I had an awesome time on my tour from Riga to Tallinn. Going in December meant that I got to see the snowy countryside. From the beautiful bobsleigh track and the spectacular views there to visiting Castle ruins, beautiful small towns and the pretty city of Parnu. During my trip we also fortunately had the flexibly to visit a bog as well which was a truly stunning experience. I 100% recommend to anyone wishing to explore the Latvian and Estonian countryside!

Ruta, who turned out to be a font of information on the Lithuanian history,culture, tradition, astronomy and astrology, kept us engrossed with her insights and stories. We had a lot of fun on our way from Riga to Tallinn with the bus from Riga to Tallinn. We had a private tour for our friends group, and the day just flew by. We would gladly repeat the experience.

We recently took a the tour bus from Riga to Tallinn, and it was a pleasant experience. The journey showcased the Baltic countryside beautifully, making the ride enjoyable. The car was comfortable, and the driver provided interesting insights about various landmarks. With several stops along the way, we had the chance to explore some charming small towns.

The tour was a perfect way to see more of Latvia and Lithuania than we otherwise would have from a bus, which was the other option to travel between the two cities. Laura was a terrific guide, extremely knowledgeable about the two countries and about the sites along the route. And a vibrant personality. She had the five of us comfortable as a group within fifteen minutes of leaving the meeting place. The van was comfortable, and the chosen sightseeing stops were varied and interesting, and perfect for breaks.

"Catching the sights enroute to Riga"

This is a long day but very interesting and so much better than flying or traveling via bus. We stopped at Kaunas, Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace and Salaspils. There was ample time to explore at each stop and our guide was a wealth of information. We would definitely recommend this mode of transportation and Laura!

I really like this idea of sightseeing from one place to another. I have travelled the world and been from country to country. I think it is clever and great to have this option rather than just taking a bus from one place to another. I was able to see a lot of sites that I wouldn’t have been able to go to due to time constraints. Ruta was knowledgeable and friendly. The van was comfortable as there were only 6 of us rather than 8. The restaurant we stopped at served delicious food with reasonable prices. The sites we stopped at were relevant and we had enough time considering it was just a day tour. Definitely recommend this tour!

While it was a long day, it was totally worth it. Our guide Ruta was lovely, she was smiling, approachable, knowledgeable and always helpful. Ruta drove really well all day and nothing was too much trouble. She gave us great information and it shared lots of insight.

All of us, 16 people in two vans, enjoyed the tour, especially for the additional information we got from our guide. Unfortunately the van had a technical problem and traveled at quite low speed. Daumants is a very good guide and driver.

In addition to seeing sights (the official stops described in the tour description as well as beautiful countryside between the two cities) and learning some history of the countries and cities, we were able to get a sense of current culture and life in Latvia and Lithuania through our guide, Laura. My van is good. The staff is kind and professinal. Lunch is delicious and not expensive. The programe is sufficient. Usually one day tour from Riga to Rundale palace is 60-80€ and one day tour from Vilnius to hill of crosses is about 50-60euro. So it is a most valueable way to transfer from Riga to Vilnius.

Booking this tour was hands down the best decision for traveling from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide Laura was amazing, knowledgeable and just a lovely and funny person. She really made the 11+ hours fly by. The stops along the way were chosen well, and Laura gave us lots of background info on the individual stops but then we also had time to just explore a little. The lunch stop was very yummy and a great location and the fact that she ordered our chosen food ahead saved us time. We travelled as a family of 3 and really can't recommend this tour enough (even our teenager had a great time :)

We really enjoyed this tour! We don't drive, which made it challenging when planning a trip that would take us to all of the key places we wanted to visit in Latvia and Lithuania. This tour was perfect because it took us to many of those places while also moving us along to Vilnius, the next stop on our Baltic journey! Laura, our tour guide, was great. She is energetic and kept the tour moving along with the perfect amount of time to visit each place. If you unfortunately fell asleep in the car (jet lag, not boredom!), you didn't miss important details, as she saved the key facts for our stops to see the various sites. Laura somehow remembered everyone's names! There was a good variation in the types of sites we visited. A must see for us was the Hill of Crosses, and we were glad we saw it! We were also glad to visit the Salaspils Memorial and the Rundale Palace. It's hard to choose, but my favourite place we visited was Kaunas. We took this tour in December, so the Christmas Market there was a site to see, especially lit up at night! This was a jam-packed day, but a great way to travel between Riga and Vilnius and see unique sites along the way. We highly recommend this tour or the same tour in the other direction.

It was a trip that brought us safely to Vilnius and along the way we saw the different places that have meant so much to the locals the memorial , the palace , Kausas the other capital of Lithuania and my favorite the hill of the crosses with a superb lunch at a cozy countryside restaurant by the lake that makes you want to stay. I recently had the incredible opportunity to embark on a tour that surpassed all my expectations in terms of price, activities, and overall experience. This adventure took us on a journey through the enchanting Latvian and Estonian countryside, and it was so much more than just a typical point A to point B excursion. Our day began with a thrilling climb up the Soviet-era Bobsleigh track in Sigulda. From there, we ventured to the medieval Old Town of Cēsis, the charm of this place was absolutely captivating. I can't recommend this tour enough. We were a group of 8 women traveling together, and this transfer tour made the process of moving all of us (and all of our luggage) from one city to the other not just completely painless, but also genuinely enjoyable. Turning the day into a lovely, relaxed tour where we could get out and wander and see the incredible sights along the way turned what could have been a boring transfer day into a truly memorable part of our trip. The lunch was wonderfully chosen and really a highlight as well. Most of all, our guide Laura just stole the show. She was an absolute delight, and incredibly gracious and accommodating to our big group. I can't recommend this enough!

I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Our guide was Laura (Lau-ra), who was perfect: highly knowledgeable, hugely enthusiastic, and very professional. Highlights of the tour were the Hill Of Crosses, and Salapils Memorial, with additional stops at Rundale Palace and Kaunas. Also have to mention the restaurant Laura took us too for a delicious, Lithuanian lunch. Additional charge, but great value, and super location. Perfect day trip; comfortable minibus, great locations, awesome guide, couldn’t fault it.

This is the best way to see both countries more than just the capital cities and it's the most time-efficient way. So much better than a boring bus ride if you go direct between the 2 cities. I had wanted to visit the Hill of Crosses before coming to this region, and it would have been an extra day's excursion from Vilnius if I hadn't joined this tour. It was a fantastic trip! I also had chance to visit some places that I hadn't heard of before. Laura was very friendly, enthusiastic and fun. I feel very lucky to have her as the guide. Unless you are flying or self-driving, this tour is your best option travelling between Riga and Vilnius!

I would highly recommend the one way Riga to Vilnius sightseeing tour. The tour gives you the opportunity of stopping off at places of interest between the 2 cities that you otherwise would not get to see. The Riga-Vilnius sightseeing tour bus was a perfect way to travel between the two capitals while visiting some hard-to-reach sites in Latvia and Lithuania. The tour was the perfect balance of information offered at each site, free time for exploration, and general fun background info as we drove. Excellent tour to explore beautiful sights on the way from city to another. Laura was the most accomodating guide, she gave us good introductions to all of the sights before we went to explore them independently. Timing was spot on, did not feel rushed and even though this is a full day trip, it was not as exausting as I though before booking. We booked the Riga to Tallinn sight-seeing tour. There were a total of six passengers which made the ride very comfortable. Laura was our amazing guide. She is very energetic and fun. We were delighted to see Mike at the Riga meeting point since he had recently escorted us from Tallinn to Riga. Mike has a good singing voice and is spontaneous with his stories. Like any good story teller, he does not let you know at the beginning that he is going into story mode. The weather cooperated with our journey. Although Mike did not have to deliver us our hotel, he surprised us again by doing just that. It is a wonderful way to enjoy sights while enjoying the weather, Mike's stories, and seeing interesting sights along the way. What a nice combination to create a terrific travel memory.

