledges of Estonia. I truly recommend this visit outside Tallinn. It gives the possibility to discover more this beautiful country
Andres was good company and his insight on the estonian way of life added a lot to the experience. The 50€ was totally worth it. The places we visited were inpiring, offered a lot of variety and the small size of the group helped to keep the stress level down. The day was very relaxing and rewarding in many ways.
Marju took us on a tour of Haapsalu and West Coast. The weather was beautiful with blue sky and a brisk wind (Wrap off warm against the wind!) First stop was the rail station with abandoned Soviet trains, which was a reminder of the control and grandiose of the past, as well as the Soviet regime. We saw some lovely landscape at the North West of Estonia, and a picture postcard town of Haapsalu. There were some interesting medieval forts and ruins with ghost stories (The White Lady!) too. Marju took us to a fabulous cafe in Haapsalu for lunch. Here we were served the dish of the day and the loveliest cheesecake by a patient and friendly lady manager. We liked this tour - it was enhanced by Marju's personal experience of the Soviet, and her passion and interest in the state of the country and the EU. We thank you for a great Estonia experience!
Despite the cold and rainy weather this was a really fun and interesting tour. Haapsalu is beautiful.
The tour was very interesting and a lot of fun. Kert is an amazing guide.
We were the only two on this tour with Helen, a friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed blinis with whitefish roe, sour cream and sprats at Poppy Seeds, followed by a very filling visit to the pastry shop where we had TWO huge pastries each! The next stop was a main meal with chicken and pork shashlik in a Russian pub - quite an experience. Very very full now, we visited a renovated market to buy some Kalev sweets to take home. The last stop was at a modern pub where we enjoyed a typical dessert made of ground grain, berries and whipped cream washed down by Vana Tallinn liqueurs. This was a good tour seeing a Tallinn suburb where we observed regeneration sympathetic to local character and went to eateries we would not have visited on our own. We thought that the food was good, though I have to say that the pastries at the second stop were too much! Heleen was a lovely, outgoing and sociable young woman - our experience was enhanced by her enthusiasm and interest in us.
There were four of us on this tour with Marju, a very knowledgeable and patient guide. We saw an amber waterfall at Jagala, enjoyed an unique hike through Lahemaa's bogland, an atmospheric old 'German' manor house, a typical seaside village with a 'pub' and swing, and visited a quirky maritime museum with a Soviet watchtower on the coast. Lunch was at a traditional pub serving typical food. All in all, it was a great day out seeing a great deal of this part of Estonia. Marju told us about its history, heritage and the natural landscape. Varied, interesting and full schedule....
We went on two tours with this company: a free historical walking tour and a paid ghost tour. The tour guides are very knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining. Both tours were different and had almost no overlap, so it was nice to go on both to get different experiences and see more of the city.
It was a really great day trip to unusual sights if that what you like! The coastal views, the prison, the waterfalls and ex Soviet history, it was all amazing and Kert's extensive knowledge of the areas and history was brilliant!! Pick up and drop off were timely and lovely stops for breaks too. Thank you!!
:)
We enjoyed a winter-Lahemaa very much. The guided tour was excellent and informative, not only about nature and scenery, but also historical and socio-cultural backgrounds.
Apart from able to visit and participate in the Viru Bogs at Lahemaa National Park, I get to understand and know more about Estonians and their way of life from a local tour guide, those information and stories are really interesting and priceless! The guide also brought us to a private museum which is a true sailor’s home, which makes the trip very personal and memorable! I would highly recommend this day tour!
Marju was a great guide and host; she has a fresh and positive energy and is very knowledgeable of Estonian history and culture. The sights visited were beautiful... a taste of Estonia beyond Tallinn, which makes you want to see more of this enchanted country.
We had a great day out with Jevgeni on the 26th December 2018. It was so lovely to see a range of landscapes in and around Laheema across the day, especially with someone who knows the way and is used to driving in the snow. Jevgeni was an entertaining and informative guide, and we especially enjoyed the stop at the kiiking swing and the amazing lunch at the Kasmu captain's cottage.
We had an amazing time on the tour. The day itself was perfectly balanced between the various activities/sights. Liine was an incredible guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and her stories about Estonian folk tales were really interesting. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Tallinn.
Fui a Coastal Cliffs. Estaba frío pero había un lindo sol que nos permitió disfrutar de los acantilados y la cascada de Keila. La guía fue excelente, muy amable.
Our group was only made of four people incl. our guide. Kert is a jung very openminded guy. He had a lot of information and knew perfectly how to entertain our little group. The weather was just great. The sun was shining and we had warm temperatures. The melting waterfall, the hike through the wetlands and having a look to that quirky museum at the beach was just wonderful. I absolutely recommend you to do that tour!
The tour was a fun way to learn new facts of the city, the buildings and the history of Tallinn. We really enjoyed! Our guide was marvelous, she could really make the history alive. The tour was little over 90 minutes, which was just perfect length for a chilly night. The walk is not too long and only a moderate amount of stairs. Would highly recommend!
The winter version of this tour rocked! Petting a frozen waterfall, hiking through softly silent snowtopped pine tree forests, making our way through the mysterious bog, visiting a lovely small maritime museum with original owners running it and still getting a beautiful coastal sunset view of glacial rocks by the shore. I’m very happy to have taken this tour, super comfortable with good amount of hiking. Jevgeni is a great guide, very local, down to earth, openminded and keen to adjust according to the group’s needs and ideas. On top of that, good humour with good knowledge of all sorts of things. Thank you again! Don’t forget to bring cash for onsite food/snack purchases!
Experience is good
Really lovely people to deal with and they were super helpful as it was a slow time of the year! This gives beautiful scenic views and aome very interesting history. The guides are young and vibrant and I have athritis in my foot so a bit slow and not qyite sure on my feet and our guide was brilliant and ever so helpful and understanding! Totally recommend
light hearted but exciting and interesting tour of the Old Town at night - and the various horrors that have befallen many an unlucky person over the centuries!
My husband and I took the Laheema National Park daytrip. The first thing I liked about it was that it was a small group tour. We had six people all together, and the maximum per tour is eight. Our guide, Andreas, was very knowledgeable and personable. We got to see some lovely sights including the national park, manor homes, and the seaside. We ate lunch at the quirky maritime museum: fresh salmon, potatoes, brown bread, and apple cake prepared by the proprietors, who lived in the museum (we also got to meet their adorable dogs). I would recommend this tour to anybody.
Definitely worth taking this tour. Great day out. Guide was really knowledgeable and whole day was really informative. I went in winter but I would definitely do this tour again in summer to see another side to the park
Liked the walk in the National Park, the guide and the lunch and the waterfall Day was bit too long as went to other places didn't need to like a museum at the seaside
Petit groupe de 7 personnes très sympathiques. Guide très compétente et très agréable. Un tour dépaysant et intéressant à ne pas manquer.
We took the tour on New Year's Eve with Andres as our guide. He was great & shared loads of interesting details about life in Estonia throughout the day. The lunch was delicious, the board walk was snowy & scenic and there was a lot of variety in this tour. I'd happily recommend it.
We booked this tour very much at the last minute, and we were so glad we did! There was only one other person on the tour, so it definitely didn't feel like too large a group. Jaan was absolutely lovely, and really knowledgeable – as well as being really patient in answering all of our questions. The highlights of the day for me were walking across the Viru bog, which was beautiful, and visiting the coast. Thank you so much for a wonderful tour!
Makesure you wrap up if you do this in Winter. It was a great tour, but I was so cold, I was glad for the end hot drink to warm me up, at the end Good walk across Old Town with a bit of history.
The tour was great and well-run! Love the beautiful scenery of the forests. Being in a small group also means there's more interaction and flexibility. Thanks Andres!
This was such an interesting and informative tour. As we were only in Tallinn for a few days we wanted a tour that would encompass as much as possible . This certainly did, we saw so much and learnt so much history from our guide who was so knowledgable. We had a wonderful time and was money well spent.
We had a great day with Kert and especially enjoyed the abandoned town, which looked great in the snow! It's a long day but there's plenty to see and it's an excellent way to see a bit more of the country outside Tallinn. Kert was a nice guy and a great driver too!
+ : •beautiful landscapes •awesome guide, he knows well what he speaks about and adds a lot of interesting stories, thank you •lunchtime was perfect •good adaptability - : •may be too many stops (the manor by example) in this short sunlight period •we would have prefered starting the day earlier (why not 9h in winter ?) to have one more hour of sunlight •it was sad to cannot see more the fishermen town in more global view than the little museum Our tour was special because of an engine problem of our minibus. We loose about more than one hour so surely saw less things than during a normal tour. It can impact this little review !
The guide took us to Estonia biggest waterfall and then to the magic Lahemaa National Park. After a typical Estonian lunch we visited a Manor House and a fishing village by the sea, with a very interesting stop at Kasmu museum. Andres was very passionate and knowledgeable and made our day in nature an unforgettable one.
Really interesting tour which covers lots of picturesque spots in the old town but most of all Ray was a great tour guide!
Highly recommend this two hour walkabout in the old town of Tallinn. Our guide Mirjam, a professional guide with extremely intresting way of telling stories, taught me many new historical and other nice-to-know detals about Tallinn. We could have listened to her stories all night! This tour was the highlight of our two day stay in town.
Wonderful experience of the Estonian countryside and heritage with very joyful and knowledgeable guide (Jevgeni)!
We saw a lot of things that we can't see without your trip. We saw a part of Estonian land different from Tallinn. Our guide Marju was great and very professional, she told us a lot of things about history, people and tradition of Estonian country. We also had a very good lunch in a very beautiful small restaurant in Haapsalu. Congratulations for your organisation of the trip and for the best guide MARJU!!!! I'll suggest TRAVELLER.EE to all my friends that will come in Tallinn.
This really was a terrific tour through some of the highlights of the Lahemaa National Park. Marju was a brilliant guide - knowledgeable and funny, and all of the stops were really interesting - a welcomed break from the streets of Tallinn. Would strongly recommend - particularly the option of a delicious lunch at the Fishing Village museum. The highlight of our trip to Estonia - thank you so much - particularly to Marju! Diolch!
The national park was unique and intriguing. Helpful and friendly tour guide, who offered interesting information about the park. Very good lunch. Nice experience.
As an expert in History, Marju could tell us a lot about old Estonia in general and about all the places we visited: the former Sovjet military town Paldiski, the ruins of the old monastery in Padise, the Sovjet transport airplane and the Murru prison quarry. We also got a lot of fun information about Estonians. An absolut fantastic tour!
A great trip if you want to see something of Estonias countryside! Nice stop at the Jägala waterfall (the biggest waterfall in Estonia), walking through the Viru bog and the wetlands, hike along the coast in Altja and an interesting stop at Käsmu village with the private maritime Museum. We learned a lot about the country and its people from our guide.
Was lucky enough to catch this tour while we were in Tallinn. Our guide Ray was extremely knowledgable and fun; the walk lasted just under two hours taking in most of the old town as the sun set adding to the eerie feel of the tour. Highly recommended if you happen to be visiting Tallinn and are interested in an alternative guided tour.
We had the awesome JJ take us around the beautiful Lahemaa National Park. Everything about the tour was great - from the two walks along the coast and the bog, to the delicious lunch and manor houses. JJ was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable, funny and attentive. If you were to do one tour in Estonia, it has to be this!
It was great to see all the outdoor beauty that exists in Estonia. Plus you learn about the local nature and a bit of history about the country.
This is the most Estonian day during our stay! The tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable with the history and culture of Estonia and very thoughtful on our need, and also recommended us many Estonian food during lunch time. The national park is without a doubt a stunning place to get away from the hustle and bustle from the cities. Oh and we enjoyed playing on a traditional Estonian swing very much.
The trip gave an overview of Estonian landscape and history, mainly from the Soviet domination times
Though Tallinn is absolutely lovely, I was eager to experience some of Estonia's famous nature! This day trip to Lahemaa National Park did the trick! Although it was chilly and rainy, our little group still had a great time. The bog walk is absolutely beautiful, and our other stops provided a diverse set of experiences and views. Plus, Andres was a knowledgeable, friendly, and funny guide. It was a great trip, and I'll happily take another day trip with Traveller if and when (!) I return to Estonia.
The stories give an interesting look into Estonian culture. The stories are a mix of ghost stories and darker historical anecdotes but regardless of whether they were fact or fiction, I learned more about how Estonians view themselves and their city.
Hindrek told a lot about the sightseeing, but also about Estiona itselfs. Hindrek told it on a very interesting way and was very well known en could almost give answer to all our questions. He told us also al lot about the history of Estiona and the Estonia society. Thank you for the very good tourguide!
I had a wonderful day. It was all great
This was a really nice trip through a fantastic nature park, forest and along the sea. It's a must. Group of 12 with 2 guides.
So peaceful out there and i really enjoyed to escape the city. Wish I could stay longer. Thanx to Andres for making this day so amazing with his lovely episodes about the estonien und their beautiful nature and traditions. All the best and keeps it up!
I had never been to Estonia and knew very little about its history, so this tour was incredibly interesting. The pick-up spot is very conveniently located near the town square, and the mini-bus that was used was very comfortable despite being completely full! The sea cliffs and the waterfall/park were beautiful. The various stops that highlighted the Soviet history of the country were incredible, as well - especially the old Soviet base that had been abandoned in the early 90s. I'm so glad I found this tour online - I really think it was a unique trip that most people who are visiting Tallinn for a short period wouldn't get to experience. I highly recommend!
The tour is a very good mix of Estonian nature (cliffs) and history (ruins of a monastery) as well as a distant Russian past (Peter the Great) and not so distant (ruins of a Russian air-missile base, an Antonov cargo plane).
I booked this tour so that t could experience a bit more of Estonia outside of Tallinn. We were driven to the park and saw some beautiful examples of nature. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable and she made everyone welcome. I would certainly recommend this experience.
It not only for national park touring, but also could see more northern estonian contry side view. The guild was professional, they would like to share many things about Estonia.
It not only for national park touring, but also could see more northern estonian contry side view. The guild was professional, they would like to share many things about Estonia.
A fun and interesting day out in Lahemaa National park. Our guide Andres took us to Estonia’s largest waterfalls, an old manor house, a few fishing villages and on a walk across a bog. Throughout the tour we learned a lot about Estonian culture and history as well as details about how traditional houses were built and the local flora and fauna. We stopped for lunch at a homestead that claims to make the best smoked fish in the world - I am inclined to agree! All in all a fun day out that just flew by and excellent value for money.
It was very interesting to visit the national park. The trip was well organized, informative and fun. I believe it was such a great trip due to our guide Liine. She was extremely knowledgeable and informative. However, she should get six stars for her wonderful personality and outstanding sense of humor. She made our day absolutely awesome! Thank you Liine!!!!
This day trip provides a unique opportunity to see a very important side of Estonian life and countryside. Loved the fact that the group was small and we could have a more intimate experience with the environment and people. Andres was an engaging and very knowledgeable guide. Highlights for me were the bog walk and lunch.
Excellent full day tour (10 AM to 7 PM) to Lahemaa National Park that I would highly recommend for adults of all ages. Groups of 8 participants were self-formed for each van (there were 3 vans total the day of my tour) which had its own guide. There was a variety of activities which included visiting an historic manor house, hiking along the Bay of Finland and adjoining forest, visiting the highest waterfall in Estonia (height hint: remember that Estonia is basically flat), walking through the bogs on wooden planks, participating in a thrilling group swing, and enjoying a group lunch (additional cost) of salmon within the Park. Liine was the most amazing guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and enthusiastic. I asked her many questions regarding events in Estonia's history and all of her responses were thoughtful and comprehensive. I learned so much about Estonia as well as about the National Park from Liine's detailed responses to my questions. The sites visited on this tour along with the information and humor provided by our guide Liine were for me the highlights of my 5 days spent in Estonia.
Thank you Marju. Because of your passion we have learned so much of the history of your country. It was an excellent day in your company.
Hindrek was a calm guide but extremely knowledgable and able to bring the history (and political landscape) of Estonia in a very vivid way to the tourists. Enjoyed it a lot
We took a private tour asking to make it shorter. Our guide was so flexible and checked with our preference. He also provided detailed chats on Estonian history. We highly recommend the tour.
I joined the Lahemaa Park tour in September. We enjoyed lovely weather and our enthusiastic guide Jevgeni gave us an excellent outlook on Estonian history, how Estonia became what it is today. We visited manor houses, a lovely village and had a beautiful walk through Viru bog. Autumn yellows showed in the bog grasses and reflected in the water, together with a blue sky. It was a great day out!
This was a very interesting tour, looking back at life in Soviet times and how it has changed. Liine, our guide was very knowledgeable and we learnt so much about the past. Being able to stare into Russia from the very interesting Narva castle was a memorable experience. The trip is long but we stopped regularly in various places, where Liine explained their significant stories.
Best day tour I ever had to the Lahemaa National Park! Super fun and our guide Liine was super duper informative and fun! Thanks for the wonderful one day we had in Tallinn!
Laura was as enthusiastic as she was knowledgeable about all things Estonia! She took us to beautiful scenic views along the Baltic Sea, the lovely old manor houses, the monastic ruins and many other must-sees. The hike in Keila Vald along the waterfalls was a lovely break from the drive; Laura included a brief history lesson. She also included a few local offbeat places like an old Russian bunker and cargo plane, now used as a meeting place for the local teen flying club. With Laura’s expertise and great driving, it was a very enjoyable day well-spent!
Young energetic guide, totally into wanting everyone to have a great time. We had a fascinating 2 hour walk around the city listening to intriguing tales of Tallinn
We loved being taken through Lahemaa National Park by Hindrek (partly shared talking with Jevgeni who was also great pleasure!). We couldn’t imagine a more knowledgeable and fun guide to be with. We saw manors and villages, beautiful and quiet beaches and forests, we walked the bug and heard about Estonian history both in an informative and enjoyable way. To be recommended!!
Our guide was Hindrek and he was tremendous. He was highly informed about each area we visited, he had detailed answers to all of our questions, and he worked hard to make sure that we enjoyed our trip. He took the time to explain the region to us and he was never in a rush. The trip lasted longer than planned because he let us enjoy each site visit as long as we wished.
This was a great way of exploring the sights and cultural history of Estonia beyond the city walls. A whirlwind trip through the countryside including old manor houses, waterfall, the bog boardwalk and hidden beaches. Lunch was excellent at the captains village, sitting in the family's dining room full of heritage and atmosphere. Thanks to Katherine our guide who made the day a great success and I left Estonia promising to come back for longer next time!
Andreas picked us up from our accommodations in Tallinn. We drove NW and visited a beach, coastal cliffs, a waterfall, a lighthouse, an abandoned prison, an abandoned monastery, and viewed a number of manor houses. And finally we visited an old Soviet cargo ship sitting in a field! Andreas provided much historical information and answered our questions, including a request to explain the political environment. Very enjoyable tour.
This tour took us to a lot of places in the National Park. We saw everything that was advertised, which made us very happy. Our tour guide knew very much about the area, but also about Estonia in general. She even shared personal experiences of living in Estonia, which gave us a nice idea about growing up there. We were impressed with her knowledge! And she was able to deliver it in an interesting, humorous way, which was great. Would definitely recommend it!
Everything was great right from the start. I had some problems during the booking process but Janne and Heleene helped me a lot. Our guide, Hindrek, led us to many places and he was always ready to answer our questions. He talked about Estonian history, language, food and many other things. The bogs were my favourite part of the tour. The food was also delicious :)
Great solo tour with Kert to the northeast of Estonia. A fascinating day of history both ancient and recent in a beautiful part of Europe. So much to see and do in a land of contrasts. Expect your preconceptions to be challenged, and enjoy a fun day out. Kert is an exceptional guide - knowledgeable, witty, accommodating and fun.
I like all the visited places which give (in a nushell) a view over Estonia. Andres was very kind and answered all questions about Estonian history and living. I can this tour fully recommend.
If you have time, this is probably the best way to travel to Riga, discovering places you would never visit otherway! Our guide Mike was very enthusiastic about his country and he delighted us with some Latvian songs during the tour. Enjoyable also the lunch stop!
Not only nature, despite of what we expected from the name! During the visits at the manors, our guide gave us a 360° vision of Estonian history, without being boring. Very nice the lunch at the house, with local food and a peaceful moment to spent in front of the sea. Thank you!
This is a fun tour with plenty of time to stroll along the bogwalk. Our guides, Andres and Yann were really knowledgeable and full of fun stories. Highly recommend.
Maybe rename the tour, because our expectation was that it is more focused on the bog and the natuer but this was only a small part of it. Lunch was definetly a highlight. We enjoed every programme point very much.
A day outdoors was the perfect way to end our tip. Our guide was exceptionally well informed and we learned a lot about Estonian history, language & culture as well as the biology of the bog forest. Lunch at the Captain's village was delicious and a wonderful Estonian "at home" experience. Not to be missed!
The Coastal Cliffs tour was probably the most interesting day in my entire Baltics trip! Hindrek was familiar with the whole area and gave us history and information the entire day! He went above and beyond what I imagined. We saw nature (cliffs and waterfalls) and everything history, from WWII to Soviet Union to a monastery to Estonian underground bunkers! Honestly, you haven't really experienced Estonia until you go on this tour and see the history and nature of the countryside. 10/10 Recommend!
This day tour was even better than I expected, our Estonian guide George was really great and made things interesting. The tour bus was nice and comfortable and all of the stops throughout the day were great- I loved getting to try out a traditional Estonian swing, having lunch at a local place by the beach and of course the walk through the bog in the national park was such incredible natural beauty.
Well organised tour with a great tourguide who knew lots of interesting facts about the park and Estonia in general. Also a great car driver. We are very happy to have had this great experience! Thanks a lot.
This was a very interesting day trip as our guide explained a lot about Estonian history and she gave us plenty of details about all the places we were at. Though the day was rainy we had a lot of fun and I enjoyed my time very much.
We spent a great day with our lively and entertaining guide Liine visiting several sites in the Nationalpark (waterfall, bog, seashore and a museum). We learned a lot about estonia and the estonian language. It was a great contrast after spending several days in the city, we definitively recommend it!
By visiting the spots of nature and sowjet relicts with our estonian guide we understand and felt the problems and solutions of this old and young society. Thank you so much
The tour was lovely, and a good chance to explore a different part of the country, than just Tallinn, or the cities. After some uncertainty as to if the tour would go ahead at the time of booking, the small group was a good size. There were 4 of us in the van, so it was easy to hear information, and be able to ask questions. Marju, our guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the country and history. She was warm and engaging, and interested in the stories of the group members as well. Highly recommended.
We chose Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski as we thought our teenage boys would find this the most interesting tour and it would give us all an insight into the history of Estonia. Kristel, our lovely guide, was fantastic! She drove us safely round a wide range of sights and was a mine of information. As expected, our boys found the prison quarry, bunkers, lighthouse, cargo plane and history of Paldiski very interesting. The tour had frequent stops - none of the sections of driving were more than about 20 minutes. Overall, a great day out - and perfect way to avoid the crowds in Tallin on the busiest day for cruise ships in the summer! We arrived back in the town centre late afternoon, just as the tourists were heading off - giving us a lovely quiet evening to explore the old town.
This is the first day trip in my holidays in Tallin and I had such an amazing day! Our guide was nice and explained a lot of funny and interesting stuff. We walked in the woods, we saw many places and have plenty of time to wander and take picture. Lunch in a nice guest house was delicious. Anything perfect! Thank you for that wonderful day
He tour to Lahemaa Nationalpark shows the perfect nature and wonderful places. Our guide, Laura, was very kind and she knew mostly everything about Estonia. My favorite place was Käsmu and the little museum.
If you enjoy awesome landscapes, you will just love it ! (short car ride, nice walks into the park, tasty lunch and lively explanations from our guide)
I did the tour with Kätlin, who is really nice and told us a lot about Laheema and many interesting and fun facts!! She showed us many different places. The smoked salmon we had for lunch was excellent. I recommend :)
Beautiful views, many interesting stories from The Best Guide Ever Katlin ♡ that was one of my lifetime experiences.
Over 9hrs of information, travelling, walking, exploring, lunch and enjoyment. Would recommend the tour.
My partner and I did several Traveller tours. I love a chance to escape outdoors and this was the tour I was most looking forward to! Although you could certainly visit the Lahemaa National Park on your own if you hired a car, the tour has been designed to take you to all the best bits. I am glad we decided not to do it ourselves, as the best part of the tour was our tour guide. Jaan and the guides we had are passionate about history. Rather than rattle off facts you will never remember, they use humour or personal stories to help you understand the history of their country. We just couldn't possibly appreciate the places we were visiting without their knowledge of history and the local area. Riding the Estonian swing, wandering through the bog and eating smoked salmon in a traditional fishing village are memories I will keep forever. Thank you.
It is a day tour that worth to be done. If I can suggest an improving, I would reduce the number of the manors visited and I would spend more time to the visit of the bog, that is a spectacular walk in a very particular environment!
We so enjoyed our tour, our guide Christian was both informative and amusing. He bought Tallinn's past to life - very much recommended.
The trip to the countryside and to the coast really rounded out our visit to Tallinn. Andres was so personable and agreeable. He was willing to discuss anything from the outdoors to government and politics as well as history and current events. This is a great way to get a much better “feel“ for the people and the country of Estonia. As always, I learned much and I erased a little bit more ignorance. I would recommend this tour highly. Also, it was very convenient that we were picked up at our hotel in the morning and dropped off directly at the ferry terminal to travel to Stockholm that afternoon. This was done by scheduling a private tour but, it was very efficient for us.
Guida molto gentile e carina, bell’atmosfera. Vale la pena spendere così una giornata
Really great day tour to some super destinations outside of Tallinn. The rock quarry swimming hole was super photogenic. Great guide, very nice and knowledgeable
Had an amazing tour with Kätlin! The weather was amazing, and the stops were well selected with the trip to Lahemaa Nation Park as an highlight, aswell as being served fantastic salmon by the seaside! Well worth putting a day in Tallinn to the side to do this tour!
The Lahemma tour was surprising for the range of activities—waterfall, manors, seaside, bog hike. Our guide Kristel was lovely and informative. I only wish the “tipping” option was made clearer. While this was a relatively expensive 1 day tour, we weren’t sure how much of that the guides actually take home.
We had a really great afternoon taking this food tour. We got lots (really lots, we couldn't even finish everything) of great, tasty food and got to know a lot about Estonian cuisine and culture. Beside this, it was also a lot of fun. Our guide Nils was really open and friendly and answered all our questions and we had interesting conversations with him and our fellow tourists. It was really like a interesting pub crawl (or better 'restaurant crawl') with a nice local guide. We would definitely recommend the tour to everyone who visits Tallinn!