We took the trip on August 26th and it was well worth it as was the trip from Vilnius to Riga. There is temptation to just see the 3 Baltic capitals but this is a mistake. These trips enable you to see more of the 3 countries. This tour had 5 different u Interesting stops plus an excellent lunch at a brewery. Mike the guide was excellent. Highly recommended

"The absolute best way to travel from city to city"

Our guide Laura was very welcoming, knowledgeable and successful in making us excited to visit Lithuania for the first time. The day tour was great value for money in my opinion much better than just catching a coach. We saw interesting stops between Riga + Vilnius that we would have totally missed otherwise. It was a small bus so you were never waiting around for other people. The lunch stop was good, no complaints. Ps traveller tours are really good to deal with, any issues that arise their team are really responsive and professional.

When travelling between the Baltic capitals its tempting to take the quickest route but that would be a mistake. Instead for a bit more money take the guided sight seeing mini bus / people carrier and see more of Lithuania and Latvia. The vehicle was very comfortable but the highlight was our guide Laura. This was a great way to see a little of both Latvia and Lithuania other than the cities, and was made even better by Laura, who had more energy for 12 hours straight than you could possibly imagine. This was my second tour and there were four of us who previously took the Tallinn-Riga bus two days earlier. The only downside is that the lunch restaurant ran out of beer, which I think may have been a capital offense in Lithuania, although the venison sausages were delicious.

We traveled from Vilnius to Riga with Laura. The meeting point is not clearly described, a map with an X would be helpful. Luckily Laura was searching around for people. Kaunas (1 hour is too short), Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace and Salaspils are great stops. Laura is a good driver and a bottomless pit of energy. Hope to meet you again some day.

"A great option"

I was a little nervous about booking this option for traveling from Riga to Vilnius. I was a solo traveler in my sixties who doesn’t like tours. I shouldn’t have been nervous at all. It was a wonderful way to make the trip, and to see a few things in between. Our guide, Laura, was just delightful — giving us the background of every site we stopped at and, of course, telling us why her hometown of Vilnius was the most wonderful place in the world. The places we stopped — the Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses, and Kaunas — were varied and interesting. Sufficient time was allotted at each, and we arrived in Vilnius around 8PM, which at least in my mind was perfect. I recommend this.

Our guide / driver was excellent, would highly recommend. Numerous stops along the way, their is some light hiking involved so this trip is not suitable for mobility issues. Would a recommend bringing snacks and water, it is a very long 12h day. The lunch stop was superb after crossing border to Estonia however this comes late in the day 2-3pm.

This day tour was a great experience. The guide is very kind. He asked about our wishes to adapt the tour. We have seen a Lovely little town, have a walk around the gauja river and gone to so many other interesting place. For the lunch, we ate in a restaurant which offers good food for a good price. The guide helped us to choose typical meal and drink. Last but not least, we have talked about latvian situation and culture and he asked question about the place where we live. We had a bad english but he was very patient to repeat slowly when we née it and to understand what we said. So, it was very instructive, plenty of beautiful places and a good human expérience. We had a wonderful day visiting the Hill of Crosses & Rundale Palace. Mikelis was a perfect guide. The history and stories he shared were interesting and informative. The ride didn't seem so long listening to his interesting facts (he even jovially endured a geography quiz from my son). Mikelis never rushed us and was great with the kids. We also enjoyed what the family is now calling "Lunch in Lithuania" at a restaurant that was off the beaten path with delicious food. He was communicative and reached out to me an hour before pick-up to clarify details about the location of our ship. Also, when my father worried he left something in the van, Mikelis was very helpful in rechecking the van for us and even offered to let us come check it ourselves Excellent customer service all around. Do not hesitate to book this tour!

I'm a huge fan of transfer tours, even though they are long days, you get to see and do so much! Laura our guide was lovely and flexible in terms of how/where we spent time (though I would suggest some quiet time in the van as too much music can make it hard to relax/ doze off on the road). I really appreciated the way Laura communicates history in a way that we could understand and remember - we learnt a lot! :) The hill of crosses was a surprisingly interesting stop and we got to see the roses blooming at Rundale. We felt very lucky to have Mike as our tour guide and had fun day out and about in Latvia. The open-air art museum was ok for a stroll but not hugely exciting in my opinion - luckily Mike had a good instinct for what we would find more/less interesting and paced the tour accordingly. So we went on to Kuldiga which for me was the highlight of the tour - lovely town and waterfall, and a nice way to spend some time out of the city. Mike is an exceptional tour guide and a real highlight of our whole trip to the Baltics :)

First of all: even if the weather is harsh, don't hesitate to take part in this tour! The guide was funny and knowledgeable, and definitely contributed to make this trip even more pleasant. It's been raining with high wind for most of the day, but, honestly, this made even more interesting the experience at Salaspils and the Hill of Crosses. Of course, if you want to fully enjoy the Rundāle Palace Garden with all of its flowers, it is better to book the tour for a sunny day in May or June. St Peter and St Paul Cathedral in Kaunas is literally a piece of jewelry. All highly recommended!

Laura our guide was absolutely fantastic. This is a must do if you're travelling between the Baltic capitals. Let's you see sights that you would need a rental car to see and turns a mundane bus trip into a great day of sight seeing. Riga to Vilnius was great, highlights were the rose garden at the Baltic version of versailles. Also had a fabulous lunch at a deer farm Audruvis. Restoranas. The venison carpaccio and beet soup were spot on.

Such a fun trip from Riga to Tallinn. I’m so glad we had enough people to do the tour as I can’t imagine my Baltics trip without it. All of the stops along the way are “must see” so this is an excellent way to do a road trip but with a local guide. Laura was so energetic and fun and really exuded love for her homeland and knowledge of the history. We paid to do a quick tour inside Rundale Palace (only the gardens are included in the tour) which is good because it started pouring rain. The time allotted for Kaunas was enough to really take in the old town and see the castle. Highly recommend!

The tour was great. A big shoutout to our guide Mike: he was awesome! He told us many stories about Latvia and Estonia, helped us understanding better the history of these 2 countries, he narrated folk stories about the places we visited, he explained different type of plants and vegetation, etc. he is very knowledgeable and he is also talented: he sang for us a popular song at Viljandi! ( he’s a great at singing!). His English is excellent. The tour was well organized with a good balance between driving time and visiting places. Although the trip is from 9:00 to 21:00, the time went by quickly. Everything was perfect, the only thing I would change is the stop at the War Museum. Although the content is interesting ( and Mike did a great job in explaining things and even shared family stories regarding the Soviet occupation of Latvia) the displays at the museum need some improvement ( the dummies in uniform were a bit outdated) Probably, more time in the nature would be better.

A really great way of making the most of crossing the border. It’s really easy to just think of the cities when visiting the Baltic countries, however there are amazing locations outside of the capitals too and this trip is a really easy way to visit these locations. Our driver/ guide Mike was brilliant. He shared just the right amount of information at each stop and was able to answer all of our questions. We did the Riga to Tallinn sightseeing tour. Guide Mikelis took us for a long day full of sightseeing. We departed on time, the guide was there to greet us. The van was spacy, and very comfortable. We were so glad that we could participate, to enjoy the countryside and to see so much more of both Latvia and Estonia. Started at the bobsleigh track which was fun because we could walk down the track on foot. Soooo funny. The national park with the limestone cliffs was crazy beautiful. The guide explained a lot, let us taste some herbs in nature and he even sang for us. The towns of Cesis and Viljandi both were lovely. Had the opportunity to have lunch in a great restaurant in Valga. For us the least Intresting part was the military museum. But the highlight of the day was that we saw a wild brown bear near the woodlands, just beside the road. Incredible!!!!!! Mikelis was also so sweet to make a stop so I could photography one of the many many stork nests near the farms. I cannot recommend this tour enough, but it wouldn't have been as much fun as we didn't had this fantastic guide Mikelis.Thumbs up guys, keep on the good work!