This is a wonderful way to get out in the countryside if you're based in Tallinn without a car. You get a taste of rural Estonian architecture (grand and more modest), see nature, stroll along the seashore, and walk through quiet pine forests and beautiful wetlands typical of Estonia. The pace was relaxed, but we covered a lot of ground. There was time to take pictures, ask questions, and enjoy the silence. Lunch in a light-filled conservatory at a seafront maritime museum was delicious. Our guide, Hindrek, provided lots of interesting information and perspective on Estonian political and social history, from medieval days to the 21st century.
The guide is very knowledgeable with a full of scary and gory story of what medival people used to do and how they lived. He was funny and kept us entertained with various ghost stories and Tallinn myth.
Une excursion parfaitement organisée en groupe réduit et avec un guide très sympathique et compétent. Les lieux visités sont magnifiques et pittoresques, le repas (non inclus) délicieux et dans un très beau cadre. Bref un circuit incontournable !
This is definitely worth doing, had a fantastic day on the tour! All the places we visited were interesting to see and the walk through the national park was spectacular. Our guide was also extremely knowledgeable in every location and very funny as well, loved all the hisorical Estonian stories and various tales about each place!
After a couple of days wandering around Tallinn, it was a nice change to take a visit to Lahemaa National Park. The couple of stops along the seaside also brought a welcome breeze and a bit cooler temperatures to counter the unusual heatwave. Marju was a terrific guide; very knowledgeable about what we were seeing and we learned a lot about Estonia. She really made it an enjoyable trip and I’m glad I made the decision to do this with Traveller instead of trying to do this as a day trip on my own.
An excellent tour with a great guide who was helpful and friendly. Nice balance of things to see finishing off with a walk through the bog. I would recommend the tour, lovely contrast to Tallinn.
Lahrmaa nataial park was very good Guide was also good But the Fish man's house is not good
I love the tour overall, it's worth your money spent. The atmosphere was soooo relaxing and I had a super nice group & guide. Jaan is informative and funny. Will recommend this to anyone who wants to visit Tallinn.
Our day in Lahemaa Park was super, we learnt lots of things, saw lots of wonderfull things, the walking in the viru bog what like in a dream, and our guide was so nice !
sehr gut geführte tour. sehr entspannte stimmung. die gruppengrösse passte. interessant und spannend auch, was unser guide uns alles erzählen konnte.
The tour was really good even if the weather was not that nice. The place is amazing and we got to learn about how Estonians lived. It would be great if you had some option with overnight stay to take advantage of bycicle sand hiking options!
A very kind guide and a great experience
A good mix of locations outside Tallinn. Illustrated Estonia culture and life in a rural setting. Helpful and informative tour leaders.
The trip was a good day trip and over view out to Lahemaa National Park. The guide was very knowledgeable and interactive. The park is very relaxing and is a good alternative to the busy city.
I absolutely loved this tour, it was not your typical tour. We did some very unique things, the food we had at the museum was amazing. I swimmed in a swamp, it was so much fun. I definitely recommend this tour, it's totally worth the price you pay, the staff was super friendly and helpful.
Had a wonderful day visiting Lahemaa National Park. Andres was a great tour guide, providing lots of lots of interesting facts and stories about Estonian history. I highly recommend this tour.
A fun tour by van around the northern coast of Estonia outside of Tallinn. Easy to book, easy to find, and the day goes by so fast with all the activities. Guides (Jan and Andres) were knowledge and fun, the lunch at the Maritime museum was just amazing. I'd recommend it as a day trip from Tallinn.
My friend and I loved this tour! It was a great day out seeing different parts of Estonian countryside and seaside. We saw a beautiful waterfall, had a lovely home cooked meal for lunch at the museum, stopped by the seaside and ended with the bog. It was all really lovely and interesting to see. Our guide was excellent! We feel awful because we cannot remember his name (sorry) but he had a beard and glasses and had previously lived in Australia and NZ if that helps.. he knew sooo much about anything and everything - so clever and great stories to tell, it was brilliant! He definitely made the tour and we felt like we learnt a lot. I highly recommend this to people visiting Tallinn who have enough time to see other parts of Estonia. And a big thanks to our guide and the company for oragnising it so well!
This tour was a good opportunity to see the countryside in Estonia and hear our very informative guide recount many interesting stories about Estonia. The bog boardwalk offered great vistas of a unique landscape. And the salmon lunch was delicious!
This trips takes tourists to interesting countryside and nature spots which they otherwise won't be able to see and get to know if not travelling by a private car. The nine-hour trip is full of actions, story and fun. The tour guide Jaan (I hope I got your name right) is funny and not boring.
The tour was ok, length was with 90 minutes ok, not too long. The tour guide was a bit nervous, you could tell that a lot from his body language. He was friendly, the stories were nice but often we'd rather had stories being a bit more realistic. The tour would be better in the dark. Maybe shift the times in summer to later hours. There was no hot chocolate at the end :(
It was such a fun day!!! The tour guide, George, was very friendly and informative. We all became very close like a big family. The views, the food, the experiences, everything was really special. I do recommend this tour to my friends including THE lunch. I've visited quite many places in the world, but this was the best tour ever!
The tour and guide was fantastic. Joined the tour because loved to Viru Vog but other things were also good. Lunch at local home / museum was special.
The tour was worth it and the guide was very well informed. She gave a very good overview of Lahema and Estonian History. She was also very helpful in Giving us a local’s View on ‘things to do’ in Tallinn. The village museum and the local meal was very atmospheric. However the Van used for transport was a bit cramped and they could have used a bigger vehicle.
From start to finish the tour was fantastic. All the places we stopped along the way were interesting and fascinating to see. It would not have been possible I think to have visited so much by public transport. We also had a beautiful home cooked meal in a fishing village which added to the experience. Of course one of the main reasons why the tour was so enjoyable was because of the guide. Extremely friendly, very informative and couldn't be more helpful throughout. This was my 3rd separate tour with traveller having previously done the Tallinn to Riga and Vilnius to Riga tours. I couldn't recommend them enough. All 3 of the ladies I have had as guides couldn't have done more to make the experience any more enjoyable. I would be glad to return the favour if any of you find yourselves in Ireland some day
We spent a very beautiful day with our guide Marju, visiting the manors and walking through the bog trails, and the lunch, with the family food prepared at Käsmu by our host, was just great.
Our guide Alfred was so knowledgable and the tour included lots of special places that we would never have found. Lunch at the maritime museum was delicious, one of the best meals we had in Estonia.
Took the tour on June 27th. The travelers on the tour were a bit less enthusiastic in comparison to the crowd of my other tour (Riga-Tallin tour), but were fine. About he guide, actually the guides, because we got 2 guides instead of one. Laura (I think our main guide was Laura) was young, kind, knowledgeable and the other guide (sorry not remembering his name) was more experienced and knowledgeable also. They provided good natural and historical information. I asked to be dropped off before returning to Tallinn and Laura managed to set a route which minimized the spots I would not visit. At the end (at least the end of my tour), Laura kindly offered us a typical cold sweet from Estonia. Highly recommended.
Laura was very knowledgeable and paced the trip very well. She is a fantastic guide. We saw a variety of important aspects of this part of the country. I especially loved the walk through the bogs.
Very nice trip with walking in the bogs, visiting small villages on the seaside (we had lunch and museum visiting in one of them), two manor houses and a waterfall
Whether due to demand or breakdown it was necessary for Tallinn Tours to hire a vehicle. At an early stop we mentioned the smell of fuel fumes within the vehicle. Our guide agreed and promptly organised a vehicle swap at our next stop. Later I misplaced my reading glasses and our guide was prepared to make phone calls and arrangements for collection when found. It seems to me when all is going well people are not really tested but the response of Tallinn Tours when matters were not going according to script was impressive. Great personal skills from our tour guide on all fronts.
We decided to do this tour to escape the city and explore the natural elements of Estonia. Our guide Kert was very knowledgeable and friendly and the tour was laid back and very enjoyable. Lunch was fantastic at one of the private houses that also contained a private maritime museum. The walk through the viru bog was a truly unique travel experience!
Absolutely fantastic tour! Truly exceeded our expectation. Tour guide, Jüri, was very friendly, knowledgeable and had marvellous sense of humour! We got too see fantastic places and learned a lot about not only the locations but also about Estonia overall. We have already recommended this tour to friends!
An absolutely fantastic experience for all of us. We were taken to so many fascinating places, almost all of which were off the beaten track, and learned so much from our guide Liine. She was able to tell us anything about the sites and her explanations of the historical contexts surrounding them (including from the Tsarist, Nazi, and Soviet periods) were always interesting and helpful. Not to mention how kind and fun she was; it was great spending the day with her! Our lunch at an authentic Estonian cafe was another highlight. The access the tour provided to sites that would be hard to visit otherwise was also much appreciated. We could not recommend this tour enough - it contains the perfect mix of natural beauty and fascinating history. Who knew scenic coastal cliffs and decrepit abandoned military installations could combine so well! Thank you Traveller Tours.
An excellent excursion with lots of interesting and diverse locations. Andres was a great guide.
A great day excursion with a number of diverse locations within the National Park, a great way to see the rural side of Estonia away from the city. The bog walk was especially memorable, although insect repellent is a good idea as there are mosquitoes in the warm weather! Kristel was an excellent guide.
If you have a day to spend in Tallinn, I highly recommend this tour for all of you. You can listen to lots of things about Estonian history, culture, and very detailed parts of Estonia. Also you can see magnificent nature of Lahemaa, which you've never seen before in anywhere else. I personally enjoyed this tour so much! Thank you, Laura! You are thr best guide I've ever met:)
Great guide and location
What I most liked was the museum house where we had lunch. A unique place
To start off with, I am a junkie when it comes to fables and legends and myths. This tour provided all of that and more and i would recommend this tour to anyone who is fortunate enough to visit Tallinn. The guide was informative and funny with numerous stories to share.
The tour was wonderful! highly recommend. We started off seeing the waterfall followed by a complex, owned by the complex lord, his setup of servants quarters, over-looker's quarters, his business 'engine' a potato alcohol distillery. got a glimpse of how the place operated from 800 years ago until the present day, then we went off to see a viking museum leading on to a great lunch! They made arrangements for me, being vegan and it was so delicious :) we then walked on 2 different tracks, first by the pine forest which lead us to the shore , and then through the bogs. the guide was really knowledgeable, knowing aspects of history, culture, ecology of the bogs, and she told us a lot more about Estonia ! Go for it if you get the time :)
Interesting day though somewhat dampened by the rain which came along just as we were walking the bog! Our guide Katrin however did her best to assist those less prepared by supplying additional umbrellas and offers of plastic ponchos. The weather improved when we reached the fishing village and the scenery was beautiful. Our lunch stop was enjoyable and a good chance for our group to get to know each other. It was worth a trip out of Tallinn to see another side to Estonia and get a feel for local culture. This was particularly enhanced by our lovely guide whose obvious love of her country and indepth knowledge of both local history and plant life made it especially interesting.
The tour was great and interesting with the different stories about scary, bloody and spooky legends of Tallinn. Although it was his first tour, our guide was really fantastic. My teen daughters really loved him (sorry I forget his name, but I really want to give him highest mark). He had excellent knowledge about Estonian history too. Would Highly recommend.
Lovely day with witty and attentive Jaan as guide ☺ Thank you!
Thank you so much Kätlin for making our day! Your kind, intelligent and relaxed way really impressed us :-)
I loved the trip to Lahemaa Park. Guided in an interesting way we were stopping to see the main attractions but also had big delicious lunch at local's place and oportunity to swing on a traditional Estonian swing! Recommending to everyone!
Saw the Jagala waterfall, excellent views at Lahemaa National Park. This one day tour will shows you the other (more beautiful) side of Tallinn. Will recommend. :)
If you want a day trip out of Tallinn, take this fun and informative tour. We enjoyed Jägala waterfall, learning more about the history of the manors and our favourite. Walking through the bog! Our guide, Laura, was enthusiastic and friendly! We learned much about Estonia and her history. We highly recommend it. Thanks, Laura, for the amazing time!
We took the day trip to Laheema National Park, and it's well worth the money. If you are in Tallinn and have seen all the sites in the old town, I would recommend taking this day trip to see the northern country side, which includes a walk over the bog and a visit to a lovely fishing village on the Baltic Sea. The tour was excellent, our guide Ian (maybe it spells Jann?) spoke perfect English, was very knowledgeable and friendly and was a great guide. There were 6 people in our tour, and they don't take more than 8 people in the van, which is the perfect size.
A fascinating day. A chance to see other parts of Estonia, outside of Tallinn, both the coast and still recent history left by the Russians. Better yet, the chance to spend a day in conversation with a local. We had a great guide who absolutely made the day a treat and provided real insight.
Overall a day very well spent. Wonderful scenery throughout the park. Bog hike and time spent on baltic shore villages were top highlights. The company was also great. Katerine and Andres are both really great guides who are very knowledgeable about nature and Estonian History.
Great tour great guide great peeps yall need to check out these bogs yo.
Our guide, Laura, was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information. we went to some beautiful places that you wouldn't see on a regular tour. It should be noted that the price does not include entrance to the manor house.
Excellent way to spend the day to see the countryside near Tallen.
Our trip outside Tallinn to the countryside of Estonia was time well spent. The tour took us to various sights in the national park but the best part was the walk through the bogs....truly worth the entire trip. Our tour guide was adequate. Answered all our questions but could have been more informative. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing Estonia outside the Tallinn city limits.
This day out in the National Park went very quickly and good to get out of the city, a complete contrast. Our guide was knowledgeable witty & informative. The first part of the walk through the bogs was incredible the safe duck boards allowed one to look around and absorp everything around up until the viewing tower. Then the duckboards became the never ending two planks balancing act. I just had to concentrate at my age 64yrs on my feet and getting to the end. It was both interesting and sad the history of Estonia the manor houses going to ruin. The fishing villages were idyllic and the choice of restaurant for lunch hit the spot. A day trip out I would recommend, take insect repellent I came back with over 20 mosquito bites.
Narva and the Eastern Bloc Private day tour was a very interesting and enjoyable day. Our guide Laura was very knowledgeable and imparted plenty of information for us. She made the tour enjoyable, informative and full of extra information. We enjoyed walking along the edge of the Narva river which is the border with Russia. We would highly recommend doing this tour, to learn about the countryside and towns out of Tallinn. Well done Laura and thank you!
A great tour through the National Park with many magic moments und a well informed and funny guide! I can recommend it to anyone!
The tour was a lot of fun. Great views and interesting stories. Thanks for keeping it entertaining. The lunch was amazing and much better than some regular-type restaurant. I really loved the 6-person swing and wish I got photos of me on it. More reason to go back!
We have been so lucky with the sunny weather but that wasn't all that was great about this tour. Loved the diversity of sites we were visiting - a perfect combination of nature and history! Kert was very knowledgeable and gave us an honest and personal inside into Estonian history and daily life. Thanks again for this great experience, Kert!
Lovely day trip to get out of the city and see more of Estonia. Great guide who was super friendly and very informative.
Lahemaa National Park is very beautiful, we had stunning weather and could enjoy everything. The guide was very friendly and helpful and told us many things about Lahemaa, Tallinn, Estonia and the whole region. Definitely a must do in Estonia.
We were a group of eight and we had a nice day. We weren't to many people and the van was big enough for all of us. Our guide seemed qualified and was really nice. He answered every question we had and shared a lot of information. The view at the prison was breathtaking and totally worth the trip. It was a nice combination for us - cliffs, old sovjet place, a waterfall and an old plane.
had a amazing day, paddled in a bog, and had a go on an estonian swing!
Really good, well-paced day with travellers of all ages and from many nations. Excellent guide who made sure everyone was included and kept the information coming in an engaging way. Loved it!
Excellent tour! The day was packed with things to see. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave lots of background information. Highly recommended!
Never even knew what a bog was before this tour. Great idea, definitely worth.
I am really glad I got to do the national park tour. Tallinn's old town seems to be getting the global attention for being one of the most underrated travel destinations, but I would say I was even more blown away by the nature (beautiful bogs) and the small fishing village of Estonia. My guide Kert was very knowledgeable, friendly and very funny! I felt that I could get a better perspective of life in Estonia/ Tallinn. I would recommend this tour to anyone about to visit Tallinn. This tour was the highlight of my trip! It really made me want to come back to explore the country/culture more. Thanks again Kert!
Thank you so much for an amazing journey into the past Soviet history of the country. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Andres is a great storyteller and shared Estonian history in a way that was highly memorable! Fortunately, the weather was great and I would highly recommend this tour. :)
We had an amazing time! Liine did a great job, and proved herself to be extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. We recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing the countryside and learning about the history of Estonia. Don't be afraid to ask the guide anything you would like to learn more about!
Excellent day trip outside of Tallinn. Definitely recommend it. Excellent guide (Kert) and we really enjoyed it. A little bit expensive though considering the tour operator didn’t have additional expenses other than the guide and transport
It was a fabulous experience, made memorable by our guide Kert
We had a small group on public tour - packed out day, lots to see and minimal driving between the sites. Plenty of local (and some times personal) history added by our guide that really added colour, would definitely recommend.
We have experienced the day in Lahemaa National Park and really loved it. First of all, the nature is just gorgeous, even in early March. We also liked the content of excursion, had enough time for taking pictures and just enjoy the scenery. The whole atmosphere was very relaxing. Loved our guide as well. Andres, greetings from Russia :)
Great day from start to finish. Our your guide Kert was brilliant. Loads of information given about each place visited. This is an alternative insight into Estonia. Some really unexplored places to visit. Quarry visit was fantastic! Going home to Scotland with great memories.
Our guide was great, his explanation was interesting. If you arrived prepared about what you would like to see, they really try to take you there. I suggest it 😊
A really beautiful trip though forests and coastlines in the snow. I have never felt so safe being driven in snowy conditions. Our guide was excellent, very open to all our weird questions and informative. We were thrilled to see a sea eagle on the journey as well! Many thanks for a great day out.
Estonia is a small country. The "Lahemaa National Park day tour" is a very good experience if you cannot make a few days tour. It introduces you some typical things. The small track was cool, the froze waterfall was amazing and the lunch in the museum was also unforgetable. But above the all Kert (our cute guide) was perfect. His short stories and explanations were full of charm.
Our guide Lina (sp?) Took us to 6 different places. We had a wide variety of Estonia food. From pastries and desserts to appetizers to main meals it was all wonderful. But what made the tour even better was Lena's vast knowledge of Estonian history and cultural history. She was informative witty and a delight. In the end we waddled out of the last restaurant unable to have one more mouthful. So the amount of food is more than adequate. The Highlight for me was the Sprat with quail eggs. For my wife it was the dumplings. Most of the food that we ate was comfort food that estonian's ate throughout history which is exactly what we wanted but it might be fun to have a higher end option. Overall if you want good food with great value this is the tour for you.
First of all the communication with Traveller Tours has been very good. They trips were not sure yet, but they informed me well about the situation. Finaly i booked a trip to Lahemaa N.P. with 5 other guys and Liine as our Tour Guide. It was a great day in a wonderful winter landscape. Everything was fine. Liine has been very flexible. While driving she told us a lot of facts about her country. She drove very sure on snowy streets. All in all it was a great day, which i can definetly recommend. Thanks to Liine.
Had a wonderful evening with Liine who really bought the town to life. Such a brilliant tour with best hot chocolate at the end. Highly recommend!!
Well worth the trip to see places you just couldn't do on your own in a day. Meal in captains museum was wonderful. Great guide!
Wind and cold winter weather did not bother at all as we listened fascinating stories of Katleen (hope I got the name correct) at our private walking tour in the old town of Tallin. Great combination of ghosts, legends, history and life of today - just as we wished. And in the end of the tour nice cup of warm tea with beautiful view of the city, thank you!
Probably one of the best tour we made. The guide was really interesting and the place we visited absolutely fantastic. Thank you!!
Siim was eloquent, humorous and captivating....wealth of a time. I had a whale of time.Kudos to him !
Maria was a fabulous guide to take us to Paldiski. She was highly knowledgeable and was very talkative! She made a special call to visit an old prison (going out of her way). Couldn’t ask for a better person to help us explore the Soviet history of the area :)
As most of the attractions in Tallinn are closed on monday, your best bet is to book the Lahemaa national park day tour with Traveller. It was an amazing experience with nature walk and stopovers at several coastal spots which offer interesting stories about Estonian history. Marju was very friendly and a great guide.
Heli is a hell of a tour guide. absolutly enthusiastic in describing her beloved city and estonians. She is equally funny and knowledged! I recomment this tour to everyone who thinks about viditing tallinn.
The tour was great, informative, interesting, and a perfect way to hear about all the spooky, gruesome and fascinating legends of Tallinn and it’s turbulent history. Our guide was fantastic, really fun and made for a very entertaining night, with excellent ‘home-grown’ knowledge of the area. Would Highly recommend.
I initially tried to book another tour and switched to this one after hearing that this would be the only one available at that day. Tours are cancelled, if you are the only potential customer, which is understandable. Our guide Marju was very friendly and did everything she could to make this tour a success. She was flexible and asked for everyones primary interests and tried to find a good combination to make us all happy. With our small group of only three she had enough time to answer everyones questions in detail and took good care of us. I only rated this with four stars instead of five because I didn't get to see the things that I was most interested in (from the tour I wanted to book initially).
It was really cool getting away from Tallinn and seeing another part of Estonia. Paldiski is probably the closest thing I'll ever see to Russia. This is another good tour offered by this company.
Very informative and saw some great sites. The national park was so serene and still had plenty to show even in the winter. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave so many insights into Estonian life, she also gave tips for things to do the days after the tour.
9 hour tour of Lahemaa NP. It was December so only 5 hours of daylight to see main highlights, Jagala Waterfall and Viru Bog. The bog was beautiful in the snow and ice. We were expecting tour to be cut short but it carried on for the unique experience of seeing Kasmu coast by twilight and then Sagadi Manor in the pitch black. A great day out with a fun and informative guide.
This was a perfect walk through the night and our guide Liine was so ambitious. She told us stories about Tallinn we had never heard before. I can say this was such a good idea to book this tour.
Book this tour! You will not regret a second of it. We even did the tour in freezing cold weather and enjoyed it immensely! You learn so much about the history of Tallinn, and who doesn’t enjoy a good ghost story. Worth every penny and then some!
Tour guide was amazing. The national park is truly beautiful. We went for a super lunch also.
It was exciting for us to get out of the city and see a different aspect of Estonia than just the old town of Tallinn. While I love the old town, it was great to have the opportunity to explore an abandoned monastary, underwater prison and Soviet town of Paldiski. Our guide Marju was full of interesting information and tips and more than willing to answer any questions we had. We stopped at a lot of different attractions but didn't feel rushed at all- it was the right combination of activities and drive time. I definitely reccommend this trip for anyone who wants to get out and see a different side of Estonia!
I pass a good day with my husband and 3 other Nice person. The guide is very nice person too and she speak a little french, she pass time with all guests and is pleasant. I recommand this trip.
Awesome tour where you visit to places not well known by tourists... on 02 Dec, we get to visit the awesome coastal cliffs, the beautiful park with waterfall, the old monastery fort and an abandoned prison quarry... totally awesome! Our guide Mariilou (not sure the spelling) is very helpful and knowledgeable with the locations we visited and it was a nice tour.
After a similar tour in Edinburgh we had high hopes for this one in Tallinn. The free walking tour was also a hard act to follow but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We did not find the content very stimulating and its delivery was lacking. We were expecting a 2 hour tour so thought the 1 hour 10 minute one we actually had for 15 euros each was expensive. Sorry, but wouldn't recommend.
This was one of the top highlights of my trip to Tallinn. Although it was cold and dark, it really added to the ghost tour. It's such a great way to learn more about the history of the place. Liine was our guide and she was so great - entertaining, easy to understand, really engaging and passionate. Thank you!
Grazie alla nostra guida abbiamo scoperto splendidi luoghi in cui altrimenti non saremmo mai stati. Ne vale la pena.
We booked pretty last minute to go on the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski Tour and Traveller Tours sorted it all out for us really quickly and the tour couldn't have been better! We were picked up in the morning by Kert who was awesome! He knew all the answers to our barrage of questions and did it all with a smile on his face and many laughs along the way. The trip certainly packed in lots of interesting things to see over the course of the day including soviet bunkers and buildings, a monastery, waterfalls and probably our favourites .... Rummu prison and quarry as well as the soviet cargo plane. This trip was one of the highlights of our time Estonia and well worth checking out.
I took the Haapsalu and West Coast Tour a few days ago and have only words of gratitude toward this company and especially to Marju who was very friendly and professional. She took the time to show and explain us about anything from history to biology. She patiently answered all of our questions and took us to this great caffé in Haapsalu, so we could try the simple but tasteful Estonian country cusine. Totally recommendable if your interested in history, politics, architecture and bird-watching or simply walking along the seaside. Tänan, Marju!
I don't recall how my daughter found Traveller Tours when we were planning a trip to Estonia; but I'm glad she did. By us, small-group tours with local guides win hands-down over both large, cookie-cutter "highlight" tours done in lockstep with others, and the DIY approach with its inevitable false starts, lost time, and missed possibilities. We did two TT tours while in Estonia: one to Viljandi and the university town of Tartu, the other to the resort area around Haapsalu. Our respective guides, Kert and Marju, were graduate students fluent in English with an excellent grasp of both Estonian and European history and a good handle on the particulars of each site we visited. On the Viljandi/Tartu trip, we three had Kert to ourselves. So it effectively was a private tour at a group-tour price. On the Haapsalu trip, we had a congenial group of eight plus Marju. In both cases, we had plenty of time to talk and ask questions along the way; and we learned a great deal. Should we have a second opportunity to visit Estonia, we would happily go on more Traveller Tours. Thanks, Kert and Marju and colleagues, for doing such a great job!
Our guide was Kaitlin (sorry if I dont spell it correctly) and she was very friendly and knew a lot about the places we visited and the history of Estonia. 7 hours actually went fast and I think it was good that the tour had a mixture of beautiful nature and other more historic places. One big plus was when me and my family looked in an old photoalbum at the taverna in Paldiski, and we found our grandmothers old home at a picture :)
Kert Oun was the guide for an extremely enjoyable and educational outing from Tallinn to Narva and many sites with buildings from the Soviet era. A history buff, he went in depth on each site and the history of Estonia and it's people. He was also highly respectful of the local people during our visits to various towns. Don't miss this tour if you can manage it, especially if Kert is the guide.
This was a 7 hour trip with plenty of stops. Good to see different parts of Estonia. The waterfall was beautiful. The roads were so quiet. The Russian aspect is such recent history. We also had lunch in an old Tavern in Russian Paldiski - dumplings! Our tour guide Kert made the trip very enjoyable and we got to know quite a bit about Estonian life. Well worth the money, a good day out.