"A fun and interesting way to travel from Vilnius to Riga"

We were a group of eight friends who decided to use this tour to get to Riga. It was a great decision. We got to visit the town of Kaunas that we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The stop at the Hill of Crosses was both eerie and interesting. We were then lucky to have the most beautiful light when we got to Rundale Palace. Because we travelled in the very late Autumn, the days were short and saw the most beautiful sunset there. Laura, our guide, was enthusiastic and gave a fantastic energy to the whole tour and agreed without hesitation to try to see Salsapils in pitch darkness. Thanks to one of our friend’s strong photography lighting we got to experience this place in a very different way. It was intensely emotional. All in all, we had fun and saw so much more than we would otherwise. For a great price. Thank you!

We had a personal tour on sunday 9 august 2020. our guide (Mikelis) had studied geography, i remember. We really enjoyed the tour. Visited Kaunas, hills of crosses, Salaspils Memorial, Rundāle palace and had a nice local food. In the morning when we arrived at the location the tour guide was all ready and good to go. The tour van was comfortable and had nice airconditioning. The tour guide even brought some extra water with her for us. Our tour guide was very excited and energetic, even though it was early in the morning. She also has a good sense of humour. She told us a lot about all kinds of stuff not only history of Latvia and Estonia but also some funny facts about Riga, Estonia and Tallinn. The stops underway are very welcome, not just for stretching your legs but they're also at very nice places where you wouldn't go at first. Liine showed us some sick berry plucking skills. Also the delicious lunch at an extraordinary restaurant was a nice surprise. It is highly recommended to take this tour. You won't be sorry.

"Wordly & religious splendor"

A great mix of a beautifully renovated palace and a pilgrimage site made by & for people (not institutions). Rundale palace is managed with obvious respect for Latvian heritage (e.g. wearing plastic shoe coverings to protect the 1760ies parquet flooring), and its (rose and other) gardens really invite you for a post-visit stroll. The Hill of Crosses is unlike any other religious site I've visited before, is still expanding, and - although there were many tourists, the atmosphere still felt 'real'. Definitely 2 sites I'd recommend visiting during a Baltics trip!

"Wonderful Midsummer excursion"

We had the first tour for Traveller Tours for the season due to coronavirus, and it was wonderful. Because no one else had booked we ended up with a private tour and had Ruta as our guide. She was a smart and kind guide and very patient with our 1 and 3 year olds. She was also proud to be Lithuanian and that was fun to see the Baltic pride and learn from a local. We loved the sights included in the Riga-Vilnius tour and thought the country side of both countries was stunning: lush, green, and in full bloom at this time of year. We were lucky to be ok to travel here from Helsinki and recommend seeing these underrated countries with this excellent tour.

"Not Just a Ride, But an Experience!"

As I understand it, the easiest way to get from Vilnius to Riga is to take a bus, and if all you care about is getting from Point A to Point B, I imagine the bus is fine. But if you are a traveler, and you really want to see more of Lithuania and Latvia than just a brief overview of their capital cities - and if you really want to get an understanding of the countries and the region from people who are from the area - you HAVE to do this sightseeing bus tour! Pickup (and arrival, for that matter) were on-time, but still left the group plenty of time for the scheduled stops (Kaunas; the Hill of Crosses; Rundale Palace). It seems like we had a "bonus" trip, because there was another guide who was actually "playing tourist" that day, so we had two sources of information and opinions to give us the complete story. Very well done, and highly recommended!

We were visiting Riga during Christmas time and had a great day trip to visit Rundale Palace, and it was an opportunity to cross into Lithuania and visit the Hill of Crosses. Anna was an excellent host - she was very pleasant and full of information about the Baltic countries and the similarities and differences in the cultures and histories. We asked a lot of questions during the drive between sites. The sites are interesting, but we got more out them with the background and context that Anna provided. We had a very enjoyable lunch in a local Lithuanian restaurant to round out the trip.

The park with the sand cliffs was a nice hike and break from driving. A trip well worth taking to see the country side of Latvia and Estonia. "Touring in Winter"

We are seniors and enjoyed this trip, the guide/driver was both entertaining and knowledgeable. We prefer to travel in winter so the tourist numbers are manageable, no queues etc however the down side of this tour is that the sites we stopped at were either closed or we arrived in darkness. The nature walk in Gauja National Park was excellent we arrived during daylight so we explored extensively in the time we had. The Valga military museum was closed but our guide had telephoned ahead and the curator opened the doors to us. It was really interesting a snap shot of what happened in the Soviet era. About ½ hours drive from the Tallinn drop off we visited, in pitch dark the remnants of a castle? We couldn’t take pictures so we don’t really have a record. FYI we travelled Vilnius to Riga by Express LUX bus as the sightseeing tour bus was not available, it was very cheap. €28 single. Punctual and comfortable with Wi-Fi and movies. Frankly we would have cancelled the Riga-Tallinn trip if we had taken the Vilnius - Riga sightseeing tour bus. I bet this is a most lively trip in summer with a full bus! We are glad we did it!

This trip was so much fun. We stoped at the Olympic bobsled track, which was awesome, hiked through part of a national park next to a river, stopped at a war museum and a couple of interesting towns. Lunch was at a local cafe. Our guide was informative and a fun road trip driver. My husband and I really enjoyed our day - long but fun!

Five destinations in a day to know amazing fall landscapes, included a rare gem in Valga, the war museum. More than a transfer between Riga and Tallinn sharing experiences with a group of maximum 8 people. We were driven and assisted by Daumants, a brilliant young Latvian that had to be till late with us as we had got a little stop at a gas station and because of the rain he was so kind of leaving us beside our hotel in Tallinn. The trip increased our understanding of this region and the tour guide Lamas was extremely informative and helpful. A suggestion would be to streamline stops at sites to allow more daylight in the last two hour segment, especially at this time of year. We are older and Lamas was understanding of our needs.

It was a joy to travel with my driver/guide, a fresh and knowledgeable young women. Kamile gave me a lot of helpful information for my time alone in Vilnius enhancing considerably my time spent there. Thank you!

Rundale Palace is a lovely czarist summer palace without the crowds of St. Petersburg and with wonderful rose gardens. It has only been open to the public for 5 years, so I expect that additional restoration work is planned for some of the rooms that don’t have the glitz of the fully restored rooms. The Hill of Crosses was very moving. Our tour guide, Laura, was amazing: very knowledgeable, outgoing and interacted so well with us. Her English is excellent and she projects her voice loud enough that she could be heard throughout our van.

My girlfriend and I took the Traveller Tours trip from Vilnius to Riga last week. It was a minibus of up to 8 and we were a full complement. The minibus and driver/guide arrived at the designated collection point early and introduced herself to us all and made us very welcome. It was clear from the outset our guide, Ruta, was enthused and full of passion. She spoke with great enthusiasm and exceptional knowledge about her country’s history - you certainly would not have thought that English wasn’t her first language her description being in great detail. All in all a great way to travel between these beautiful cities and to gain an appreciation of their history as well as to visit several interesting places en route. Would thoroughly recommend.

The sightseeing bus from Vilnius to Riga is amazing, there is no better way to travel between the two. Interesting stops along the way make the long distance seem short. Our tour guide was Laura. She is professional from warming us up to sharing with us what we are supposed to know about the scenes and history throughout the tour. What's more, she's an excellent driver, making the travel comfortable. Concerning the tour spots, I would suggest adding another half-hour stay at Kaunas. All in all, I highly recommend this to everyone planning to travel from Riga to Vilnius.

"Money well spent"

We upgraded to the private transfer (Riga to Vilnius) as we wanted to visit some different attractions (and also spend more time at some) to those on the group departure and it was well worth the extra expense. Beatrice met us at our apartment a few minutes early in a spacious van for a brief stop at Salaspils Memorial for a very brief stop as it started to rain. Beatrice was then able to time our stops at Rundale Palace and Hill of Crosses for longer stays while the sun was out and then drive during the rain (using a weather app we assume). We also had an extended stop in Kaunas where we visited the main churches, Beatrice showed us her favourite street art and then also visited Ninth Fort before proceeding to Vilnius, where Beatrice also assisted us in communication with the apartment owner. Overall it was like travelling with a friend rather than just a guide.

All the stop of points were of interest to the whole group and as we were on a private tour, Mike showed great flexibility in the schedule to tailor the day to us. This tour is the best way to travel from Riga to Vilnuis. Ruta our driver/guide was so knowledgeable and in the nicest way she took us to places where we would have had to organise a day tour from one or the other of the cities. We and five others were taken to Salaspils, the Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace etc. We enjoyed a nice lunch and the good company of people from other parts of the world and I would highly recommend travelling with this company. This was the 2nd tour we have done with Traveller Tours and I wish they had tours going into Poland. Much better than trains.

What a great way to get from Riga to Tallinn! Yes, I could have taken a much quicker trip on a direct bus, but I would have missed seeing so much of the lovely countryside in Latvia and Estonia--places that are definitely off the beaten track. And I wouldn't have had half the fun I did with our charming and enthusiastic guide, Hannes, and the nice group of travelers from Brazil, Germany, the UK and Spain. From slightly rigorous forest hikes to walkabouts in historic towns to a whacky tour of the former Soviet bobsled training facilities, it was a day packed with both the fun and the serious. We also had a lovely lunch at a handsome country restaurant. Hannes was witty and good about keeping us all together. This was a great opportunity to learn tall tales and dig into the very complex history of the Baltics.

This was a brilliant, comfortable way to get between Riga and Tallinn, but more than that it allows you to experience more than just those city centres. Our guide was so knowledgeable and never rushed any part of the tour (in fact all the timing was perfect). The minivan was very spacious (which I had worried about as I'm tall and leg room is always an issue - but not this time!) and the restaurant and meal halfway was also lovely. Rather than taking the direct bus from Riga to Tallinn, this is the best way to explore both countries outside the city centre. Our guide, Katrin is very friendly and knowledgable in explaining the histories of both countries and also all the attractions that we visited. She is also a very safe driver and prepared some umbrellas in case it is raining. I don't feel rushed and she is very flexible with time. On top of that, she has helped us above and beyond when my mom left her bagpack in one of the attraction sites. She makes sure that the bagpack is delivered to us the next day! We were trully appreciative of her efforts in helping us. She has truly displayed an excellent representation of Estonian who is kind hearted! The other guide, Andres who voluntereed to get the bagpack and deliver it to us is truly a star! We will remember Estonia with sweet memories not only because of the beautiful attractions that the country has but also the kind hearted people!

Everything was just as described and ran like clockwork but without any hassle or rushing, a great day in a wonderful holiday in Riga and Vilnius. "Kuldiga - the best tour of our two week stay"

We were met on time by our excellent and friendly tour guide Mikelis. We had the opportunity to see the real countryside of Kurzeme travelling through pine forests and open farmland with rustic old farms some long deserted. At every point Mikelis made admission to places effortless for us. We enjoyed the museum of cloth dolls in Sabile and the local owner showed us many of the old relics of the past. We climbed to the top of the vineyard in Sabile for a spectacular view from one of Latvia's 'mountains'. Munching an apple, we reflected on the war and bloodshed which had taken place here in the past. On to Kuldiga and lunch of authentic Latvian dishes cooked perfectly and a modern presentation in a wonderful restaurant complete with jazz music. We walked around Kuldiga's old, unchanged cobbled streets and churches. before Mikelis took us down to the widest waterfall in Europe. The local museum which is free to enter was a calm and fascinating trip back in time. Do not miss this gem. Mikelis allowed us as much time as we wished at the sites and although we had no English we were able to discuss the experiences of his parents and grandparents in the Soviet era as we described the escape of my wife's mother, uncle and grandmother during the 2nd world war. We could not have wished for a better tour nor for a better tour guide in Mikelis. We learned much more about Latvia in one day than we had in the previous 10 days.

Jurmala is a very nice and beautiful area close to Riga with lots of hidden, and amazing spots, which you won't find on your own. It was also very nice seeing him again, since we already went on another tour with him last year (bus tour from Riga to Tallinn). We opted for a private tour as it was more flexible. In particular, we had visited Sigulda for a full day (by train from Riga - recommended) so we asked to skip Sigulda and spend more time at Cesis Castle (also recommended.) Note - Elina said that even on a full tour, the guide can do that if everyone agrees. Elina was full of information and had excellent conversational English. Even if you are on the small group tour (about eight people, max nine), travelling between Riga and Tallinn this way allows you to see a lot more of the country outside the capital cities.

"Worth your time."

This was a great alternative to a regular bus from Riga to Tallinn. The tour was in a new minibus with only 6 passengers. The guide was a very good driver, extremely friendly, and knowledgeable about regional history and culture. We stopped at some places that really seemed to give a good representation of rural Latvia and Estonia. Most of the trip was on smaller highways and some dirt roads. It was nice to stop and spend time exploring places that had no other tourists there. I'm from the States and road trips through the country backroads are something that I have always enjoyed. This trip was exactly what I had hoped for. Highlights include: beautiful forests, teutonic castles, medieval towns, war museum, excellent restaurant for lunch, country scenery, and a bobsled track. Worth every penny!

We gathered in Riga and met our fellow travellers from all over the world, and Ruta our driver and guide. First stop was Salaspils prison camp to hear the beating heart monument and see the enormous statues, then Rundale to see the gardens. We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant followed by a visit to the astonishing Hill of Crosses. We stopped at Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania, before arriving in Vilnius in the evening. Ruta was informative and entertaining, telling us lots about the history of the places we visited, and joining in the jokes and banter in the mini-bus. This tour is a great way to see Latvia and Lithuania attraction while getting from Riga to Vilnius. It would've taken us 4 separate trips from Riga and Vilnius to see all of the attractions we have covered in one day. Our guide Kamile was very informative, upbeat and also had a good balance of quiet and tour time. Our 16 yo son was engaged and it is hard to please them at that age. I would also give huge praise to Kamille for being super helpful when we couldn't get into our hotel since we arrived late. When I couldn't reach hotel mgmt, I panicked and call the only person I knew in Vilnius at that time. Kamille was happy to help and went on looking into other available hotels even if that was not part of her job.

Together with the other really nice passengers, we visited a piece of France in the Baltic States, saw an impressive war memorial, another town and admired the Hill of Crosses. The tour is very well worked out. The huge sculptures at Salaspils are amazing, and you'll never see anything like the Hill of Crosses anywhere else in the world. Rundale was okay, but not particularly impressive after the palaces in St. Petersburg, and although it was nice to have a stop in Kaunas, it doesn't have the attractions of Vilnius. Four of us booked this tour and even with the maximum eight, the bus wasn't too cramped. It sounds like a long bus journey but its neatly divided by four stops, two in Latvia, two in Lithuania so doesn't feel too onerous. All three sightseeing stops were great and few people around. Lunch was the fourth! Laura gave us plenty of information on each stop and general history of both countries. She was also an excellent driver! Would recommend.

The day tour from Riga to Vilnius was wonderful. We stopped at four beautiful sites which I had not known anything about. Two of them, Salispils in Latvia and Hill of Crosses in Lithuania, were emotionally very moving. Our impassioned tour guide, a young Lithuanian lady, was extremely knowledgeable, humorous, and lively. I learned a lot on the tour and saw some extremely lovely places. I recommend taking this tour to anyone who wants to go from Riga to Vilnius. I also took the one from Tallinn to Riga, and would make the same recommendation.