I attended Narva tour and it was a great experience for me! We visited places I would not be able to discover on my own, a spooky abandoned village and a huge former cotton factory, historical soviet buildings, castle on the very boarder with Russia and other cool places where the time has stopped and we could "taste" the forgotten fame from the past. Kert was a very nice guide with knowledge of the history and explained to us all the interesting background of the places. He was very friendly and together with other tourists, the tour turned to an exciting trip of friends.
Travelling with Kert and Isabel has been a great pleasure. The day-tour has been filled with information about this out-of-the-way part of Estonia - historical as well as modern times have been covered by the profund knowledge of Kert. Both guides were great company (as were the other guest) and I had lots of fun. And thanks for the safe driving. Thanks again and all the best to you
I just came back the day tour trip to Lahemaa Park. The weather was not 100% nice but the tour itself was really awesome! Estonian Lunch in Kasmu was so delicious and the viru bog was so exotic and amazing! Also our guide "Marju" was so kind and nice with bright smile :) I highly recommend this tour to ones who wish to visit the Lahemaa Park but hesitating due to absence of public transportation. The park itself and waterfall was great worth visiting
I took the tour to Narva last year with Kert as a tour guide. What I enjoyed the most was that there was never a rush, unlike most other tours I have been to. Kert had answers to all my questions. We all got along really well and it felt like I was travelling with a group of friends. Narva tour would be a perfect fit for someone who is interested in soviet era and exploring abandoned places. Everything was excellent!
We took this tour with our small team and it was really cool! You get to see very different places, from a small bakery to hipster places and everything in between. Liine is a wonderful guide and has a baker's diploma herself, so she loves food and cooking.
We had a private tour with Kert last week from Tallinn to Narva. We enjoyed the full day with excellent guiding to historic places. Ingrid and Claes
It was the most exciting national park that I ever visited!
We booked this full-day tour online in advance in order to see something different and spend a day with a local, away from the Capital. We were too sure what to expect, but found the experience well worth our time and the expense. We inquired about changing the date of the booking by a day due to more favorable weather and also asked about changing our final payment from cash to credit card and they effortlessly agreed. Our guide, Kert, was very timely, courteous and accommodating to our requests throughout the day. He provided good and interesting commentary and answered our many questions with plenty of details. Complements to Kert and Tallinn Traveller Tours for a job well done.
We took the day tour to the western cliffs and Paldiski and it was phenomenal. Our tour guide, Martin, seems to know everything about Estonian history (literally) and answered all of our questions beautifully. (Coincidentally, Martin was also our guide on the Tallinn Old Town free walking tour, where he also displayed incredible depth of knowledge.) The sights on the tour itself were spectacular. This tour was actually our second choice, but we were not disappointed. The views from the western cliffs were breathtaking. The tour also included stops to a number of relics from the Soviet era, including an old forced labor camp, and to see a Soviet fighter plane. I would highly recomend this tour-the perfect combination of nature and history to some places off the beaten path.
We visit Tallinn every year in February and booked a private tour to Haapsalu (our flights were on dates of regular tour) and it really was an excellent day out, well worth the extra cost. Kert, our guide, was great - we chatted about all sorts of aspects of Estonian life, and he was so knowledgable about the interesting places we visited - and got as excited as we did when we drove across the ice-road on the Baltic!! Communication before our trip was excellent and we were so pleased we did it. Definitely will be booking another tour to another part of this beautiful and fascinating country when we come back next year. Thank you so much for a great day out.
We went with Liine (probably misspelled) who is a young, friendly and super nice guide. Despite the temperature of -15°C the day was amazing! Seeing frozen waterfalls and bog in the magic of the winter is wonderful. We had lunch with a local family in a beautiful seaside old wooden house. Recommended.
Yevgeny gave us a great half day tour of the Lahemaa National Park. He shared tons of knowledge and facts about the area, history, and life in Estonia. We really appreciated being able to set this tour up at the last minute and they were so willing to accommodate and meet our needs. Truly a great morning and great personal service. Thank you!
We went on the Lahemaa National Park tour with Jevgeni, and would highly recommend it. Jevgeni was friendly, informative and funny throughout the tour (so much so that someone else not on our tour wanted to film him telling a joke he'd just told us because we were laughing so much!). We really enjoyed the tour; it was the best day of our holiday. Thank you Jevgeni!
A massive thank you to JJ. I learnt and saw a lot in one day. His local knowledge and anecdotes made it a memorable day. If you want to see the side of Estonia not usually seen by tourists, then this is the tour for you. Also thank you to Marii, for suggesting the tour for me. To sum up; great value, great lunch, great guide and most of all a tour that does exactly what it says. See you next time.
I had a superb tour to a lot of places at Lahemaa National Park with Kert. This tour caused definitely the wish to return to Estonia for more places at the countryside. Kert is an expert at the region because he grew up locally. He is also a historian who knows interesting facts about visited places (as Kert has also studied in Cologne, Germany where I live, I also got a view of Cologne carnival from an Estonian)
We did two tours - first one to Lahemaa National Park. Firstly I must say that our tour guide - Jaan (aka. John) was amazing - really smart and friendly guy who knew a lot about the history of Estonia and all the places that we visited with him. He was so genuine and it was so pleasant to listen or talk to him because he really was interested in sharing the information with us. Also, he was super-funny! :) The tour itself was very informative and fun. All the places that we visited were really interesting and cool, especially the submarine base and the bog. :) Would definitely recommend it to everybody! The second tour was to western coast and town called Haapsalu. This time we had an awesome tour guide again - Kert. He was also very knowledgeable and happy to share it with us. Unfortunately it was quite rainy that day, so it was not the best time to visit the coast and seaside, but we did enjoy it quite a bit. Just driving around on the tiny forest roads in the middle of nowhere was already pretty cool. Luckily the rain stopped in Haapsalu, so we got to see the town and promenade. Kert also took us for lunch in a very authentic and rustic estonian restaurant which was great! All in all - both of the trips were really cool, thank you! :)
The tour was organised wellvright from the start, easy pick up point and we left on time.Anneli organised the bookings and ourvguide KKatie was fantastic! Throughout the day she toldcus about relevant Estonian culture, history and geography. The tourcwax a good mix of walking and driving. We had several stops during the day. It wasvery relaxing walking along the promenade in Haapsalu and visiting the fortifications and old train station. We stopped for lunch at a quaint cafe and also had time forcsome shopping. On the way back to Tallinn we stopped at an abandoned Soviet airfield, a quirt place on the coast and a little village. Katie made the experiences very special. I lesrnt so much that day . Thanks
While in Tallinn, we took the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski tour, we had a wonderful day with Olga, our guide who could not have been more helpful. Her knowledge of the area was amazing and made the place come to life. We had a great lunch at a local restaurant! Olga was great, we need her right now in St Petersburg. Take the trip you will enjoy it!
We took the Lahemaa National Park day tour. It was a very full and varied day, with a range of interesting and entertaining experiences. The mixture of nature and history was very good. Kert, our excellent guide, put everyone at ease and had a gift for explaining Estonian history. His knowledge of nature and Estonia was also very broad. His driving was also perfect.
I did a Lahemaa National Park day tour with Kert as my guide. He was absolutely fantastic. Not only was he knowledgeable with the history of Estonia, he is a fun guide as well. I have experienced playing on the traditional Estonian swing and had so much fun with it. Thank you so much Kert for giving me such an unforgettable experience in Tallinn.
It was an amazing day in the Lahemaa National Park with Kert. He is a professional guide with a lot of knowledge of Estonian history. He tells with passion and humor and brings a lot of personal experience with it. The national park is really amazing and wonderful place and if you go to Tallinn, this tour should be in your program.
The Lahemaa Tour was amazing! We were a small group so we got to know each other quickly! We got to see various different sights in the national park and enjoyed a delicious homemade Estonian lunch! Our tour guide was really nice and she gave us a lot of information about the area and Estonian culture!
Also went on the Coastal Cliffs tour with Teele, and I'm in complete agreement with earlier reviews. She is delightful, and the tour is a wonderful way to spend a day here.
Triin gave us a fascinating trip round Lahemaa. We learned more about Baltic history than we could have hoped for, and experienced a great variety of places and stories. Thank you very much.
I just got back from an awesome day. Making the cliffs tour. Very various places to see and much fun. Maarja made that Day perfect, From her really enthusiastic attitude to the fact that we did the all trip and more even if Take more times! This tour really deserved its reputation.
Amazing tour. Amazing guide. Totally worth it.
We had a really great time on the tour! The nature of Estonia is stunning and really worth a visit!! Our guide, Triin had a lot of interesting stories to tell about the history of Estonia and we learnt a lot. I would definitely do this tour again!
The Tour was amazing! A must-see!! So different to get out of the city and into Estonia's beautiful nature! We heard a lot of great stories and learned a lot about Estonia's history. Our tour guide Triine (I'm probably spelling it wrongly) was lovely. We had a lot of fun with her
Excellent tour, would definitely recommend it! We learned a lot, our guide Martin is very knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you!
Triin with 2 ii's! thank you so much for such a great tour to Lahemaa park. We learned a lot about history of Estonia and saw so many picturesque places within the park. We could see how passionate and energetic you are about your country and your job. Thanks for sharing with us.
We have just had the "Ghost Tour" of the city of Tallinn together with the guide Helen. We enjoyed it very much, Helen managed to tell us a lot of the city and its history in a very fascinating way. We discovered hidden spots, heard scary stories - will never want to walk around the old town in the middle of the night! - we learnt so much about Tallinn, Estonians and their culture. It was indeed a great tour and Helen was super kind and professional!
Lahemaa National Park tour, very relaxing, refreshing and beautiful tour. I joined the tour on 1 June 2016. We visited waterfalls, bogs, forest, seaside and the gorgeous fishing village, Käsmu Captain's Village and her little museum. Every time when I was thinking about the salmon lunch we had, my mouth watered. Thanks to our guide, Maria, I still remember the canned Estonian air :D
We made the Lahemaa National Park tour today. Our guide was Kert. Not only did he amaze us with his thorough knowledge of Estonian history that he happily shared with us, he also managed to return 100% of the participants for the first time in his career - what a keeper! ;) The whole tour felt like an exciting road trip with friends from different nationalities and at different ages. Thank you very much!
Wasn't sure what to expect from the Lahemaa National Park tour but it definitely exceeded all expectations. We had Geron for the tour and he was very knowledgeable but I especially enjoyed his dry wit and unusual sense of humour - definitely made a difference to the tour. Loved the Käsmu Village and the Viru Bog the best!
Teele was our guide for the Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski last Tuesday (5 July 2016) & I must say it was one of the most relaxing tours I've been on. Not only she's a safe driver but also offered tons of interesting information and always made sure we were ok and comfortable. As another reviewer said, the highlight of this tour was the Rummu prison and the quarry and also we got to sit inside an abandoned Soviet cargo plane!
Kert was a great guide. Made us feel very comfortable. He was charming, funny, and informative. We had a great time and can recommend him highly. Best of luck, Kert, we'll send friends! We just loved Estonia!
Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski, I did the tour on Sunday the 29th of May, our guide was 'Relika' (phonetically spelled). She was very knowledgeable, and could answer all my questions about the Paldiski area and Estonian history in general. Lovely and polite person too. Highlight for me was Murru prison quarry, very surreal landscape. Thanks!
Just came back from the Tour with Maarja to Paldiski. Has been very interesting and we really enjoyed the 7 hours with this Wonderful Guide - thank you Maarja!! As we have to fly back tomorrow to Austria this was the Perfect last day and I can only recommend it!
I really enjoyed the Lahemaa National Park tour and I would recommend it to anyone who would like to see part of the beautiful nature and important history of this country. I would like to thank our guide, Geron, who made this tour even better!
The Laheema National Park tour was amazing! Highlights included going behind Estonia's tallest waterfall, and swimming in a bog lake. Our guide, Jon, was fantastic! He was knowledgable, funny, and thoughtful. If you like getting some physical activity while learning, you should definitely take this tour.
Dear Tripadvisor I chose the Lahemma day tour with the company that was recommended from Tallinn What a company -Just outstanding service We had Chris our guide I cannot find enough superlatives to write about him as a person and with so much knowledge and the way he did it Just wonderful He is a treasure to the company Thanks to tripadvisor we enjoy traveling Sincerely Henya Glazer Amex Travel Services Israel
This was our highlight in our 3 days stay in Estonia. Trinn, our tour guide, was very cheerful and enthusiastic in sharing! The places we visited was beaaauutiful and awesome! Don't think we would have loved this place as much if it was another tour guide.
Thank you Liine for a fantastic and thrilling ghost tour, our students loved it!!!
My friend and I decided for the Coastal Cliffs + Paldiski tour. We were only 4 people on the tour and it seems like that we are a family. Our tour guide Triin was amazing her knowledge brilliant and her sense of humour was unbeatable. We learned a lot about the history of Estonia. She knew all the answers to all the questions and we would like to travel with her again on our next trip to Tallinn. Thanks a lot Triin and we highly recommend you and your travel agency.
Usually I am not a friend of guided Tours. But in this case, we decided to make one, because we were short on time. So we booked Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski. Because there were no other interested people we get a private Tour. And this Tour was so fantastic that we made the Lahemaa and Haapsalu Tour too. I recommend you, to spend at least one Day of your Holidays outside the town and make one of these trips. If you have only one Day make the Lahemaa Tour. The girls we had as guides are altogether brilliant, so it makes no difference which one guides you. Thank´s you showed us your wonderful homeland.