The Riga to Vilnius transfer went without any hick ups. We had an guide/driver, well informed and a former Biologist. A full mini van with splendid and diverse conversation. This one way bus trip is the perfect day trip. It allows you to see little known countryside towns you would otherwise never experience. It also still advances you trip rather than using a whole day only to end up back where you started. We loved our guide, Kamile, who told us about each location with tons of fascinating details. The stops each added to our understanding of Latvia and Lithuania’s history and included a good amount of free time to see things on our own, which was the perfect balance. Had a long but thoroughly enjoyable day travelling from Riga to Vilnius via the Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses and Kaunas. Our stop off for lunch was also good, the meal was tasty and good value. The eight-seater transport was very comfortable and air-conditioned and the itinerary interesting, but the real star was our guide Laura, from Lithuania. It's not often you meet a guide so energetic, knowledgeable, friendly and with near-perfect English. Such a lot of fun too, an absolute gem. Our guide (so sorry can't remember his name) was a very good driver and was very informative and made the trip interesting. Arrived in Vilnius a little earlier than expected amidst the 30 year Baltic Way celebrations.

In a few hours we experienced particular things that we wouldn't ever seen without the tour, in particular the Gauja park, Cesis Castle and the fantastic typical lunch. An unexceptionable note is Uku, our guide: a knowledgeable and a very polite boy who took care of us for all the tour's duration making our trip unforgettable; he is also a good driver! In our opinion the only thing we would avoid is the visit to the war's museum because it's too tiring and not visiting it would reduced the duration of the trip.

We had a late lunch, but very delicious in a little hotel with plenty of hunting trophies at the border town of Estonia. This is definitely the BEST way to transfer between Riga and Vilnius - with four really interesting and varied stops along the way - the Salaspils memorial, the beautiful Rundale Palace (the largest in the Baltic states), the unique Hill.of Crosses, and the very pretty former Lithuanian capital of Kaunas. A lovely lunch stop is also included - venison steak excellent. Our guide and driver Kamile was bubbly, chatty, informative and pleasant - despite having to drive 450 kn in a day! The only suggestion I would make for improvement is that possibly a little longer could be given time-wise at the Rundale palace for those travelers who want to see inside the palace in addition to having a look around the beautiful gardens.

We were very lucky with our guide Kamil, she was very helpful, informative, jolly, funny and a good driver too. The stops we made were enjoyable and helped to break the journey. We particularly liked the bob sleigh stop and the national park. It would have been fun to go down the bob sleigh run on bicycles, but we understand the need for health and safety !! We recommend the tour highly especially as Kamil was kind enough to stop to let us off early in Tallin so we were closer to our hotel. Very helpful.

After travelling from Vilnius to Riga with the Sihghtseeing Tour Bus, we continued the trip a few days later from Riga to Tallinn with the same tour operator, but different group, different tour leader and of course different route with different stops. This time: a sport site (bob and luge track in Sigulda), a romantic old town (Cesis), a walk in the national park (Gaujas), a military museum (Valga) and castle ruins (Viljandu). Entrance fees were included. Our tour leader was Estonian. He talked a lot about his home country and its history, but didn't know much about Latvia. In one case I even think he mixed up Latvia and Lithuania. Also the announcements (how long will we stop here?) were not always audible in the car. What is spoken in the drivers seat can not always be heard in the back. This is the reason for the missing fifth star. Besides this, the tour was fun. Of course it is a long day and near the end the country roads get a bit boring. However it is the perfect way to travel from Riga to Tallinn if you are not only looking for a transfer but for information, experience and nice company. Definitely recommend!

When you are on your tour through the Baltic states and want to travel from capital to capital, the Sightseeing Bus is the right choice if you do not only want to get from A to B, but if you want to see more of the region, learn about the sites and meet other people (but not too many). Our tour from Vilnius to Riga was perfectly organised. The four sites to visit were quite different: a historic city center (Kaunas), a religious pilgrim place (hill of the crosses), a baroque palace (Rundale) and a memorial site (Salaspils). Entrance fees were included. Ruta was a good and safe driver. I liked her diverse taste for music and the variety of musical styles that we heard during the trip. What really makes her stand out as a tour guide (and we have seen many) is her anticipation of the guests' needs. She answers before the question arises. All explanations were clear and precise, and she explained a lot, always adding a humouros note. Her enthousiasm is great and covered all sites in both countries. Definintely recommend! The special gift at the end of the trip: a city map of Riga with recommendations written by locals. However, it is from last year and already partly outdated, as some of the described cafes no longer exist.

We did the bus tour Riga-Tallin. Laura was our guide/driver. A great experience: we just needed to travel one-way from Riga to Tallin and we decided to book the tour instead of a conventional bus or train ticket. We spent a nice and funny day. The tour is well organized, no rush and you can merge a transfer trip with a visit of some of the best Latvian and Estonian location. A special thanks to Laura (she is really one of the most energetics and positive person I have ever met) who was able to entertain us during the whole trip. Totally recommended and a must-go trip if you have to travel through Baltic capitals

In a comfortable new 9-seat van we get an excellent tour not only about countryside between Riga and Tallinn, but also an historical&cultural overview with all its details about development of populatian,language, traditional food, music etc. Private story of family and experiences of our guide added to the normal facts made it very special. I loved the tour and the company. If you want a nice trip between Riga and Tallin rather than a boring journey I would recommend it. Small negative I felt the tour guide was more interested in Estonian history than Latvian and we could have had more historical detail. Not sure about the military museum as I have an aversion to nationalism and militarism and the exhibits were only labelled in Estonian. It was interesting however to learn about Estonia’s struggle for independence. Lunch in Valga was great food. Other highlights were the Gauja national park and Viljendi.

While organizing our Baltic holidays we found out there are not many options to travel between Vilnius and Riga, and this tour probably is the best one! We could travel confortably and safely while visiting some interesting places we would have not be able to reach by ourselves (some of them we actually didn't even know of, like Salaspils Memorial which turned out to be our favourite one!). Ruta was a perfect guide and gave us all the basic infos about the places, without making it too long and boring. At first I wasn't really happy to find out Trakai was taken out of the tour, but now I can easily see it perfectly makes sense as it's very easy to visit by yourself, and would have taken too much time away to all the other places, which are a bit rushed already. Even if you're not a "social" person, the Van is large and confortable so you will have all the "personal space" you will need. My husband and I surely recomend this tour as the best way to move from Vilnius to Riga!

Combining inter-city travelling, and rural sightseeing, is a great concept. We left Vilnius with Ruta at the wheel, and stopped at 4 very different places in rural Lithuania and Latvia. Ruta's knowledge and passion about her homeland made it an informative journey, and the group of 8 international travellers is enough to be comfortable. Highly recommend this trip.

"Efficiant and interesting way to travel from Riga to Vilinius"

We travelled as a group of six, from Hong Kong and Japan,. Although we have not been lucky in terms of weather (cloudy and rainy), we were very lucky to have Kamile as our guide. The tour itself was very well balanced in where to stop and what to see; we enjoyed the coutryside and learned a lot about the history of both Latvia and Lithuania. Kamile was also extremely helpful when, at the end of the tour at Vilinius, the hosts of one of our Airb&bs were quite irresponsible and our friends could not enter the apartment. She helped us communicate with the hosts by phone and although it must have taken longer than usual, she's dropped us all at our respective lodgings. Thank you so much! I highly recommend this mode of travel as it is much more fun than flying.

It was a great tour! We had a full but not exhausting day. We got to go to many places that we couldn't have gotten to on our own with public transportation, and the sightseeing broke up what would otherwise have been a long journey. Our guide was also very enthusiastic and fun. Highly recommended!

This is such an enjoyable and efficient way to travel from Vilnius to Riga, getting to see sights off the cities which would have required separate day trips. Having a guide like Ruta was such a bonus too as she has such bright, positive and infectious energy (you can tell she absolutely loves her job and what she does!). I also liked that this mode of travelling was kept small but yet allowed us to get to know fellow travellers from other parts of the world. Glad we made the choice to travel this way!

Ruta is an excellent tour guide. Our first stop was Salaspil, Latvia which was a Nazi camp. However, as we well know while the Soviets were building this Memorial Park, they (Stalin...Brezhnev) were shipping Latvians to Siberian Gulags. ¿Why haven't the Latvians built some Memorial here to all the Latvians that disappeared during the Communist Era. Or: ¿Is Latvia Still under Soviet Control?