Me and my friend, we did the Laheema National Park tour two weeks ago and we really enjoyed it. Many thanks to our great tourguide Kätlin, who was really friendly and enthusiastic! She told us lots of interesting stories.
We enjoyed a tour to Coastal Cliffs & Paldiski with Liine. It was grasping, we had a nice company with our tourmates, and our guide was very lively and smart. It seems that Liine knows everything about history and Estonia! We recommend this tour for anyone who wants to spend an interesting day in the outdoors!
This is something everyone visiting Estonia should do! Our guide Kätlin was amazing, she was so nice and told us really interesting stories and facts during the trip. There were two other girls on the trip at the same time and it felt just if we were friends spending perfect Sunday together :) Thank you once again Kätlin! It was a perfect day!
The best tour you can do in Tallin!i suggest the park of Laheema.Jevgeni is a very kind and professional guide, the tour is great!
Travelling to Estonia in November sounds like a bad idea, but we had such a great time! Of course it was... ehm.. a bit chilly, but our Guide Olga did a great job. We had Lahemaa practically to ourselves and it had the charming colours of a Tundra. Be aware, it's getting dark early, but the floodlighted manor looked impressive nonetheless.
We had a fantastic day... "No sex, no future, but excellent guides and a beautiful country". Thank you Martin for all the stories and funny details. By the way, we just discovered that kiiking already came on Belgian television.... The olympic dream is coming closer :-) Gert, Katrien and Joris
Martin was our guide for the Lahemaa National Park. The park was really great, but we also went to many other places including restored and derelict manor homes, soviet relics etc. Martin was an excellent guide, provided a lot of knowledge and kept us well entertained with his easy going nature.
I never thought I would enjoy this city alone but I was wrong. Lahemaa tour was awesome and the guide was really awesome. Like, I think it's safe to say, this was one of the best trips I have ever been at. I am really looking forward to come back here again to see more of what Tallinn traveller tour are offering.. You guys are the best, No Doubt :)
For the money, this was one of the best day tours I've been on. Our guide Eliise was full of information and made each stop interesting, as well as being an all round ace person. The itinerary was satisfyingly packed and there was a good variety of places and things to do. Lunch was divine - I need that salmon in my life! Despite it being a nine hour trip, I never once felt bored. All in all, a brilliant day out and highly recommended for those visiting Estonia.
The Tallinn Ghost Tour is one of the most marvellous things to do in Tallinn! Our tour guide Liine was a fantastic storyteller and did a great job! It was great fun and very interesting to meet all the real ghosts of Tallinn old town (special regards to the ghost in the Swedish embassy :) )
We had a wonderful tour to Lahemaa national park. our guide Katlin was perfect , profesional and so good. she knew all the answers to all the questions and we would like to travel with her again on our next trip to Tallinn
The Lahemaa National Park tour was a lot of fun. Our tour guide, Olga, was absolutely wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot about Estonia from her and the tour.
I took part to 2 guided tours, and both were great experiences! The Lahemaa tour with George, which I would recommend both for the amazing views and experiences throughout the natural reserve and for being organized in such a personal, smooth way. Thank you guys for the good time :-)
Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski - tänan Kätlin
We did the Lahemaa national Park tour with Kris - fantastic.
Martin gives us a fantastic day on 20 August in this free country. Thank you!
Martin was an excellent tour guide. He speaks fluent english. He told us everything we wanted to know, no matter if it was about Estonian politics, the weather, the countryside, sports, becoming independent from the soviet Union and so on. All this informations came along the trip in addition to the Information we expected, when we booked the trip. The last advice we took was the dinner in the "Kukeke" bar in Tallinn. We really enjoyed the day with Martin and the others. The tour is excellent. We can really recommend it to others. Take the chance when it gets offered.
Although there has been a booking problem with my Lahemaa tour they gave me the possibility to enjoy a fantastic costal tour with Martin instead. Many thanks to the team! It has been a great experience in Estonia which I'll never forget. If somebody reading this review has the time to go on the tour I would highly recommend it!
Although not fond of guided tours we did the Laheema National Park Tour because we noticed that hiring a car and following a printed guide was a rather inefficient way to see places of interest. Our guide was Martin and his enthusiasm and background of history studies resulted not only in seeing fabulous places but also in an elaborate commentary on Estonian habits and culture interwoven with anecdotes from the Soviet era. We are so glad we joined this tour!
The Costal Coat and Paldisky Tour we made last saturday was the most amazing and awesome of our estonian's stay. The guide, Kris, was perfect: So available, funny and always here to give many details and special jokes. We enjoyed it ALL the time
Today we participated in the trip to the Costal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski. It was an amazing trip, and Kris was a fantastic tour guide. With his passion and expertise, he made this trip an unforgattable experience. I found this tour highly entertaining and educational, therefore I enjoyed my time during this guided tour. Thanks a lot for that spectacular day!
Warm-hearted Estonians, Martin & Ulane! Yesterday I & my husband joined a Lahema guide tour, which was really wonderful & impressive as a nature lover. Before starting, I sprained my ankle on the way to the Info office in the morning but I just proceeded the journey because I was really looking forward to it. However, the pain was getting stronger as time goes by until I could not walk any more. Our guide Martin was very considerate enough to take care of me & ask how I was at every stop. I liked his extensive knowledge about Estonian history as well as anything we bumped into. One thing that I regretted was my poor understanding of English. I wanna call him professor Martin. After I got back from Lahema, his boss Ulane & her sister spared their time to take me to the ER in the city. They sacrificed their resting hours for me. As a foreigner, I would have been miserable without their help! I wanna come back here again some day & meet them again! Fortunately I got much better today and in a few days I think I can continue my schedule and return home happily. Martin & Ulane will be remembered as antoher kind people of Estonia, which became one of my favorite countries. Pls give me your email addresses to kko4727@gmail.com. Many blessings to all of you!
We went on a tour to Lahemaa National Park with Geron as our guide. We loved the tour and found Geron to be very knowledgeable, friendly and easy-going. I would highly recommend taking this tour - we learned about the nature and history of Estonia and were never bored. The following day we took the walking tour around Old Town with Mairi. She was also very knowledgeable and friendly and the tour was very informative. Well worth it, especially considering its free and only need to tip - which we certainly think she deserved.
We booked the trip in de tourist office Our guide was a very sociable man called Martin who was very informative throughout the whole tour.We were taken to lots of places and had a pleasnt lunch on route. The salmon was great. 19july 2015!! Visited July 2015
Today I took a tour with Katryn (Kate) to Lahemaa and I enjoyed everything we did. Katryn was very knowledgeable, being a history student. She answered all our questions and gave us a real insight on the people and culture of Estonia. I would have had to rent a car to get to all these places and even then, I wouldn't know as much information as Katryn did! We were able to do a good deal of walking, not just sitting in the SUV. The lunch was delicious and filling.I liked the manor that was being restored, the Soviet submarine base and the bogs the best. Thanks, Katryn, for a wonderful day!! You were awesome!
Olga was a great guide and took us to some fantastic places which we would never have found ourselves.
it was amazing day with our great guide olga at coastal clifs and another nice day with Kris in lahema national park thanks for 2 beautiful days in estonia
We had Wednesday a very interesting daytrip to Lahemaa National Park. Nature, culture and history all together with the nice guide Geron.
We had a fantastic day on this tour! We were amazed to find just the two of us on this tour with our guide George and his friend and fellow tour guide Martin who was learning the tour. On a warm sunny July day we visited an ancient monestry, an old prison, picked and ate wild blueberries in the forest, visited a rocky beach and watched yachts sail by, had a leisurely lunch in lovely Haapsalu (could have stayed there all afternoon:-)) and then en route back to Tallinn visited a deserted airbase and 3 old German manor houses in various states of ruin. George spoke perfect English, was extremely knowledgeable, patient answering our many questions, has a great sense of humour and is really easy company to be with. I can highly recommend doing the western coast tour, it is well worth the time to see a more of Estonia.
Henri made the tour interesting and fun. It was also a good way to see various parts of the Old Town along with the ghost stories that happened in it. Very nice.
The tour was very informative. It was interesting and fun. Our guide, Henri, was friendly and is always able to answer all our questions regarding the tour. He speaks English (and also Japanese) fluently so we could easily understand when he was conducting the tour. Very highly recommended.
We booked the Lahemaa National Park tour in Tallinn, it was amazing. Our guide Martin was also very cool. He was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend this trip.
We went on the Lahemaa tour last week and it was an excellent experience. Our guide Kris was very knowledgeable, as well as having an excellent sense of humor. He took great care of us all day and gave us a wonderful introduction to the natural and historical side of Estonia. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the country!
A trip to Estonia is incomplete without visiting Lahemaa National Park, and the best way to see it is with Traveller Tours. We had a fantastic day with our guide John, who couldn't have been more enthusiastic or informative. We were able to see all the highlights of the National Park & sample the world's greatest salmon! Thank you so much.
My wife and I had the pleasure and luck to do our tour of Lahemaa National Park with the full of energy and fun George and his at the time trainee Eliise. This was a few weeks ago and I'm sure by now, she's doing a great job of leading tours on her own. We had a beautiful day and the pair made the most of it by taking us (only three in the group that day) to the pretty coast of Estonia with a couple old mansions and a bog walk thrown in for good measure. The lunch stop was great too and well worth the €10 extra charged for the setting alone but also for one of the best salmon meals of many in the region. In the end though, the sights would have been great but non-essential without the humorous running commentary from our two young guides who shared interesting tidbits of info and kept us laughing from place to place. It's obvious how much they love their country, the park and especially their "jobs" and you can't help but be sucked into that feeling yourself. We thought about renting a car to do the excursion and very glad we didn't.
We had such an awesome day at the nationalpark lahemaa with martin! :-)
It was pouring rain in the morning so I was kinda questioning my decision to take a trip to Haapsalu that day. But fortunately, we ended up having great weather and chased the sun! As we weren't able to see everything from our planned tour due to a drag race happening at the air base, our guide Geron took us to some cool places that you normally see on a different tour. You could say that we got the best of both! I'd recommend doing any of these tours if you want to see more of Estonia than just Tallinn. And if you get Geron as your guide: lucky you, enjoy his great sense of humor!
Great tour of the sights in the park with John. Very knowledgeable and entertaining, learnt a lot about the park and Estonians generally. Thanks I'd recommend the tour to anyone.
We stayed in Tallinn for 4 days and enjoyed both the free city tours with Heli and the day-trip to Lahemaa National Park with John. An Estonian would say it was "pretty OK", which means in English "Wonderful". We still have the excellent taste of smoked salmon in the mouth ;-). Thanks for allowing us to have learned more about your country!
Thank you for a lovely tour of Lahemma Park Our guide, Martin, has got great knowledge of history, and fauna and flora. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Irena
We had fantastic day with George in Lahemaa national park. We had tons of questions related to history and he knew all the asnwers which made our day really interesting and fun. I wish all Estonians were more like him and have so much energy and fun all the time. Thank you so much!
We had an awesome day in Laheema National Park with our awesome, funny and brilliant guide Jevgeni! My parents and I absolutely loved the trip, we learnd so much from Jevgeni, who told us interesting things about Estonia´s culture and people. We also had funny conversations about Harry Potter and Pippi Longstocking :-) And also Jevgeni knows funny songs about German grammar, we were totally impressed! Thank you so much for a perfect day - we will come back one day!
We are a group from Denmark that had a guided tur to Lahemaa National Park on Maj 15th. We had an excellent guide called Olga. She was well informed , did a great job in bringing us to beautifuld spots and managed to keep the group in great spirit. Her English was remarkable. The daytrip is an aboslute "must-do" when you visit Estonia. i recommand Tallinn Traveller Tour. You wont be disappointed. Thank you Olga for a wonderful day. Many regards from the 7 Danes.
Daytrip to Talehaa: best experience of the stay!! Great program with beautiful nature and sowjet relicts that I've never seen before. I can only strongly recommend it, it is worth every cent. And don't miss the delicious lunch that is offnered in the tour - one of the best meals I've eaten in Estonia. Special thanks to the absolutly great guide Jüri (George): so friendly, so many facts and fun and perfect English speaking - best guide :-) Thanks from Germany Katharina
We did the Lahemaa national park tour yesterday with Olga. The tour was fantastic-really interesting, and a great selection of different activities-with a particular highlight for me being the Captain's village-climbing the soviet watchtower and seeing the maritime museum and meeting its owner. Olga was one of the best guide's I've ever had.-really knowledgable about her country's history, mythology and traditions, interesting and so much fun to spend a day with-thank you v much!
We had an awesome trip a couple weeks ago. The guide (George) was absolutely fun and entertaining (his somersaults are amazing :P ). His knowledge about the estorian history is remarkable! The lunch was the best salmon we ever had! The host was friendly and made ourself feel comfortable. Overall the whole tour was worth it.
Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the guide I went on this tour last year. We were a group of 4 incl the guide. He did so much driving and still had enough energy to tell us so much about this area. He knew so many hidden places, it was like a little explorer tour! Love it! Thank you!
Wonderful tour I have been on last year. The guide was great and the tour was big fun, the lunch was very good! Highly recommended, I liked it very much. Thank you for everything!