It is interesting and very entertaining, but very tiring too. Our guide was great, with singing and drama and jokes. We thought the visit to the military "museum" was completely unnecessary as it is very poor and there's really nothing interesting there. Also we were horrified that they sold nazi uniforms there.

Tour was great and so was the guide. I am aware that visit to Trakai was recently taken off the scope of this tour. But I think instead of Rundale Parish, Trakai still would be a better alternative. The Parish is nothing other than an old mansion on a poor garden. I believe that part should be reconsidered. Other locations were cool places to visit and our guide was really amazing. We had various stops at interesting historical sites in Lithuania and Latvia (as well as a rest stop for WC use and snack buying). There is a lunch break but it is good to come prepared with some snacks for the morning and afternoon rides.

"A fun, unconventional tour from Vilnius to Riga"

From our friendly, knowledgeable guide Kamile to our interesting co-travelers, this was a fun and informative series of visits from Vilnius to Riga. The most powerful one was in Salaspils where Kamile shared her own family’s suffering at the hands of the Soviets. It spurred a fascinating discussion linking the horrors of the Holocaust to those of Soviet occupation. One of the guides from a companion group joined us, adding much to the give an take, There was much to learn and much to acknowledge. But there was also the opportunity for interesting and friendly chat over a tasty lunch. Our group was very international, representing 3 continents. Many thanks also to Kamile who offered to drop us off at our hotel at the end of the ride. Much appreciated since we were the “old folks” among these wonderful, youthful travelers. Great to have all the stops along the way, but really missed not going to Trakai. Would have traded Kaunas for that experience, for sure.

You guys should seriously considering charging more because it is so worth it. The lunch halt was also in a very nice restaurant. In all it's for whoever wants to see the Baltics in its raw beauty.

As an alternative to flying or getting the coach between capitals, this is great. The journey times between stops are very manageable (with plenty of toilet stops for those who need it), the bus is comfortable and roomy, and the places you visit are varied and interesting. The highlight for me was the Salaspils Memorial Ensembe. Beatrice was a great driver and guide, and she has a wonderful singing voice! Lucky to share the journey with some wonderfully interesting fellow travellers.

We were a group of five people from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil and Germany traveling with our guide Ruta from Vilnius to Riga. Ruta was a very knowledgeable guide, who was passionate about her home country and gave us los of interesting information on the history and culture of Lithuania and Latvia. She was very pleasant and friendly and always wore a smile on her face. The places we visited are not easy to reach if not by driving, so this was an excellent way to see places I probably would not have seen otherwise. At every stop, Ruta gave us an introduction to the history of the place and then gave us time to roam around and explore by ourselves.

The stops were interesting and Laura was very fun and energetic. However, I think guests should be able to choose whether to visit the garden or the inside of the Rundale palace. For us, the inside was more interesting than the garden (we had seen quite LOTs of palace gardens) and I think if we decide to pay a combo ticket (paying additional cost), the total would be cheaper?

We visited Salaspils memorial, Rundale castle, the hill of croses and Kaunas. Our guide Ruta was great. We had a little bit of free time at every stop. The tour lasted from 9am to 8 pm.

In every country, you got to see the hinterland and not just only the capital. Good wat to get a feel of the place. Estonia isn’t a crowded place, but you get a feel of the country and the people. Good thing to do when you need to go to Tallinn and went to see something out of the beaten beaten path.

It was my right decision to travel to Riga with Traveller, instead of going by a local bus. The 4 stops are really interesting plus a nice restaurant with good taste and reasonable prices. The most important is the guide, who is Beatrice. She is a wonderful woman. She is funny and super friendly. She entertained the group quite well and gave us enough information, plus she has wonderful voice. However, I also have got a negative comment about my seat. My seat was just next to the driver. Actually, it was so nice to sit next to the lovely driver like Beatrice, However, my seat is so narrow. I couldn't extend my legs through the trip to Riga. I would suggest either to skip this seat or the tour guide should come up with an idea to rotate the seat. (I took the trip from Riga to Tallinn, one of our group suggested doing like this, which was very nice. We all can move around not fix to someone through the trip and fair to the one who sits at the bad seat.

Our guide Laura was one of the most enthusiastic people I've ever met and her energy didn't falter once throughout the day. She tried to teach us a couple of Lithuanian phrases and explain the culture too which was really great to hear from a personal experience rather than from a book or website. The tour was good to see more of Latvia and Lithuania than just the capitals. The Salaspils memorial was worth seeing although very poignant and definitely made you feel the tragedy that occurred there. The only things that could be improved is maybe the guide being slightly quieter at the memorial as it felt a bit uncomfortable her doing the history so loudly as we were walking through. May be better to stop and group us around to talk for this site. Also, there was a lot of Abba on the bus- this may or may not be good depending on your view!

This tour was a great decision with its combination of transport and sightseeing. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable and interesting. He obviously had a real passion for the areas we visited - he even sang stirring Latvian songs for us. We got to see places we would never have thought to visit and learn the basics of Lithuanian and Latvian history. Initially we thought this would be a difficult day due to its length, but the trip was broken into easily manageable sections and the time just flew.

A perfect way to go from city to city- see the sites along the way while garnering so much good information from a personable guide and making good friends from all around the world during the trip! It is a great and interesting method to move between cities in baltic states. We stopped at some very interesting spots on the way which are not reachable by public transport. Beatrice is our guide. Energetic, talkative and caring! Highly recommend esp for people dunno driving like me.

She also took care of every detail: music playlist, food suggestions, questions and responsable driving, always with a big smile. The hill of crosses, the Rundāle palace and the memorial monument were definitely the highlights for me, but highly unreachable by public transportation as they are in the middle of nowhere. So this is definitely a great option to get yourself from Vilnius to Riga without missing these interesting places.

Our guide Karolis was really friendly and an expert when it comes to flora. He learned me a lot about the environment we traveled through. The trip also gave me the possibility to visit Viljandi, which is the most beautiful place I've seen in Estonia so far (after three visits). The whole trip I've felt really comfortable. Karolis his genuine interest in the motivations of people to visit Riga and Tallinn made the trip really pleasant as well.

We also took the trip from Vilnius to Riga. We got what we hoped for: visits to the countryside to explore instead of just driving by. We stopped at a bobsledge venue, sandy cliffs, small towns with nice vistas, a military museum and had lunch at a fantastic hole-in-the wall in a town split by the border. As for our ride the guide was knowledgeable and drove safely. Bring some snacks. Water was provided.

We chose this trip over the regular bus/train services to see something of the countryside. We were not disappointed. Had a chance to explore Kaunas and see the Hill of Crosses and a Soviet WWII monument. Not sure if all tours are the same tough. Also stopped for lunch, but having snacks for the nearly 12 hours helped (water was provided). Our guide was very knowledgeable and drove very safely... both are qualities highly appreciated. And yes... the 12 hours are long and tiresome at times, but otherwise we would have missed the countryside. We also did the Riga-Tallinn ride.

This was a great way to get from Riga to Tallinn & actually see some of the countryside along the way, while hearing about both countries & being able to ask questions. Eight passengers is a great number & the vehicle was very comfortable. We enjoyed the whole day & would recommend this as the only way to travel between the two cities. Uku was fantastic & happy to answer any questions we put to him. Gave us lots of great info on Tallinn as well.

We booked for a family group of 10. It was a great service. Pick up from the hotel in Riga and drop off at the hotel in Tallinn. Great stops along the way, nice restaurant for lunch - and pre/ordering was a great idea to keep our big group on schedule. They were wonderfully flexible with start and finish times and stops on the way. Thx to Laura for her knowledge and energy for our very tired group!

The tour was a great way to see the country side for both countries, learn about the rich history, see the economic differences, visit cities off the map, and add to the European trip. Along the way we visited a brewery, military museum, national park, remains of a castle, and a national park. Our guide Mike was the best guide for such an experience as he told folklore and sang! This is a great way to see behind the scenes of the country. The 12 hours was long, and perhaps could be shortened to 10, but it was well worth the time, effort, and expense. Very much recommend it.

Great way to get between capitals and see some of the sights on the way. The guides are very good and helpful. However our mini bus was a disaster. The seat belts did not work and eventually the bus broke down altogether. Another bus had to be arranged which meant we spent quite some time in a service station. ⁷Disappointing as not cheap.

Sights we saw were cool but all no cost but the one garden - which they pay entrance for - four Euros. Lunch not included, so the 65 Euros seems a bit much for the tour. Remember that 12 hours can also be a bit long. But, if you don't have another way to see these sights and you want to see these particular things, then this is the way to go. Laura was energetic but lacked in the guiding area in terms of recommendations or advice of bathrooms or what to see when you have free time.

It was a very long day, and the last section was about 2 and a half hours, so my back was a little sore the ne t day. I was happy to be able to visit the Latvian and Lithuanian countryside and learn a lot about these two countries at the same time. The car ride was long but that was also how we got to ask questions to know better of the lands. Our guide, Karolis, also told us many jokes that are both funny and informative! This tour is a fantastic way to travel between the Baltic capitals - public transport in these countries is not fabulous but on this tour, you get to easily travel from country to country whilst experiencing some of the sights and history along the way. Our guide, Kamile, was well versed in the history of the region and was a lovely companion as well. The only constructive feedback I have is that two such tours were run that day - I was in a mini bus at full capacity (eight passengers) but the other tour only had three people in the same sized mini-bus...

Laura was a highly dynamic guide, passionate and informed about her home country of Lithuania and the Baltic states in general. We had previously done the Tallinn to Riga tour so our expectations were high and we were not disappointed. Again it was really nice meeting a small group of people from all over the world and spending some time with them doing interesting stops that naturally sparked conversations. The stops on the tour were varied, quite different from the Tallin to Riga tour, well structured and thought out. The restaurant we ate lunch in had a tasty, locally inspired menu at reasonable prices.

Our fellow travellers parted in great spirit and whilst a little weary from the journey far more aware of both Latvia and Lithuania. He kept up entertaining conversation as the picturesque fields rolled past and we chewed our Latvian “cow candy”. He also told his family’s personal stories as a means of highlighting the living history of this region. Also in our group was a family who had just taken part in the singing festival in Estonia, and Mike sang with them. A great host for a great trip. The trip itself was a set of places I would otherwise have no means of getting to, and that I may not have even known existed. I would highly recommend this tour and this trip!!

Our trip from Riga to Vilnius was amazing, in main part to our wonderful guide Lau. He had a bus full of ladies and made our day comfortable, easy and enjoyable. We really loved traveling with him and the sights we were able to see along the way which would have taken up much more time as day trips from Riga or Vilnius. A great day. This is a ‘no brainer’ option tour for getting from Riga to Tallinn (or the opposite). It was comfortable, interesting and we saw sights that are more than the run of the mill tourist spots. Even the lunch stop was amazing. We arrived in Tallinn with plenty of time for dinner. Getting the inside on Latvia and Estonia from a young, respectful, interesting and capable tour guide gave us a real perspective on these countries that have endured a tough history. We had a great fun group of 8. Kamile was an excellent kind smart guide. Long day but went by very fast. Only negative: van was NOT Comfortable. Whoever sits in front middle seat has absolutely no legroom. Need to upgrade the vans you use especially for a full group.

The concept is a great idea, yu travel from city to another and in the middles you visit reelevant touristic and historical sites. The tour guide is very knowledgeable, but as she is driving too. I think what is missing is to explain more of Riga and Vilinios cities when you leave and when you arrive. because when we arrive to ilnius there was no expanation about the city at all, at leas some ideas of where to go and what to visit would be helpful.

"Quick but lots of sites!"

We had a great time with our tour host, Lau. He was super upbeat, had some great playlists the he played during the drive (after lunch when we were all sleepy it was calming piano and ambient music), and he was really kind. He shared some great facts about each site but also insight into Lithuanian culture. We had a great time-- thanks for a lovely trip!

Great way to see a bit of the country outside the main cities of Riga and Vilnius. The Hill of Crosses was pretty cool and the large statues of the liberation of Salaspils in Latvia was educational. A great way to spend a day to those looking for a journey between these two countries and not just a destination.

Good experience, but may be would better if we had been 30 minutes more in kaunas. We arrived to Vilnius al 8:17 and the visit was from 9AM to 9 PM. It was a shame the rain in the hill of crosses

Great way to get from Riga to Vilnius. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great however still interesting sites. would have liked for the inside of Rundale castle to have been include in price. That with the price of lunch made the whole tour expensive for a family. The lunch however was a highlight, delicious and the best meal we had on our visit! Although we stopped at Kaunas it was late in the day and most museums, etc. were closed. Perhaps another site could be added instead of Kaunas. Kamile, our guide was affable and friendly and helpful. Although a bit expensive we would still recommend this tour as a great way of transferring between Riga and Vilnius.

This was a great way to see some sights that are farther away from Vilnius and Riga. The van was spacious and comfortable, the group was intimate, and Rūta was a wonderful tour guide. She knew tons of history, and it was fascinating to hear her thoughts on the contemporary political situation in Lithuania. She was well informed and thoughtful. I do wish we had eaten lunch in Kaunas instead of near the Hill of Crosses. We didn't have as much time in Kaunus as I would have liked, and the restaurant near the Hill of Crosses was mediocre. Other than that, I felt the tour was well planned and paced. There was plenty of time at the Hill of Crosses and Salaspils, and though I could have spent a long time both in Kaunas and at Rūndale Palace (interesting gardens!), we would have been exhausted had the tour been longer than 12 hours.

It is the best way moving to Vilnius to Riga. Firstly I planed to go to the hill of crosses by myself. But I noticed it takes time and I need to carry heavy luggage’s... This tour takes me some places I want to go, Kaunas , the hill of crosses and Rundāle pils. It is very nice experience in Lithuania. And our guide,Mr. Laurynas, is the best guide!!! He knows about the places very well and teach us kindly, sometimes with jokes:) I highly recommend this tour!

It was good to have sufficient time to visit the palace rooms at Rundale - another 15/20 minutes here would have been great, though there was a lot of other things to fit in. We had an excellent tour from Vilnius to Riga. Our fellow passengers were great. We had so much fun together, Also, Laurynas, our tour guide, was superb. He has a wicked sense of humor and great taste in music. In addition, he is very thoughtful and sensitive. A bee was stuck in the van at one point, Laurynas saved him, named him Charlie and proceeded to make multiple puns about Charlie. As my husband said, he made the difference between a good and a great trip.

This is the BEST option to travel between two Baltic capitals and visit important sightseeing spots which are difficult to reach by public transport. Our guide Beatričė has not only taken us to the sightseeing spots, but further back to the history and the heart of the two nations (with her lovely singing as well). I would highly recommend this tour to fellow travellers, and will definitely participate the Tallinn-Riga one in my next visit. Just a quick word of suggestion: it would be great to have a sign of some sort (e.g. Vilnius to Riga) displayed for the meet up - although it was obvious in Vilnius as there was no other vans around, it may be a bit difficult for busier locations.

This is the best and easier way to visit all the interesting sites between Riga and Tallinn. You can find the full schedules in their website. The most interesting parts were hiking at the Gauja National Park, walking around the small castle town Viljandi, and the best was lunch at the Valmiermuiza brewery, they have the best beer in Latvia and the food was great! We can not possibly have such a wonderful trip without our guide, Mikelis! He was helpful and knowledgable, told us fun stories and even sang for us!

It was my first time joining a small bus tour in this part of Europe. it turned out to be a perfect choice. We need to go to Tallinn from Riga, it provided us with transport combined with tour along the way. I loved the places along the way, a nice lunch, National Park walk and even had time to pick some berries and mushrooms. Katrin our guide had done a fantastic job, couldn't be better. She even had a perfect cup if coffee with her in the small cafe in Medieval old town Cesis in order to escape the rain. Katrin is a very knowledgeable tour guide, I hope to join some other tours by her and Traveller next time.