Last week we did the Lahemma National Park Tour with our guide George. We were lucky having the fist day of sunshine this year which made the tour even more awesome than it would have been otherwise. George gave an interesting overview on Estonias nature and culture. We went to some different places (a walk through bog, an abandoned submarine station, a waterfall, a canyon) and had an amazing lunch at Käsmo. George made the tour really interesting and funny by his own inimitable way of telling us historical stuff and fun facts. Thanks for the memorable day!
The Swiss Junior Nationalteams in Curling made a great tour with guide Liine. Just brilliant!!! Scary stories, interesting facts, scintillating wit, coherent language - and of course the hot chocolate afterwards. Thank you!
We just finished the tour with our guide liine. Although it was snowing we did not mind the cold weather, the stories made it all worth it. And of course the hot chocolate afterwards. Best thing to do to get to know the city in a short time. Greetings!
I took the Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski tour with my family this week and was frankly disappointed. We were accompanied by 2 other tour guides who had come along to learn. They took the best seats in the bus while we were stuck in the back. At lunchtime, the 3 guides sat with 2 customers - who could ask all the questions they wanted, while we were left alone. On the bus, it was difficult to know when the chatting between the 3 guides had stopped and the information had started, particularly as the radio was on most of the time. Just a thought, but if you had a guide who had lived through some of the Soviet era, they could have provided a lot more insight.
Tallinn was a great place with friendly people and Liina was no exception. The walk revealed places we had missed during our stay, both her energetic and knowledgeable way of explaining tales and legends was exceptional. recommend this to anyone but be aware there are plenty of steps and cobbles.
Last month i had the chance to make 2 different tours with Tallinn Traveller, i made Lahema National Park with Iida-Leena and Coastal Cliffs and Soviet Paldiski with Mart. Both tours were amazing. Iida and Mart were great, friendly, good communicators and they explained a lot about Estonia and the Estonians. On both tours, i had the chance to left the beautiful but tourist-crowded Tallinn for a couple of days and travel to Estonian countryside and somehow experience the Estonian way of life. Nature, waterfalls, Manor houses, beautiful landscapes, old Soviet airplanes, missile shelters, old submarine base and.... a swimming MOOSE! :D Thank you Iida-Leena, Mart and Tallinn Traveler staff for giving me 2 memorable days in Estonia! I felt in love with Estonia, it's a wonderful country and i'm sure i will be back one day! :)
It was a very enjoyable and very informative tour of wonderful nature. The meal and walkaround the captain's village was great. The keepers of the captain's school are great and very friendly people. Our guide IDA was very good. We should have multi-day tour with her. I want to give a special thank to Ida for her enthusiasm and explanation.
Had a fantastic day on the Lahemaa National Park tour with Kristiina - she was awesome and took us to some beautiful places. Definitely recommend this tour.
Perfect! Really enjoyed my day. Nice views, nature and a wonderfull meal at the fishers place! Small groups and friendly guide with a lot of info and details. Superb!
We did the Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski tour with our guide Iida-Leena. We've spent the last six weeks touring various Baltic States and this was by far our best tour. Lida-Leena was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and really gave us a feel for what makes Estonia and Estonians tick. Our rating - Brilliant!
I did Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski tour with great tour guide Kristiina. I enjoyed the trip a lot - I always like to have another look at the city and its surroundings so the trip was just perfect for me. Many places I've never thought they existed, great atmosphere, nice stories. You can see some photos from the tour on my blog also - http://gorgeousplanet.blogspot.com/2014/08/estonia-wycieczka-z-tallinn-traveler.html Thanks! It was a nice day ;)
We went on the ghost tour in Tallinn in August 2014. Liina was an amazing tour gide, she's a very good story teller!! Also she has a nice sense of humor. We've already been two days in Tallinn, but during the tour we saw new interesting places. Afterwards we went together to Pierres Cholocats for a nice cup of hot chocolat! Price, including the drink, was 13 euro and well worth it!
I went on the Lahemaa Day Tour and had a great time. I made new friends with other tourists, enjoyed the salmon lunch and all of the things we explored during the tour - Jagala Waterfall, Viru Bog, old soviet remains, etc. Mart was a wonderful guide who took us to all the things mentioned in the tour description and also ventured off into finding a new beach to explore as well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Estonia - it's a nice break from the Old Town touristy feel.
Good morning,it was great our tour with you. It was yesterday and we went to Lahemaa national park with our guide Ira, we enjoyed it very much and the lunch was great even with friends we didn't invite.♥♥♥
A little minus was the fact that during summertime it's not really dark by 8pm. Maybe it could be a little bit later? But the lack of darkness did in no way ruin the tour atmosphere thanks to the great storytelling! The stories were interesting and spooky at the same time and found out lots of interesting things about Tallinn Old town. Totally worth the 13€, plus the hot chocolate at the end of the tour was amazing. Can totally recommend the tour!
Had a blast with Iida on our trip to Lahemaa. She was incredibly knowledgeable, charming, and easy going. She had tons of fun facts about Estonia to share with us throughout. My only complaint is I wish this was a multi-day trip rather than just one day. Regardless, it was a beautiful glimpse into many of the wonders that Lahemaa had to offer.
I've had an interesting, very well organized and informative tour to Narva with a wonderful guide Reelika! Before Narva we saw also Kohtla-Jarve, Sillamae, an old train station and a factory, a ghost town, a tank T-34, a lot of industrial things that I like so! I'm Russian but it was very interesting to see this part of a post soviet territory! We were only 5 and Reelika drive us in a car herself. It was a excellent day!!!!
Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski Tour was spectacular, so glad I went! Highly recommended. Our guide Iida-Leena was fantastic.
Went on the Lahemaa National Park Tour, great summer weather, fantastic tour, best I've ever been on! Iida is a really good guide and also answered our thousands of questions very patiently and competently. Tour participants were very mixed, old, young, all nationalities.
We went on the Lahemaa national park tour on the 16th July 2014 and our guide was George. He was a very knowledgeable and great person as well as an excellent organizer. He was very friendly and engaging we were having such fun talking a lot about mushrooms and day to day life in Estonia. The fish lunch in lovely Käsmu was delicious and the people there had lots of character. We especially love the bog walk. Thanks a lot George. Hopefully we meet again on another tour.
We took the tour 20/07/14 with Iida as our guide. She was great, and the tour was wonderful. We never would have seen some of the things we did if on our own. Iida's English was excellent, and she was humorous and informative.
We had a great trip with George on Saturday June 28th to Narva. This was a great experience and George a great guide. We strongly recommend this tour, to all, who wants to understand about estonian history.
Iida and Anneli were both very pleasant and friendly and our tour with Iida was wonderful! She gave us a great idea of the historical significance of what we saw and extra opportunities for excitement if we so chose to do so. It was well worth a days outing to see more of beautiful Estonia and learn more about the culture, people, architecture, land and we even saw a mouse, a frog and a spider during our journey through the bog. Though I'm sure she gets asked the same questions by different tourists, Iida answered all of our tourist questions with great energy and generosity and was a wealth of good information regarding all of Tallinn and Estonia. Thanks very much! :)
I want to thank Jevgeni for a wonderful day tour in Narva. We learned so much- in his calm was of speaking he was able to explain the history and plight of Estonia . He was a real professional, always smiling and accomodating. Highly recommended as was Marii who organized this for us. I shall use their services again for other trips, as I am presently living in Tallinn and want to see and learn as much as posible while here.
My friend and I went on the day trip to Lahemaa National Park in June 2014 and had a fantastic time. Our guide Jüri (George) was fantastic - the most enthusiastic guide we have had on our trip so far. He made sure we saw what we wanted to see, and was very perceptive and receptive to what we wanted to do. He was very knowledgable and told great stories of the history and culture of Estonia. We even had an interesting political conversation that was objective and open-minded. He was also very clear and organised in guiding us and made it all very easy and smooth. Although the weather was a little dreary on the day, he was very positive and we had lots of fun! We really appreciate Jüri's efforts to make the tour what it was - a stark contrast to stock-standard tour guides who struggle to deviate from the set course/script.
It was such an amazing tour. Marc and I would always be part of the tour again. Our tour guide was Jüri and he was brilliant. Had made us laugh all the time and he wasn't not always funny but also very informative. We learnt a lot about the history and also had time to digest all the information while the fantastic lunch we had at the Baltic Sea Side in a boat. All in all it was fantastic every time again. Thank so much, Isabell and Marc.
Well done Tallinn Traveller Tours and thanks to our wonderful guide Heli, one of the best tour guides you could ever hope for. A wonderfully bubbly and energetic young lady with a real talent and passion for storytelling. Superb English too. Over the 2 hours she told lots of great ghost tales with an wicked sense of humour and captivated her audience totally. Among these ghostly tales she added a few other historic details and quirky, funny anecdotes. You cover quite a distance walking around the beautiful streets of the old town but you get a real great feel for the town and some wonderful views from the viewing platforms at the top of the town. It can be a bit steep uphill but everyone should be able to manage and we'll worth the views. Heli organised a nice drink for everyone at a really cosy cafe at the end of the tour which is a really nice way to finish off a great tour. So where you're next in Tallinn check out this Ghost tour and if all their tour guides are as good as Heli you'll have a great evening. 10/10 to Tallinn Traveller Tours, great value at 13€, well done and thank you!
Myself and two grown-up daughters did the Paldiski tour with Mart during our too-short 1 week trip to Tallinn. What a great day out that was. Full of surprises (I won't spoil them). There was only one other couple in the group (Tony & Susan, if you read this ...thanks for being such great company). It felt more like a day out with friends than an organised tour. Mart was more than happy to be flexible on the itinerary as we worked around the changable weather and enjoyed a little side-trip searching unsuccessfully for a mythical soviet bunker :). Mart's a funny, smart guy and really made the day. If you meet him ask him to do his hilarious impersonation of an annoyed Estonian waitress. Priceless.

Last year I did the Lahemaa national park tour and also the Old town free tour. It was great and very informative. This time I decided for the Paldiski tour. Our guide Karin was excellent and we had a super wonderful day! I can highly recommend Tallin Traveller tours! I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Wonderful day trip to beautiful Lahemaa National Park with Kalev, a great and interesting tour guide who was ever helpful and friendly. Also, enjoyed an informative Old Town walking tour with our entertaining tour guide Heli! Would highly recommend both these tours! (:
Yesterday I came across a Tallinn travellers Tours flyer. I forgot to write a good review of the Coastal Cliffs & Soviet Paldiski I did 2 years ago..... . Very very good tour and excellent guide (johanna maybe?) everything accurately explained.
Wonderful day trip to Lahemaa wth Kalev! My partner and I especially enjoyed the walks through the woods and crossing the bog ponds. Kalev was an exceptional guide!
Yesterday we took the Lahemaa National Park tour and had a great day. The guide made everything interesting, with lots of stories about life in Estonia. The salmon at the lunch stop was absolutely deliscious and the visit to the disused soviet submarine base was rather different.
I went on the Haapsalu tour which was great because you see the things in Estonia you otherwise not would see. I actually use this review to give some ideas because you haven´t give this tour so much. The second visit is a old monastery which you also visit in the paldiski tour, maybe a visit to another place is better so you see completely different things. The other is I didn´t found the visit of the little harbor, for me it didn´t add something extra. Although these points I will recommend the tour because you see lots of things and the stories behind the sightseeings are interesting. The last point is that this tour is often cancelled maybe its an idea to do this tour on another day to see of there are more people who book this tour or to do the day on 2 days so people have more possibilities to do these tours, although I don´t know of you already looked to these options.
Great trip, you get to see something else of estonia. You don´t only see nature but also a lot of culture which you otherwise never would have seen. The guides were also nice and funny. trip I would definitely recommend
Seven of us booked trip to Lahemaa National Park in July 2013. Our guide Kaido. Very good day trip. Our guide drove us around the whole day and answered all our questions. Kaido has a vast knowledge and told us everything we wanted to know about Estonia. Kaido was a really fun guy and all of us had a great day out. We couldn't have done the trip ourselves. We really enjoyed the trip. Thank you
Seven of us booked a second trip with our guide Kaido. Very good day trip. Our guide drove us around the whole day and answered all our questions. Kaido has a vast knowledge and told us everything we wanted to know about Estonia. Kaido was a really fun guy and all of us had a great day out. We couldn't have done the trip ourselves. Thank you Samir and the gang from London.
Kaido did a very good job with interesting information about the history of the people of Estonia. The girls in the information center were very friendly and helpful.
It was our first time in Estonia and wanted to get into the countryside without hiring a car. We took the Lahemma National Park tour which was guided by Karin. I live right beside the Killarney National Park and we do nothing like this. Karin was great and has since become a friend. The variety experienced on the tour made the day out feel only like a few hours. Do it if you have the chance.
When I travel, I crave new and different experiences. The only way I can describe Narva & Eastern Bloc Tallinn tour is an absolute adventure. Going to the Russian/Estonian Border seeing relics of the Old Communist Occupation in the east and learning about the immense history of the region were all highlights. The guides were great. I'd go back again in a heartbeat, even if it's just for the herring.
A very nice day trip in a small bus, which I did together with 7 others, plus the guide, Mart, who was not only most friendly and pleasant but also extremely knowledgable, and able to give good answers to all the questions we threw at him ! A highlight of the day trip was the excellent meal we enjoyed at the museum ( !! ) in Käsmu - lovely salmon and potato ; it couldn't have tasted any better and there was even some cake afterwards, all for only 8 Euros a head ( i.e. for the food ; the tour cost 49 Euros per person ). For that we were also treated to a short guided tour of the boat & ship museum next door, which contains many interesting maritime artefacts, as used during the last hundred years or more. The coastline with all the forest is unspoilt and lovely, and very well worth experiencing. The bogland too was interesting ; and Mart's knowledge of natural history provided us with everything else we needed to know ! The tour is to be HIGHLY recommended, in every way !!
What an amazing company, with amazing tour guides! I was lucky enough to experience a personal tour, during the winter season with three guides, as they were creating a new tour to bring in for the summer season. Spent the day exploring several hidden spots of Estonia. Highlights included the Padise monastery, Haapsalu & Ungru Castle. Each guide was full of interesting information about each place we visited and definitely have a real love for Estonia. I couldn't have asked for a better experience as a lone traveller. Thanks guys!!
A great day trip to Lahemaa! Unfortunatly I don't remember the name of our guide, but he took us in wonderful places and we ate good salmon at lunch stop!
A friend and I were thrilled to be taken on one of the first full tours of Narva & the Eastern Bloc from Tallinn. We spent more than 12 hours covering incredible ground with a very wide variety of historical, political and natural sights. Our host was informative and enthusiastic and very accommodating with a last-minute booking. Even if you've got a small group of two or three people interested, it's well worth inquiring about a private tour any day of the week, beyond the standard Saturdays that they suggest.
My girlfriend and me did the tour last week with Karin as our guide and it was amazing. Although it started a bit slow with the first stop not that overwhelming it speeded up a lot and was really a great experience. We especially liked the tasty smoked salmon for lunch and the walk through the bog. Karin was always friendly and helpful and did her very best to make us feel comfortable, what we enjoyed a lot. I would definitely recommend the tour to my friends, as it was one of the highlights of our trip.
We had a awesome day with Tarmo, our Tour Guide. We even shot some Videos which can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFpG9ab9ki0 At the end of the tour a little firework will await you ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A956BkHj-B8 This tour is a must for every Estonia Visitor. See you next time.
My friends and I joined the Lahemaa National Park tour on Sunday 10th March 2013. We had a fantastic day and it was the highlight of our trip to Tallinn.
My parents and I joined the day trip on Sunday the 10th of March 2013. All of us, are not the museum types, so we figured out that this would be a great way to see a bit outside of Tallinn, and get a bit more of the Estonian culture and history by means of a local guiding us around. This tour was definitely the highlight of our trip (although Tallinn is gorgeous!!!). Nevertheless, you have no idea of the beauty of the countryside unless you go out of the city. Our tour guide (I hope I spell it correctly) Tarmo, took us to different places including the Jagala waterfalls, an old Russian Submarine base, and to the old maritime town Kasmu where we visited the old captain’s school (now a museum which is run by great people) and walked across the Baltic Sea to one of the Islands. Furthermore we got to try out one typical Estonian tradition: swinging on a group swing. Besides that Tarmo did not have a fixed time plan, which also left open some time for flexibility! Yes, this tour is very recommendable!! Thank you!
This Lahemaa day trip was awsome.
Went on 29th december 2012 with my niece. Enjoyed every minute of the tour: it gets more and more adventurous as you keep seeing absolutely stunning landscapes. Excellent guide, plenty of explanations given and not banal or standard touristy info.
This was a fascinating day out, and such a refreshing change from the faux mediaeval tourist trap that is Tallin. A real insight into present and past life in Estonia and the beauties of the countryside. I think the highlight of the day was the discussion over lunch, and delicious food. I'd recommend this day trip highly to anyone who has an interest in history, politics, people, wildlife.......
Went to Lahemaa National Park on 2nd November, thoroughly enjoyed it! Best decision we made on holiday to book the tour to see more of Estonia than just the capital city. Tour was really relaxed and Mart our guide was a really nice guy and informative. I think my friend was rather fond of the Red Setters at the lunch stop!! Fantastic day out and I would recommend this company to anyone who goes to Tallinn! :D Thank you again Mart!
Recently went on a day trip to Lahemaa with our excellent guide Tarmo. I would recommend anyone visiting Tallinn to do this, as it really showed areas of Estonia off the beaten track. Absolutely brilliant especially the submarine base and the bog walk. Tarmo was fantastic, explaining about life in Estonia and the places we visited in depth. Thanks
After having spent a few amazing days in the stunningly beautiful city we wanted to get away to the countryside. We went on the Laheema National Park day trip with Cody. It was definately worth going! He is full of knowledge, cool stories and the whole tour is a bit away from the usual routes! Highly recommend the Bike Tours as well!
First, we did the Laheema Tour and enjoyed it so much, that we decided spontaneously to book a second trip to the West Coast. We had different tour guides (Kaur to the West Coast and Cody to Laheema) which we both felt, were absolutely enthusiastic about their jobs and, we spent two great days in beautiful Estonian nature with them and we received first hand impressions of the "story behind the scenery" - in every respect and as much as we could bear in just a few hours.... Thanks a lot you guys - your performance is excellent and far beyond the tourist standard !! Edeltrud & MIchael, Germany
Great Tour, organization, guide, visited places, food, weather! Visit the office if you are in Tallinn: they will be really rich of worthy infos and suggestions!
really really good. only took this day trip, which i considered as the "tourist option", due to lack of convenient public transport connections, but it was worth every penny. there's no way you could do so much in one day relying on buses or even driving yourself without being accompanied by a local. the guide (?)cody was great, very knowledgable and interesting, we were surprised to hear he'd only been doing it for a month, it seemed like he had years of experience and knowledge. all the stop-offs were interesting, varied and stunningly beautiful, and swimming in the bog was AMAZING. and the vegetarian lunch option - delicious! recommend 100 percent!
I had the great pleasure of participating in the "Tallinn Ghost Tour" guided by the hilarious Heli Jurisson on 14 August. With her tremendous enthusiasm and razor-sharp wit, she made the undead come alive with her magnificent storytelling.
Had a wonderful time at Lahemaa national park. Talked the whole way there and back to our guide. You will love the tour from start to finish. Both the history and the beauty were amazing.
My girlfriend wanted to check out nature, so we did the National Park day trip. We got the nature, all right . . . forests, the sea, and an intriguing walk through a mire . . . but we got much more. The guide, an extremely articulate and intelligent young man named Kaur, gave brilliant lessons in Estonian history and culture. The key is sitting up in front during at least part of the day trip and peppering him with questions. Kaur boasts an original, precocious, and uncompromising intellect, and based on some of his remarks about the other guides, I suspect they are also of high caliber. There is even an adventurous walk through of an abandoned Soviet submarine installation. If you really want to learn about Estonia, rather than just walk along the pretty streets of Tallinn, this tour is absolutely essential.
we bought the lahemaa national park and western coast, it was a great day thanks to our special and pleasant guide MART ! we have a wonderful reminder of our vacation
Ghost tour july 2012 I've jjust been on a wonderful Ghost tour with Stacy as a guide. You've made my day and it was a surprising and very nice ending of the tour.:-) I really enjoyed both the trip and the chat.
It was an awesome trip to the Lahemaa national park, even through an early snow storm. The place is amazing in its own right in winter. Thanks to our guide who braved the elements and hiked us across the frozen bog. :-)
When we first saw advertising posters of tours offered to Lahemaa national park, we didn't even think about doing one. After a few days we had to admit that it is quite difficult, if not impossible, to get to Lahemaa national park without a private vehicle. So we decided to do this trip. Mart was our guide and showed up in a very good mood in the morning to pick us up. He was very friendly the whole day, brought us to beautiful places and told us a lot about Estonia. We felt like having a local friend showing us the best places of Lahemaa. Without him we could never have found all the places. One of the highlights was the Kasmu Maritime Museum, run by an Estonian family who served us an amazing lunch and guided us through the museum. Also scenic walks and spectacular nature views we had - all that accompanied in a group of 4 persons, very flexible and individual. PERFECT!! Bottom line: DO IT! Thank you Mart for this amazing trip!!
Sorry its taken so long to write the review but things got back to normal very soon after we got back to England (Rush Rush) . This was our first visit to Estonia and to the wonderful capital ciy of Tallin. My wife(Rosie)and myself (Rob) were lucky enough to have what we considered to be a private tour as we were the only two people taking part with our very knowledgable tour guide (Kalev). who spoke in very good English, Our tour was on a cold cloudy day on November12th 2011 just after the football match against Ireland(sorry Kalev)and were taken by car for the full 7 hours around the Western Coast and Paldiski. Our guide kept us very well informed of the history and pointed out spots you would not normally see on any other tour.I think he was quite embarassed when we got to the lagoon/prison only to find the gates were shut and locked the only disapointment to a fantastic well planned tour. We will both recomend the tour to friends who might be going to Tallin in the future. Wondered if you still had the photographs you took of us to send on e-mail to show our friends of our day out. We gave you e-mail address on the day.. Many thanks again keep up the good work Rob& Rosie Hertfordshiere England
This was my 8th visit to Tallinn and although I don’t usually go on organised trips we came across Tallinn Traveller Info by chance and signed up for the Paldiski tour. What a great day we had and our tour guide Kalev, I have to say, went the extra mile to make our experience a more personal and memorable one. I’m planning my next visit Tallinn in the spring of 2012 and hope to go on the Lahemaa National Park trip.
This was a great tour and Kalev, our tour guide was a hero. He answered any questions we had, and was very friendly. He really cared about our experience and did everything in his power to make it happen. He also took photos of the whole tour and e-mailed them to us afterwards at no extra charge. I don't usually leave reviews, but I couldn't help but share my great experience on this tour with this company. We went on the western coast and paldiski tour.
We made an amazing daytrip to the Western coast. Kalev, our guide (and owner of the company), drove us around the whole day. He was willing to answer all our (stupid) questions and told us everything we wanted to know about Estonia en the sights we were visiting. Kalev was a really fun guy to go with and he made our daytrip a very relaxing day out!
Fantastic tour - from the friendly and helpful service in the office to our guide, Mart., and all that we saw. The small group, flexibility in the itinerary, the excellent driving and great knowledge of our guide, - one of the best tours I've taken anywhere, and such good value.
Best trip, best guide, wonderful scenery and money well spent on this trip. Will definitely do another trip with you when next in this part of the world. Many thanks Kiwi Heidi
Thanks, Mart for such an excellent time! The Salmon was amazing! haha If you ever come to Liverpool I will give you a tour.
Lahemaa National Park day tour - wow best tour ever and I have done many all over the world - the trip was a day I will never forget from the wonderful company to the amaing sites things I will truly never forget it was not just a trip it made memories - priceless, thank you, IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE, DO THE TRIP
Thanks to Kalev for a fantastic day in Laheema Nationalpark! I had a brilliant day there!
Just got back home after a FANTASTIC day in Lahemaa National Park with Kalev. Was just a brilliant day, and despite the rain our spirits were high. Saw so many places and things, but without ever feeling rushed...and was great to see what else Estonia had to offer outside Tallinn!. Really an absolutely super duper, well-organised but relaxed trip which you MUST go on if you are in Estonia! THANKS!!
Well worth the money and such a different tour than the normal type! When Mathias spoke about the history of Estonia with such emotion you could actually get a creepy feeling that you were there, back then! We also visited the Sea Museum in Kasmu (the Captain's village) and the guide in the Museum also spoke about his country with such emotion. One word of advice and it is not a critisicm, that the guide when driving the bus when speaking, could use a microphone as it is very hard for the people at the back of the bus to hear what is being said. Rating: 10 out of 10
Our guide Mathias was really friendly and instructive and showed us wonderful sights all over the park. This tour is the best way to see lots of amazing landscapes and it's totally recommended for everyone! Thanks
This was such a great tour, definitely value for money. We were a group of six of ages ranging from 30s to 60s and all thoroughly enjoyed visiting Lahemaa National Park with our guide, Kalev. He was so friendly and didn't mind our constant questions about life in Estonia etc and also did a detour on the way as we wanted to see Jagala waterfall. Brilliant day.
It was really great!!! Thank you very much to be such closer. Cheers
Fantastic tour. Enjoyed every moment. Kalev was great, really friendly and showed us so many fantastic places round the Lahemaa National Park in a day. One of the best tours I've done. The best way to see places outside the city if you can. Highly recommended and well worth every euro!!!
Our trip with Kalev to the Lahemaa National Park was a very good organized, fine travel - Kalev did a great job, and we spent a wounderful day in Estonian nature...
The Lahemaa-Tour with Kalev we did on Tuesday, 2 August 2011 was one of the best things that happened to us when we travel - and we travel a lot... He showed us sooo many awesome sites and gave us so much interesting information on Estonia, Tallinn, Lahemaa and the Estonians in general. 10 hours or more flew away within seconds... Take your swimming togs with you, probably you can make use of it at the end of the day...;-) Thanks to Kalev and the whole team of Travellers for giving us such a good time!
We came to Tallinn on a weekend trip from Helsinki, and did both the Lahemaa and Funky Bike Tours. The Tallinn Traveller team looked after us really well the whole time - we couldn't have planned a better time ourselves. Expect to laugh, learn and be pushed out of your everyday travel comfort zone.
Easily one of the best tours I've been on. Spent a full day with Kalev roaming the Lahemaa National Park and seeing a side to Estonia that you just don't get in the city. Our guide was friendly, relaxed and always up for a chat. Almost felt like we were spending the day with a good friend. If you're in Estonia for a few days, don't leave without taking this tour.
All our tour guides are young educated locals so the tours feel more like discovering with a local friend.
With us you'll explore the highlights, but also experience authentic less-discovered destinations.
We want everyone to get personal attention from the guide so we aim to keep our groups rather small.