Overall interesting and informative but in an attempt (I guess) to make tour members relate to the horrors of children being separated from their parents at work camps, our guide very suddenly shouted “MAMA!!!” during his explanation. All of our group members were visibly startled/confused, as were other visitors at the memorial. This was completely inappropriate and should be stopped immediately.

This was a great way to get between the two cities and see some sites which would be very diffcult to get to otherwise. I feel like the tour could have started at 8am to given more time in Kaunas and to arrive at lunch earlier (our trip didnt have lunch until after 3pm due to normal lunch stop having a private function but it would have been 2pm anyway) Also, I think arriving at Rundale palace with enough time before the inside closed would give people the option to pay extra to tour inside and not just see the gardens (which were lovely). Not as much time needed at hill of crosses (stop, a few pics and away you go) or the Salaspils. Our guide was fun and very accomodating. Thanks Ruta!

This was a really good way to get to your next destination so rather than a sweaty bus try this instead and see some of the other things Lithuania and Latvia have to offer.

We were looking for transport between Riga and Vilnius, as we had been using trains throughout but none are available during the week, and we didn’t want to sit on a coach for over 4 hours. An internet search produced this tour, but we were initially a little dubious about its suitability for older people, as the pick-up point was outside a hostel and the promotion video features only energetic young people! However, from the moment Beatrice and her colleagues arrived in their shiny vans with their friendly greeting, we knew the day would be good! The 4 of us 70-year-olds from the UK were accompanied by 2 young ladies from Singapore, and we had a great time together, with Beatrice providing an excellent balance of information, personal anecdotes and humour, as well as being a very good driver. Lunch was good (especially as we ordered ahead, so didn’t have to wait long for it), and the palace, hill of crosses and Kaunas were all most interesting and enjoyable. We arrived in Vilnius after an excellent, full day. Full marks to Beatrice, our guide, a journalism student with a wide knowledge and excellent English, always prepared to learn more! We can highly recommend this way of travelling between Riga and Vilnius (or vice versa).

"Make the BEST of Your Day to Tallin"

Best choice to travel to travel Riga - Tallin. You travel with a group and within the travel time you can make good travel friends, you see places you would not even thought of visiting. The journey is broken up with stops at various stops. The driver/Gulde Michael - what can i say about him. He was AMAZING ...he drove safely, spoke with passion and his singing was amazingggggggggggg. Great tour

"Well-paced interesting way to go from Riga to Vilnius"

I was pleased that I booked 2 of the day tours with this company, both Riga-Tallinn and Riga-Vilnius. The Riga-Vilnius tour stoped at four sites. The first was the peaceful yet moving memorial to victims of labour camps. Next was the Rundāle Palace. After that the Hill of Crosses. And lastly Kaunas, former capital of Lithuania. Our guide explained the history clearly and with enthusiasm and was very knowledgeable about the region. She was also an excellent driver. The small size of the group was good as I guess we were therefore easy to manage - no poor timekeeping! The highlight for me was probably Rundāle. The gardens were glorious, the palace delightful. The low point if any was lunch as the restaurant was crowded with other tours and struggled to cope; and the food was not great ( compared with others I went to in the region. In general I would heartily recommend these one-way day tours.

"Fun and interesting trip between two great cities"

We had a great day on this tour, and saw new sides to Latvia and Estonia's history and culture during it. Our guide was excellent and packed a huge amount into the day: we were able to spend good periods of time at each of the destinations listed. The lunch spot was delicious, and we arrived into Tallinn well on time. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!

"National park -- a soul of a nation"

The day in Gauja national park made me reconsider the term national park -- besides the nature it has everything that belongs to the soul of a nation: the cultural landscapes, the history. For me, the true highlights of the day were the Ungurmuiža manor, a tiny little wooden manor in all its dignity, and the ferry ride. The latter looks more like a piece of road coming towards you and taking yourself and your van to the other shore, using only the power of the river, no electricity. A steampunk experience! I love Riga, but I'm happy I spent a day in the countryside.

"Very Worth It!"

Mike was a fun tour guide and had a ton of knowledge about the history of the Baltics. He told a lot of jokes and even sang multiple times in Latvian for us. I was surprised at how quickly the 9 hour day went. All the stops were really interesting, with a good mix of city and nature. This tour was a good chance for us to visit places that we wouldn't have had a chance to otherwise and we had a great time getting to know our fellow travellers. I would highly recommend this sightseeing tour, especially with Mike as your guide!

Groupe de 8 personnes accompagnées d'un chauffeur et d'une guide, dans un véhicule confortable, avec 4 arrêts en cours de routes : Cesis (château ), parc de la Gauja, visite d'un petit musée de la guerre à la frontière et ville de Vildjani ( Château en ruine ). Un moyen aussi d'en savoir plus sur l'histoire des pays baltes et sur les habitants. 65 euros. 12 heures de trajet Cela dit, les stops sont moins intéressants que ceux du trajet Vilnius - Riga

Karolis was great. Very knowledgeable and a really good bloke. Really enjoyed the day. All the stops were decent though Hill of Crosses the highlight. Only issue was trying to get the pick up point details which included 2-3 phone calls the day before. 2 or 3 out of 5 for the admin. 5 for the guide and tour.

Meeting open minded people from all over the world and being entertained by an knowledged guy. Learned about the history and fairies. Probably the best way to travel from Latvia to Estonia. We highly recommend.

We did a private tour , with Laurynas as our guide. The tour was amazing and we were able to cover all the key sights between Vilnius and Riga , at a comfortable pace . The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time. Highly recommend the tour especially if you would like to maximize your time.

This is a really great way to go between Vilnius and Riga. Get a chance to see places you wouldn't be able to otherwise. Group side is perfect. The guide is really good and witty. Provided us with water & chocolate (winning!) It's a long drive but plenty of stops and there wasn't anything in the itinerary that wasn't already mentioned.

There are several selection to move from Vilnius to Riga. Meantime, there are two attractive location for us. We prefer to spend adequate time for both Rundāle palace and Trakai Island Castle, and finally we decided to use Personal tour. Traveller tours provided the best experience for us with very friendly, kindly and deep knowledge guide, (who drive car), and we really enjoyed this tour. I recommend to consider this option for you.

For first timers the bus may be faster but the insights would be nil. The van stops in places that give you insight into the country.

We really enjoyed our experience on the Vilnius-Riga sightseeing tour. It brings you to places you wouldn't have known about or had the opportunity to see otherwise, and gives great insight into the history and stories of Latvia and Lithuania. Ruta was a very warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, and always kept our experience as the top priority. The journey in the minibus was very comfortable and the stops were broken up nicely so it flew by very quickly. Nice way to spend the day!

Our driver had great enthusiasm and was very positive. My only question is about the length of time at certain stops. I would’ve preferred much more time at Salaspils and Rundale Palace, and far less time (or not even stop) in Kaunas. Also, at Rundale, I wish we were given an option whether to see the gardens or the inside. (We were provided only a ticket to the garden.) I paid for my own entrance to the Palace, but had to walk fast to see it due to the short time there. These are just my opinions... But otherwise, Traveler Tours are a great way to see more of the countryside & harder to reach on your own places, and I recommend them!!

We had an amazing tour from Vilnius to Riga. Our guide / bus driver/ singer is lovely and shared her love of her country to us and she's truly passionate about her job. I joined the tour for the hill of crosses but turned out I'm more impressed by the memorial at salaspils.

Highly recommend this very interesting tour. Our guide Laura was super enthusiastic and knowledgable. * The city of Kaunas was charming. * The Hill of Crosses pilgrimage site was both somber and uplifting. We left a cross there for loved ones in our prayers. * Rundāle palace was grand and beautiful. * The Salaspils Memorial to victims of Fascism (Lithuanians and Jews) with its large stark somber monument and emotion evoking figures reminded us of the tens of thousands killed by the Nazis...even though created by the Russians who killed many more.
